  1. Totally agree. I’ve warmed up to Seigler, despite the lack of production. Bauers is a waste of a roster spot. He’s proved that not only this year but his entire career. I don’t care if he crushes a 500 foot homer in his next AB.
  2. Lockridge isn’t even with the team anymore, and Perkins had a brutal August. I don’t think anyone is really concerned anymore about finding time for our 4th and 5th outfielders.
  3. Seigler back in the lineup, and Bauers yet another start in the 5 spot. It’s like Murphy is just daring the club to let the Cubs back in the race. What is the Brewers record this year when Jake Bauers starts? I’d be willing to bet it’s not even .500, or barely over, despite the team being 30+ games over .500.
  4. Is there an effective reliever in the pen that hasn’t been used often? They’re all exhausted.
  5. Agreed. I don’t really care if the number 1 takes 93 wins or 100. That’s the goal. Don’t care about the record.
  6. I watched the last few innings of the Cubs’ game. I am definitely concerned. Other than the Giants’ series, they are feasting on the soft part of their schedule, as we feared. Worse, it just seems like their bullpen is getting stronger and hitting their stride at just the right time, whereas ours is gasping for air. I’m not saying we are going to blow it, but I don’t think we are going to shake them until the final week, and failing to capture the tiebreaker could end up making things pretty uncomfortable. I don't think we will be able to afford another 9-10 stretch.
  7. He may get it when Hoskins comes back. I would say Vaughn has gotten less breaks due to a lack of viable alternatives. I am find with a break as long as it doesn’t mean more Jake Bauers in the meantime.
  8. I mean it counts as a deal, though not a deadline deal, and Vaughn had some tremendously impactful moments this summer. I think it’s fair to question though whether he’s going to be a long-term impact guy here rather than more of a Rowdy Tellez-like fun flash in the pan.
  9. Lost in most of this, I assume the Shelby Miller era is over in Milwaukee. Certainly not what we hoped for. I can’t say that anything we did at the deadline this year turned out to be particularly impactful.
  10. I really think this pitching staff could benefit from more of a piggybacking approach, both to be more effective and limit innings. Miz should not be throwing past the 4th inning at this point, regardless of how he’s looked in the first 4 innings. We’re just not getting the length we need out of the rotation anyway. So why not cap Miz, Woodruff, Gasser, and Fedde/Hall (once he gets stretched back out) at 4 innings each and have two piggyback spots in the rotation? Yeah, you’ll have to go a man down in the pen (we’re a man up right now with the extra guy), but you’ll have your most effective guys and you won’t have to ask as much out of them because you’ll be getting 7-8 innings of length in at least 2 spots in your rotation.
  11. Respectfully can I ask why it bothers you so much? No other team in the Central has any possibility of catching the Brewers. Every Brewer win and Cubs loss subtracts from the magic number. So, I get the perspective. Both results are currently equal contributors toward the Brewer clinching of the division. That’s why people care here.
  12. It’s baseball, but this one will leave a pretty bad taste in your mouth until the next one on Wednesday. Bad loss.
  13. I thought Turner probably checked and Realmuto probably went around. They were both close but neither was egregiously obvious. Still gotta make pitches to the next guy.
  14. Really disheartening to seem destined to go up 7.5 in the division 2 hours ago only to be headed for 5.5 up.
  15. Would it absolutely kill this pitching staff to not put the leadoff man on for free to start every inning ?
