  1. Except it was reported yesterday that he is. I really don't know why you have such an issue with people having the opinion that Nieuwenhuis' gets excessive playing time with a young rebuilding team. You're just obnoxious with it. So I give it back. After you agreed literally earlier today with another poster than bickering on here is bad Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion. I see no point in giving OF playing time to guys who aren't part of our future. But you do, so agree to disagree.
  2. Last 14 days, OPS'ing .796 At home this year, .952 Wonder why Counsell wants to play him.... Good God man, just let it go already and let people have their opinion. You're essentially the only one who feels otherwise, yet you continue to state your opinion like it's fact. Let it go. If this season was about putting the best possible lineup out every day and winning the most games, people would understand the decisions based on the home/road splits. It's not.

  4. So wait to complain if Broxton continues to sit. Not after a week of playing and then gets one night off. My complaint is less with Broxton specifically and more with the over usage of Niewenhuis. I agree with TheCrew that Santana falls into the same category as Broxton as a guy who needs to play. And Santana HAS been sitting a lot for Kirk since his return.
  5. Because he's been red hot, hitting .182 with 2 singles in the 4 games, I guess.
  6. When's the last time Broxton has sat? You're going overboard on this with him simply having a day off so I'll refer you to my original comment to you. He'll be back in CF tomorrow. Stop with the sky is falling all the time. It's no big deal for him to have a seat today. Did you read my previous post at all? Big picture. No big deal if this was a one off thing.
  7. I know it seems that some of us complain about Nieuwenhuis too much, but he already has set a career high in PAs by 26, and he's on pace for 437 plate appearances, which would shatter his previous career high. With the young in house options we have, it's really nonsensical. The 2016 Brewers are rebuilding. Kirk Nieuwenhuis should not be scratching the surface of 450 plate appearances on the 2016 Brewers. He really is playing way, way too much. If he was getting a start or two a week to spell the starters as a 4th OFer, no one would be complaining.
  8. I really want to see Nieuwenhuis off the team for that very reason. For the state where this club is at, he plays way, way too much. Other than for the occasional rest day, there is absolutely no reason for Broxton and Santana not to play every game the rest of the season. None.
  9. Or maybe he needs to play his way through this to see how he responds. 20 ABs isn't even a weeks worth, and he hasn't been overworked. Again, is it not okay to disagree with you over this? Also, Kirk is 2 for his last 11, not what I would describe as red hot. Anyway, every single day, that's a little hyperbole. But I'm okay with it if it's just a simple day off. But if it's back to a platoon situation, I'm definitely not okay with that.
  10. Annnnd tomorrow he'll be back in CF. What's your point? Is it okay for us to disagree about the amount of playing time that Kirk Nieuwenhuis receives without having this same discussion every single time?
  11. Annnnd Broxton is back on the bench today.
  12. I agree the jury is still way out on Broxton and it's far too early to anoint him as any kind of player. That being said, any and every player goes through some '0 for' stretches and I think it's important to see where he goes from here. We knew he wasn't going to stay hot forever. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm really, really hoping Counsell let's him play through this and continues to give him starts, rather than relegating him back to the bench.
  13. Pretty much my thoughts on Scooter. I'm hoping eventually Diaz will be the guy. Scooter is a guy, for a team hoping to contend, if they had a black hole at 2nd and needed a cheap option that would give them a chance, you could do worse than Scooter. But he's not someone you look to build around coming out of a rebuild.
  14. I'd go with Villar at 2nd, whose bat would play very well there and he should be at least adequate defensively.
  15. What kind of return for Scooter? Bag of peanuts? I'm prepping myself to be underwhelmed. He just seems like a guy to me. Streaky too. Not much, probably. But I didn't expect much for Segura after last season, either after his 2015 season. Scooter is probably worth a Supak or Freddy Peralta type arm. But I'd take it rather than paying him millions in arbitration. You could just non-tender him, but I think he's better than that.
  16. Agreed, Perez is best utilized as a super utility guy. Long-term, I'm not sure his bat will play well enough at 3rd to stick there. But if they want to go with him as the interim guy at 3rd next year, trading Scooter and moving Villar to 2nd, I'd be fine with that.
  17. Agreed with those who want to see Scooter traded in the offseason. He's not versatile at all and he's about to get more expensive. I also don't see the LH as a real big deal at this point of the rebuild. He's just not a good fit for where we're at, and him being a lefty isn't a good enough reason to keep him around IMO.
  18. When your critique is invalid and your expectations are unrealistic, don't be surprised when folks come back at you. But sure, we can agree to disagree on Corey Ray. I think all sveumrules was getting at was that while sure, we have high expectations for Corey Ray and hope he develops into a superstar player, history tells us that it's likely we get less than that, that's all.
  19. When you can't come up with a sufficient counterargument to a valid point, just start hurling some insults instead. Good stuff.
  20. Yup. Such is the nature of the beast in the MLB draft. You've got just as good of a shot at getting a flameout at #5 (if not more) than you do of getting an MVP. He's got a shot at becoming a star, sure, but it's far more likely that he has a Lorenzo Cain career than a Mike Trout.
  21. Absolutely. A strikeout is only very slightly worse than an out in play. A walk is much more positive than a strikeout is negative.
  22. Is GameDay an accurate representation of the strike zone? I'm not watching, but I've wondered before if GameDay is supposed to accurately portray the strike zone like they show on FSN, or if it's just subjective.
  23. Probably not the way he envisioned it when he was called up, but Suter gets his first big league win.
  24. Just to clarify, was the great player we gave up Gomez, or Fiers? At the time, it was Gomez.
  25. Stearns also said he doesn't anticipate an August trade. So as far as I can tell...Counsel is pretty much just playing Nieuwenhuis over Santana.
