I don't know whether to blame Johnson for this rotation or if it's just a reality that we have a rotation full of #5 starters.

WGN doesn't broadcast Cubs games anymore I believe. Or if they do its really limited. Doesn't look like we are missing much.

So we managed to get the bases loaded in the 1st and just let Nelson hit for himself only to probably pull him with 1 out here in the 2nd. Cool beans.

Cannot even put Jon Lester away. I can guarantee without looking it up that Jimmy Nelson leads MLB in walks issued to opposing pitchers.

Well, it's a lot closer than the Madison Bumgarner comparison someone made a couple months ago.

Nelson has just been straight up not a good pitcher for the last couple months now.

Medieros is an absolute disaster. Approaching bust status by this time next year if his control issues don't improve drastically.

So is Wang a legitimate pitching prospect for us now? It's been quite a ride seeing him work his way back after the Rule 5 season and being DFAed.

Hand was pretty clearly on home plate and then the swipe tag from Maldonado came. I really don't know why it took more than 60 seconds much less how they concluded there wasn't enough evidence.

I really can't believe they called him out still. I'm obviously biased for the Brewers and I thought he was pretty clearly safe.

I think I'd rather see 3 strikeouts in an inning than 3 pop outs. That was terrible.

Yep. Villar's Fangraphs page pegs his value this year at $16.6M. So while I get the frustrations with his mistakes, the fact that the only discussion on him is a 10 pager criticizing his baserunning makes me feel like we're losing sight of the bigger picture in that the guy has been a huge net positive for us as a young player which is exactly what we need.

I didn't care for Roenicke, but that was mainly because of his small ball addiction. Macha....whatever. I don't recall hating his strategies, but he didn't seem to connect with his players, which is kind of important. Yost. .I don't know. It's been awhile, and he seemed to be pretty hated by the time he was canned, I recall him having some pretty questionable bullpen management. But he's obviously doing very well for himself now, and it's possible he's adapted and learned from mistakes, I don't know. I don't know if Counsell is the long-term guy or not, but I really have no issue with him. I don't like how much Nieuwenhuis plays, but if that's my biggest issue with him, it's not a big one. He's been doing better about playing Broxton lately anyway. I don't see any indication that the players have quit on him, which is crucial, to have the respect of your players. I also appreciate his ability to manage games with his head and not a book, as evidenced by him bringing in his closer early in extras on the road when the matchup calls for it. I've disagreed with some moves, but you'll have that with anyone. I'd also add that everyone seems to want a manager that screams, gets in his player's faces, and spits fire. Do those guys even exist anymore in today's game? Furthermore are there any of those type that are just sitting at home right now?

15 games? That seems really high. That's way more than the difference between the most valuable player in the league and a replacement level player. I have a hard time thinking I'd rather have Maddon than Mike Trout.

Of all the times, day after day, that we continuously feed Nieuwenhuis starts and ABs, and then with the bases loaded and 2 out down 7, we go with Flores over him?
