  1. Nice to see a good old fashioned ejection once in awhile.
  2. I have to admit I'm pretty surprised by this turn of events. In the 1st ww couldn't even touch this guy.
  3. Hey, that inning was much more along this line of thinking. Nieuwenhuis and Guerra's hits, anyway.
  4. Have you met this team? I was feeling more of the opposite, like here comes a 7 IP, 1 H outing.
  5. Good thing this is not the year that wins and losses really matter in the big picture. Hopefully we grow and learn from losses like this.
  6. Yeah, no luck there. But different situation against Blanton. Our shot has come and gone, I'm afraid.
  7. I'm not a big Sedar fan at 3rd either, but honestly...what is more likely in that scenario - Perez beats the throw/catcher or pitcher mishandle the ball, or Ramon Flores gets a hit? I actually didn't mind sending him. Well, you also have to consider the count and situation too. Flores had a big hitters count, and Blanton couldn't find the strike zone and was about to load the bases, and the Dodgers had no one up to replace him. I could forgive it if it was a close play but IMO it wasn't.
  8. The runners were going and Perez tried to score from 2d on a wild pitch and was out on a close play. Close? Perez was about 6 or 7 feet from home plate and just starting his slide when Blanton received the throw.
  9. Peréz was stealing 3rd on the play and it ended up as a passed ball. Sedar sent him home. I won't say he was out by a mile, but it wasn't bang-bang. You could tell when he was halfway home that he wasn't going to make it.
  10. It's amazing how an incompetent 3rd base coach can cost you several wins over the course of a season.
  11. I'm completely shocked that we stranded that leadoff double. And by completely shocked, I mean not even remotely surprised.
  12. Garza has been mostly smoke and mirrors so far. That sparkly ERA isn't going to hold up long if that 1.50 WHIP and 11.3 H/9 don't come down quick.
  13. Chase Anderson sucks. An 0-2, 2 out RBI hit to a teenage pitcher with 0 career hits.
  14. I think the love for Nelson tends to be a bit too high here, especially among those that consider him an ace pitcher, but I agree he's not a non-tender candidate unless he pulls a total Peralta the next couple years.
  15. Sure wish that was reflected in the ERA of Kodi Medeiros.
  16. I'm fine with the 8 man pen. Considering that Nieuwenhuis, Broxton, and Presley could all be DFA'ed today and no one would shed a tear, I can't see too much value added by extending the bench without one or two of the aforementioned being sent packing.
  17. I agree that Davies is a really nice middle to lower rotation piece. The issue with our rotation and what will probably keep us in a rebuilding stage for the next couple years, is the fact that our rotation is nothing but middle to lower rotation pieces from 1 to 5. Probably the biggest disappointment of 2016 so far is how far Peralta and Jungmann fell off from what we hoped they could be. Davies has been exactly what we could have hoped he would be.
  18. Wren has played far more in CF than any other position in his career, so I don't see why he would be limited to a corner. There wouldn't be any point to bringing him up unless it was as a CF. I don't know much about Wren, but I know Gord Ash called him a 'true CF' when they traded for him. I'd just rather see him get a shot there than the current status quo and Phillips hasn't shown enough this year to make the jump here yet.
  19. I really want to see Nieuwenhuis DFA'ED if Liriano comes back this year. It's not that I think he's the worst player in the world. He's a decent 5th outfielder for a contending team. But he is nowhere near the type of player that should play every day for a team like the 2016 Brewers, and I'd rather us not even have that option. He just adds zero value to a rebuilding club. Why not just promote Kyle Wren and at least evaluate him at the MLB level for half a season?
  20. For as awesome as I always hear our bullpen is, you'd think we'd be better than 18th in MLB.
  21. You might be right, just listening on the radio. I probably overreacted anyway, the sac bunt has its uses, just don't like Presley being the guy there, but like you said, not many options, not that anyone in this lineup can come up with a big hit anyway. That's probably the game anyway now...
