  1. My friend is sitting about two rows away and said he heard it hit the pole. I'd feel a lot better if it hit. I think I'm more upset that they didn't even look at it. It's THAT close and it's THAT big of a turning point of the game and you're not even going to take a second look? RR has a responsibility to at least come out and ask for a review and question it. It's disappointing that he didn't.
  2. http://postimg.org/image/a4en5guqn/ I timed the pause to try to catch the ball in front of the yellow. I did here, and drew a red square around the ball to show it in front of the yellow. This is the most conclusive proof I can produce that the 3 run homerun tonight by the Twins was a foul ball. If I didn't convince you from this picture, I won't be able to convince you.
  3. http://postimg.org/image/aeidwx6ov/ This is about the best I could do for now. It looks pretty clearly in front to me, but I guess that's my opinion.
  4. http://m.mlb.com/min/video/topic/0/v33436569/milmin-arcia-blasts-threerun-homer-for-the-lead/?c_id=min Go back and try to pause it right as the ball passes by the foul pole (about 7 seconds in). It clearly passes in front. This is clearly a foul ball and should have been 3 runs off the board for the Twins, and no one is talking about it.
  5. Yes!! Someone with DVR please go back and slo-mo that and confirm or deny that we are losing our minds here, but I think that was foul!
  6. I hope I am just seeing things, because that looked foul on the replay to me. It looked like the ball passed in front of the pole, not behind it. Please tell me I'm wrong and that we didn't just blow 3 runs with a non-challenge.
  7. Wow, you're such a big man Fletcher. Just one of the countless MLB umpires with overinflated egos just itching for a fight and itching to eject somebody thinking they're a part of the show.
  8. Remember that talk last year about how Gomez was expendable trade bait because of Logan Schafer? Yikes.
  9. Definitely a "coulda woulda shoulda" loss tonight.
  10. If they're not going to pick up the option on Yo, they should seriously consider trading him. He's still a commodity if he's carrying an ERA 4.00ish or lower around the deadline. He might be one of the top guys on the block and can be marketed with the reasonable option year. Even in a contending year you could argue they can put Nelson in the rotation and either not lose much or possible improve.
  11. Well, got one back. If Maldy can go yard then it'll get interesting.
  12. They just aren't playing good baseball tonight really in any way other than the pen.
  13. Ugh. Plenty of warning track power tonight, but just can't quite get one.
  14. Gennett hacks at 2 balls. Braun swings at Ball 4 and K's the next AB. Jean chases one WAY out of the zone. We are really doing our best to help out the Twins tonight.
  15. Really ugly AB Jean. This guy is not throwing strikes. You're down 4. You're really going to help him out that far off the plate?
  16. Totally forgot Logan Schafer was still on this team. Oh well, take any walk you can get down 4.
  17. Pull the plug on Yo right there in the 4th with the bases loaded and go all-in with Lucroy and I bet it's tied or better right now. That's a TLR move, but I agree with it. Can't do it all the time, but the pen has had some rest recently. I get sticking with Yo if your options are Herrera, Fulu, or Overbay, but Lucroy is the guy you want up with the bases loaded. It wasn't worth letting Yo bat just to squeeze that 5th inning out of him. You don't always win or lose the game late.
  18. Wish Braun wasn't taking 2-0, that was a meatball.
  19. I can't believe that you would say this without at least disclaiming it as being situation dependent. If you run on contact with a runner on 3rd and nobody out and get thrown out, that is most certainly a bad play. As it is even if done with 1 out. Particularly in a close late game, but anytime, trading a runner on 3rd for a runner on 1st is a big deal. You've removed a ton of scoring scenarios on the next AB. Trading a runner on 3rd for a runner on 2nd isn't as bad, but its not harmless. The one and only situation where its entirely irrelevant is with runners on 2nd and 3rd at home in the 9th or later needing just 1 run to win or tie. Any other time trading a runner from 3rd for 1st/2nd can certainly end up having a negative impact.
  20. Like Roco, I don't recall specific dates although I do remember numerous times of it backfiring. Here's an article from June 30th of last year. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/milwaukee-brewers-10-reasons-why-fair-criticize-manager-194700953.html Scroll down to #6. Question the credibility of the source if you like but it would be pretty incredible if they stated that it had cost the Brewers multiple times (just in 2013) if it had never actually cost them once.
  21. He also said that was the first time in his entire tenure here with us that the contact play has backfired on us. So I'm not sure he's actually caught the end of all our games. Actually that's not really what he said at all. This is; RR "Last night there was a line drive to hit to the shortstop and they doubled us off. In the three-plus years I've been here, that's the first time that's happened to us." So it's a funny insult, but it's also just simply NOT what Roenicke said. http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/2014/05/2 ... era-monday Roenicke said the Brewers had run the contact play successfully many times since he began managing the team in 2011, and Monday night was the first time it had backfired. Then this is somewhat irresponsible journalism on the part of the Brewers website.
  22. What part of "don't give Kintzler inherited runners" does Roenicke have such a tough time understanding?
  23. My fantasy Brewers offseason for 2013-14 now includes signing Cruz and Jose Abreu. 1) Gomez 2) Braun 3) Cruz 4) Abreu 5) Lucroy 6) Ramirez 7) Segura 8) Gennett Sick. Even minus Garza. Oh well.
