  1. It's hard to name a single manager, coach, or player in our organization who hasn't been disappointing in some way so far for us this year.
  2. Seriously, guys. Again? Scott Olson is not THAT good. Especially against a lineup full of righties.
  3. No, he still would have been out at 2nd, because safe would have been the correct call, which Phil Cuzzi's crew is incapable of accomplishing.
  4. I'll take it, but that ball left J.J.'s hand before he stepped on 2nd. Checked it out again on DVR.
  5. I hate it when Brauns goes up there and just hacks the entire AB, until he gets a perfect pitch that he stares at for strike 3.
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3384523 Ned's take on Gagne being replaced, calling the idea "ridiculous." Basic translation of the comments: "He's been one of the best before! He just needs to keep battling!!! You guys are stupid for even considering that a closer who blew 5 saves in the first month should be replaced!!" Sigh...that's our manager. #1 - Considering finding a new role in the bullpen for a reliever who blew 5 saves in 1 month is not "ridiculous". You'd be hard-pressed to find a similar situation where the idea of replacing a closer wasn't at least considered if he blew 5 saves in the first month of the season. You can certainly still argue that he shouldn't be, but doing so isn't close to being a "ridiculous" idea. That sounds, once again, like Yost is being stubborn and close-minded when his mind is set on something. I'd be bothered if he isn't at least thinking "Hey, our closer is blowing a lot of saves. If this keeps up, that could lead to a lot more losses. Maybe I should keep my eye on the situation and make a change if need be!" #2 - Please stop citing past success as an excuse for anything, Ned. We don't have 2003 Gagne, 2005 Turnbow, 2005-2006 Capuano, or 2000 Kendall. So don't use those players to justify your reasoning.
  7. I believe the Brewers could not be any worse off with a different manager. I'm sure anyone who suffered through Davie Lopes and Jerry Royster would disagree with you on this point. Royster was a lousy manager, but give Yost the talent that Royster had to work with and he doesn't win much either. I'm glad we had our first winning season in 15 years last season, but it came about because we built a talented team and tripled our payroll in the last 5 years, not because we have a genius baseball mind leading the way.
  8. I am still trying to figure out how Yost ticks...... Several times last year, I saw him come out of the dugout all fired up about a call that wasn't even wrong with basically the sole intention of getting himself tossed. Today, we're sitting there absolutely taking it up the tailpipe from Phil Cuzzi and his crew in the 9th, and Ned sits there in the dugout with arms crossed.
  9. Two 4 run leads blown in this series. It's early but it feels like another year with more promises and hopes and yet more underacheiving talent. It's going to be time to move in another direction if that's what it turns out to be, Gallardo or no Gallardo. Oh, I need to see if the domain name www.firephilcuzzi.com is available.
  10. I need to stop posting here, because I'm going to say a lot of things that aren't allowed on this board. I will conclude by saying that I wish no good things in life on this umpiring crew.
  11. Seriously, if I'm the Brewers, I want Cuzzi and his whole shady crew investigated. They are by far the worst in baseball.
  12. Should be over now. Should be. The game, unfortunately, is hanging in the balance of the lamebrain making the calls at 1st base.
  13. Not even CLOSE, he was OUT!!! How do you blow that call?? You're RIGHT THERE. I hate Phil Cuzzi and his awful crew. Get another job if you can't even correctly do the one simple thing that you're paid to do.
  14. The guy who caught that ball had a shirt on that says, "Every great idea that I have gets me in trouble." Hilarious!!
  15. I hope our pen can hold them to no more than 1 run in 2 innings, because it's looking like they'll have to if we want to salvage a game here.
  16. That was a sweet looking bunt, Craig.
  17. Get back in the box Tejada, drama queen.
  18. I'm starting to not be as fond of the pitcher batting 8th anymore....seems like it is working against us more than it is working for us....
  19. Kendall has a little alien-like look to him without the facial hair.
  20. Why do fans of other teams copy the Cubs dumb tradition of throwing opposing HR balls back onto the field? Cub fans are hardly fans I want to emulate. It drives me nuts everytime I see someone do that at Miller Park. Just give it to a kid who doesn't know the difference anyway if you don't want it.
  21. I love it when fans who haven't the slightest idea what a balk is go ahead anyway and squak, "BALK!!!!"
  22. I know it's not his forte, but Sheets has GOT to slide on that. EDIT: Looking at the big picture, I'm probably wrong about that. Awfully close play as it was. Do we ever get any love from Phil Cuzzi?
  23. Are you really criticizing Yost for his love of the righty/lefty matchup when pinch hitting? Blame Melvin for assembling a team with one freaking left-handed power hitter. Branyan or Nelson need to be up. Yes and yes. The righty/lefty matchup is generally the preference, that doesn't mean there aren't exceptions, and that doesn't mean that TGJ should be up there consistently in RBI situations like he has been when we have better options for those situations on the bench, even if they are RH. And yeah, I've gotten into this before, we need more LH on this team.
  24. When did Tony Gwynn Jr. become our big RBI guy in pinch-hitting situations? If Yost stepped away from his love for the lefty/righty matchup off the bench, he might realize that Dillon or Kapler could actually take advantage of the Crawford boxes and tie up the game. A guy with the slugging percentage of the average pitcher is NOT who I want to see used. Even Counsell would be a better option. Cripes. If Slappy is going to be used to PH when we need those big RBI's, we may as well just get Branyan up here. I'd rather see him strike out with the knowledge that he can put one in the seats if he gets ahold of it than see another inevitable feebly hit grounder to 2nd to end the inning by Gwynn.
  25. If you have cable, particularly Charter, try pulling the main cable out of your cable box and plugging it directly into the TV. A friend called me and told me to do that, and I don't know why, but it worked. I will add though that Charter sucks. I just don't know how many more headaches from them I can handle.
