Why would you mess around with sliders when you have a blazing fastball, Bill? I don't know, could just be that 1st base is open and Rickie murders fastballs and has difficulties with breaking pitches. Just a thought, Bill.
Braun hacks at some bad ones and then takes that pitch. It's maddening how much we are striking out looking. At this point, I don't know how you can not blame Skaalen for the bad plate appearances that most of the hitters are giving us every time.
Seriously, are we ever going to get it that Turnbow is a head case and probably is always going to be one? He's not going to be like he was in 2005 again.
I don't mind Gwynn batting 2nd THAT much today with Rivera starting, with Kendall starting it's completely stupid and makes no sense, completely defeats the purpose of batting the pitcher 8th.
These days, we pretty much have to pat our starters on the shoulder before each game and say, "Want the win? You'll pretty much have to be perfect. Good luck, champ."
How did our hero decide to give Bill Hall the day off today? He picked his name out of a hat. Literally. ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=343133#p343133 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?t=12043
Great escape by Villy that inning. Cubs up 5-0 early against the Nationals. They are doing what you are supposed to do when you face a bad pitcher, knock him around. I think we should adopt that philosophy over our "Cy Figuroa" style.
