    Count me out of that group. I couldn't care less about NASCAR, but I haven't missed a game yet this year. I love that we're still in first, but I'll sure admit I'm frustrated about how we've been playing lately, and I don't blame anyone else for feeling the same.

    First of all, the situation hasn't been great lately, so it's not un-fan-like to be a little frustrated and overcritical of the team right now. It's a lot to do with frustration. Secondly, you came here and preached about people not criticizing the team, and yet have not made a single post in the IGT about anything other than criticizing other people's opinions.

    I have no idea what you're on about here. Sheets struggled out of the gates but has looked MUCH better his last few starts. I don't know if Hart is still injured or what the deal is, but he sure hasn't done anything this season to deserve PT over the guys that are in right now.

    Look at the wrong end of a sweep and a 5 game losing streak, excitement isn't exactly at an all-time high right now.

    Why are we stacking the lineup with lefties, when Peavy shows no statistical disadvantage against righties or lefties?

    Suppan is really falling behind the hitters today. Other than that, he's pitching okay, but his command seems very off, and that will come back to bite if he can't find it soon.

    I can't remember the last time the leadoff runner reaching for us in an inning actually did anything productive for us.

    Even the alignments aren't working right now. We've been getting killed on the exaggerated shifts and defensive alignments. We're just not doing anything right lately.

    Goodnight everyone. I'm not conceding this game yet, but it doesn't look good at all. This has been just an awful slump, and to make matters worse, we get Peavy tommorow. This team needs to start playing better fundamental baseball, and soon. And the starting pitching needs to start living up to their billing.

    Team really lacks fundamentals lately. We needed to get Braun in from 2nd last inning with nobody out. We're not going to break out of this slump until we start showing better fundamentals.

    Geoff Jenkins is quietly one of the best players on our team this year. Great defense, and another HR. A platoon player on pace for 40 HR's, and around .300. He's getting it done for sure.

    3-2 in the 5th, Vargas trying to get out of trouble. Site is back up!

    Hall, if you ever want to get some serious retribution, you could not even possibly pick a better time to get a 2 run homer here. EDIT: Yeah, didn't think so.

    That may be true, but I think the question is more of whether or not Gallardo is a better bottom of the order kind of pitcher right now. Bush's career numbers don't indicate that his ceiling is that high. He may be a decent bottom of the rotation pitcher in his career, but we may have a better one with a much higher ceiling right now, and we need to win NOW.

    Well, that ended quickly. I imagine Gwynn will lead off the 7th, but this one was pretty much put out of reach in the 5th. It'd take a miracle to put up 4+ runs against the Padres bullpen.

    Huh, would be nice if Bush hadn't served up a Grand Slam last inning.

    Well, that oughta do it. Another gem by Bushie tonight, although the BS check swing call by the idiot 3rd base ump who was probably paying attention to the butterfly on his nose costed us 4 runs.

    I'm seeing Bush get the same corner calls that Maddux is getting. I just don't see any disparity.

    I'll go back and take a look on DVR, but I sure haven't noticed anything from Maddux that was 5-6 inches off the plate and called a strike.

    Great game by Gabe. Too bad he'll likely be stranded there on third with 2 outs and the pitcher up.

    Thought Billy should have been able to beat that out... Is anyone getting absolutely sick of the CONSTANT seatbelt commercials on FSN? We get it. You want us to wear our seatbelts. Pounding it into my head at every single commercial break isn't going to do anything.

    . Is this supposed to be sarcasm? We have Braun in the 2, Hardy and Prince at 3 and 4...Jenkins...Miller who kills Maddux in his career...Hall further down in the lineup...and Gross in the 8 who is great at reaching base...and no Graffy or Counsell..not sure what else you want?

    The strike 3 pitch to Weeks was right on the corner, a perfect pitch. No question that was a good pitch and Weeks deserved to get rung up on it. Have to protect better than that with 2 strikes.

    Prince is 2 for 2 hitting into double plays, but he hit that one hard. For God's sakes, can we catch a break??
