Cappy just does not have it today. Not against the Met's A team, either. Hopefully we can get it done against Perez. Seems like a very tight strike zone for Cappy, it had better be the same for Perez.
Not like we could have really PH for Jenks anyone, we had no available right-handed outfielders. Wagner is good, but man, we didn't even threaten there. Disappointing loss, especially considering that glaring horrible call by the ump in the 4th.
We really need to push across another run here in the 8th. Facing Wagner with the bottom of our order coming up isn't a likely recipe for success. Well, nevermind.
May as well stay with Villy for the rest of the day now and at least save the rest of the pen for another day. I really doubt we're rallying for 3 runs against the Mets in the last 2 innings. They have one of the best pens in the league.
Not freaking out, I just think we need to get Hall out of the cleanup until he finds his power stroke again, or at least finds some ability to get some extra basehits again....
Yeah, to be impartial, Mench definitely should have been rung up on that 0-2 pitch. Yet the umpire seems to have no pattern whatsoever with the corners. Sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not. There's no way of knowing.
Dumb idea, Geoff, you never had a chance to get him. This team looks like they're feeling the pressure of the national attention. Everyone is out there trying to be a hero and pressing. They just don't look good.
That pitch wasn't even CLOSE to down the middle. That was a very borderline pitch, looked off the outside. That being said, nothing wrong with Rickie running on that play.
Counsell is abysmal. His one saving grace was that he could come through in the clutch earlier in the season, but he's not even doing that anymore. Braun can't come up soon enough.
