  1. Meat of the order coming up. Let's get some runs. We don't want to have to count on coming back against the San Diego bullpen, that's a very tough job.
  2. I seriously want to put my hand through a wall out of disgust right now. I am so sick of seeing us being unable to manufacture runs by doing the simple things when we have scoring opportunities. It takes a flyball to score Gross from 3rd with one out. Or a slow grounder. Try a squeeze for crying out loud, if you can't get the job done any other way. Continuing to strand 2nd with nobody out and 3rd with 1 out is unacceptable.
  3. Good pitch by Maddux. Weeks continues to struggle with RISP.
  4. Not true at all. Though he's struggled, his average and OBP are almost identical to what he put up last year, and his OPS is still around .800. Problem is, he's not getting as many extra basehits -- only on pace for 20 HR's rather than 35. But he's not the biggest disappointment by any means. One good week and he could be pretty much on pace to match last season.
  5. That ball should have been caught, but Bush is straight up getting knocked around. I'm getting really frustrated with Bush. I haven't given up on him yet, but I'm close. His ceiling isn't really any higher than he showed last year as it is, and I don't think it's at all out of the question that we might see Gallardo and Villanueva replace Bush and Vargas next year. These aren't the 2001 Brewers anymore, starters are expected to get it done regardless of whether they're #1 or #5.
  6. Ugh...that looked a lot more like the Jenkins that has gotten some heat from Milwaukee fans. Man, we never even made them sweat it out, really. Pretty disappointing losing on one Sheets' mistake, a petty error, and offensive ineptitude, though it doesn't look like the Cubs or Astros will gain any ground on us tonight. Hopefully Cappy can outduel Penny tommorow. Now, time for me to turn the channel quickly before Ann Caroll's ugly mug shows up on it.
  7. Mench is useless against righties AND lefties lately.
  8. Those aren't "good numbers", especially by Sheets' standards.
  9. Not a very good night for Sheeter.
  10. I really would like to see Prince/J.J. in the 3-4 hole every day. Hall is just not a cleanup hitter. Move him down, I think he will have better success...
  11. Sheets strikes out too much. : In all seriousness, I know pitchers aren't really expected to hit, but Sheets has got to be more useless with the bat than any pitcher in MLB.
  12. Ladies, can we catch the routine foul pop-ups, please? Come on now.
  13. This is the major luxury of Hardy and Fielder batting back-to-back. You HAVE to pitch to one of them -- and neither is a good option. Now maybe we can give CoCo the day off....I would hope Spurling can hold a 4 run lead for 3 outs.
  14. Really not caring for Gwynn constantly trying to bunt himself on with the 1st pitch. They're almost expecting it now. Seems like it's just not working the vast majority of the time.
  15. Well, they're chipping away, but we can live with a solo shot. Just finish this inning, Bow, and we'll be all right.
  16. Turnbow? I'm a little surprised, but I guess Ned wants to make sure he's back, and nail down this victory. If the 4 run lead is preserved, I doubt we'll see Cordero for the 9th, though. It troubles me a little bit that we feel we can't trust Spurling OR Dessens with a 4 run lead. Seriously, does it do much good to have 2 relievers on your roster that are reserved solely for blowout situations?
  17. Suddenly, I'm very grateful for all those "insurance" runs in the 5th. If Rickie and Gwynn don't come through with big 2 out hits, we're looking at falling behind here.
  18. Careful, careful...one swing of the bat, and this is a 2 run game now....if the next guy reaches, it's time for Suppan to call it a day.
  19. Sac bunt trailing by 5 late? That's...interesting.
  20. Umm. Keeping your starter in after only 5 innings and 1 hit with a 4-0 lead and a low PC isn't a 50/50 decision, it's a no-brainer. Yes, even with the bases loaded.
  21. This is going to make some people laugh, but is Weeks gold glove material at second base if he keeps up his fielding percentage?
  22. Alright, tighten the leash a little on Soup. He's had a good game, but no need to make this one interesting.
  23. Nice to see other's pick him up when Hardy is having an off night. Keep it going, Suppan.
  24. I don't think anyone "hates" Gwynn. I think they're just sick of seeing him proclaimed the Brewers CF of the next 15 years after 15 hits including about 6 bunt singles.
