  1. Well, now we've dug a hole. What could have been a very manageable 1 run at most inning turns out to be a very bad inning because of 3 untimely walks.
  2. For crying out loud Tomo, at least make them earn it. Walks alone will ten come back to kill you, but walking 3 in a row to walk in a run is ugly no matter how you look at it.
  3. Speaking of which, as someone brought up awhile back, we have to be the most predictable team in baseball in every series. We win a close one, lose a close one, and get blown out in one. I may as well just stop checking out the games and just try to guess which one of the 3 we are going to win.
  4. Well, if Turnbow is going to get shelled, at least he's doing it when it doesn't matter anymore.
  5. Another series loss. We haven't won a series against a team other than the Reds since June. Can we please cut the playoff talk? Fire Wynegar. Start Hart, start Gwynn. I don't care. Do SOMETHING. It's not like we're going to get any worse.
  6. We're still only 5 1/2 games out of the playoffs. We are only down 1-0 in the current game, with a chance to win a series against the division leaders in their park. And yet, I am not even remotely excited right now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  7. The George Webb $5 for 6 burgers with 5 runs deal is becoming disturbingly similar to the Menards Big Inning in terms of actual likelihood of ever occuring.
  8. On that note, I think it may be time to stir up those "Fire Butch Wynegar" threads again. Seems like it's about that time.
  9. Wow, it is DEAD tonight. Let's not fold up the tent for 2006 yet, folks. I know our offense is horrible, Sheets is down again, and we look like we have no shot. And if we lose tonight, we won't have won a series against a team not named the Reds in ...sheesh, who knows how long. But still. Maybe we get to see Zack Jack back in action these last two months. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. Well, that run should be enough to send us to another series loss.
  11. Well, Reyes should be chased from this game soon. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
  12. Maybe. But nothing he has shown us in the last 2 years makes me very optimistic that he will.
  13. I'll tell you in advance. He's fine, they just pulled him as a precautionary measure. They'll evaluate him and see how he feels, but it just didn't feel right and that was why he was removed. So he is done for the season.
  14. Good inning, although Gross/Graff at-bats were a little disappointing, leaving us 1 down yet.
  15. Let's see....our $10 million dollar/year ace went on the DL twice last year, missed all but about 3 weeks of this year, and continues to go down with all sorts of "tightness" and "soreness" ailments. Do you really blame him?
  16. By the way, who gets the call now when Sheets goes on the DL? Jackson or Villanueva?
  17. Why is Mench still batting cleanup?? On the plus side, good to see Jenkins get #10 at a pretty important time -- gets us back in the game.
  18. Around the league, Atlanta had the bases loaded in the 9th and failed to score, losing 5-4 to Cincy. Won't be making up any ground in the WC race tonight even if we win.
  19. I sure won't be. He'll have a solid outing once in awhile, and people will sing his praises, but even Zack Jack has some good outings. Heck, Villanueva threw a scoreless 6 innings in his first start.
  20. By the way, for those who were saying Davis was great today, final line is 5 2/3 IP, 4 BB, 3 K, 3 ER. That's a respectable outing -- if you're a #5 pitcher. If you're supposedly a #2 pitcher, that's not meeting expectations.
  21. So the Cardinals have the bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th, are down by a run, and you are already counting this one in the win column. I'm all for being optimistic, but you can't paint a sunshiny picture on everything. It's great that we're only 4 games out of the WC and all, but that's mostly a result of a poor National League, not anything that a team 6 games under .500 did.
  22. Just another 4 walk night for Davis. Get him out of there.
  23. Yeah, that's great. It's August and Jenkins has yet to reach double digits in HR's. I just don't consider him a "power hitter" anymore. That's leadoff hitter power. Of course, his batting average and OBP is hardly leadoff hitter ability. Now Davis walks Belliard AGAIN and puts a runner in scoring position. His "good" outing is quickly becoming a very average one.
