  1. I just want one Super Bowl where I can actively root for one of the teams to win the game. Is that so much to ask?
  2. If the 2nd quarter is too early to be worried about whether you’re tied or losing by 1, it’s definitely too early to worry about whether you’re up by 8 or 9. I think the 4th quarter is about when you start counting points, depending on the pace of the game. I really have no problem with any conversion decision before then as they are close to the same expected points. The default is obviously still the 1, but I would have no problem with a team that was particularly strong in 3rd/4th and short situations (not the Packers), going for 2 by default.
  3. Goedert just absolutely crying for a flag after the Eagles get away with an egregious hold on the 4th and 5 conversion.
  4. It’s a crapshoot play anytime anyway with about the exact same expected points per attempt. Washington is the best of the best at converting 4th and short attempts so if they decided that going for two after every TD throughout the season was the right call, I’d have no reason to disagree.
  5. That fake punt down 14-3 deep in their own territory was wild, and might end up being the turning point in this game and Commanders season when it’s all said and done if they win.
  6. Yeah, I think the Washington Cinderella run is over. For as loaded as this NFC playoff field was suppose to be, the Eagles could not have asked for an easier draw — Packers, Rams, Commanders.
  7. This one might not be close. Please win tonight, Buffalo.
  8. Yeah, Dan Quinn, you’re not going to win this game trading 7 points for 3.
  9. You’re chewing up clock, converting 4th down after 4th down with the best NFL 4th down offense, and now when it gets to chip shot range, now you want to take the 3? I just don’t really get it. Maybe they figured they were bound to fail one eventually and didn’t want to leave a big time consuming drive empty handed.
  10. I don’t have any real reason to hate the Chiefs, although if I were a fan of an AFC West team I’m sure I’d feel much differently. But there’s a national fatigue about them right now in the same way that everyone tired of seeing the Patriots in the AFCCG and often Super Bowl year after year after year. And even though it’s apples to oranges across different eras, I’d prefer that the Packers retain bragging rights to the only 3-peat NFL champions.
  11. I don’t know how much we’d have to add to Doubs to get DK but it would definitely have to be something.
  12. The Super Bowl I really really want: Bills vs Commanders The Super Bowl we will actually get: Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl matchups of an NFC team that I despise versus the Chiefs are getting about as predictable as it comes.
  13. Happens all the time unfortunately. I expected there would eventually be a fine that came out for Burks when the play happened.
  14. It obviously was a fluke now in hindsight, but it looked like in that last game against Minnesota that the defense had started to right the ship a little. As far as the Lions long-term outlook, adding Hutchinson back next year is huge, and I don’t really have any reason to think they won’t be a strong contender still. But of course they could take a step back from this year and possibly not even win the division. But I think they’ll still be in it.
  15. Yep. That’s why last year hurt so much. Yeah, I know we were young, I know we weren’t expected to be there, but when we were in San Francisco with a late lead and a chance to go to the NFCCG, none of that mattered. We could have won it all last year. Detroit was beatable, and so was KC. When we couldn’t finish, it was an opportunity lost. It doesn’t matter how young you are, how bright the future looks, you’re never guaranteed to get back to where you had your biggest opportunity. Who would have thought both Detroit and Green Bay would slip back further from how close they both got last year?
  16. Oh, Lions, you sweet little naive souls. You thought you were already in the Super Bowl, didn’t you?
  17. Meh. Let the Lions and Vikings burn with us. I’m here for it.
  18. This game has been like watching Dan Campbell get beat by Dan Campbell.
  19. Campbell with a lot less swag about not taking 3 points when he’s on the other side of things. Would have helped not just wasting a down with a spike with 6 minutes left.
  20. Fair, but Washington is a hell of a lot better at it than we are.
  21. No way. Right call not to. Taking the FG is asking to lose 42-41. Go for the throat. They didn’t get to where they are in this game by taking the points.
  22. If Washington finishes this drive off with a TD, the Lions are toast.
  23. Much more solid at that than determining what a “clean hit” is.
  24. Looks like the cute little gimmicky plays might not cut the mustard today.
  25. Rough night for the “take the points on 4th down!” crowd.
