  1. Nuts. Maybe Weeks can steal a bag.
  2. Did Gameday just make a mistake??? It had Cappy hitting that last one almost OUT in CF for a double!!!
  3. Wow, those last two innings just flew by.
  4. A .247 BA last year, and a .238 BA so far this year. You're sold on Hardy, but not Hall? You just said it yourself --Hall was good last year, and has been good so far this year. I don't know what more he has to do for people to be sold on him. Don't get me wrong, I think Hardy will be a solid Brewer for years to come.
  5. Well, he certainly wouldn't be replacing Hardy permanently. As far as Clark goes, I think Hall's future is in the infield. How about Hall at 2B and Weeks at CF? Assuming Weeks can figure out how to play CF.
  6. I'd like to thank the Phillies batters there for helping Cappy get a much needed quick inning.
  7. I'm surprised J.J. doesn't take more heat. He's having a pretty dismal year so far, at least offensively.
  8. Good job bailing Ricky out, Cappy. Things are good in the Central so far today... Mets 2-0 over St. Louis Bottom 3 Pirates 4-0 over Cincy Top 4 Giants 6-2 over Houston Bottom 3 Cubs and Nats 0-0 Top 4
  9. And Rickie the walking error strikes again and puts the leadoff man on. Nice.
  10. I'm confused by Koskie stealing in that situation. He's not a runner, and you have Miller up with 1 out. Now we have to have the pitcher lead off the next inning, which we wouldn't have had to do.
  11. I'm just amazed that baserunners still haven't learned not to mess with Capuano.
  12. Wow, on Gameday, it looks like Lee just missed it. Giants up 5-0 early against Houston! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif On a related note, wouldn't it be great if Bonds just never did tie Ruth? He just kept going up there and just missing them the entire year, and that's where it ended?
  13. Why does everyone always point out the Brewers youth when they lose? Truth be told, they are not THAT young of a team. They have the right mix of youngsters and vets where they SHOULD be able to win. The outfield are made up of all veterans -- Lee, Jenks, and Clark. The infield has the young guns at 1B, 2B and short, and the 3B platoon is one solid vet and one solid youngster. The bullpen is a pretty good mix of young guys and vets, but in the starting rotation, Bush is really the only "young" one. It's not like the others are over the hill by any means, but I hear so much about how young of a team we are -- we're not that young.
  14. Well, by that argument, we could say the loss to Houston is very encouraging too, since we fought our way back in that one. It's disappointing to me because we had a chance to get it done, and we didn't do it. You can't really justify a loss by saying it was to a good team when you had your chances to win. A loss is a loss, whether it's to the Mets or the Marlins. Getting back into games is great, but if you can't finish the job, what good does it do? A 9-8 loss is no different from a 9-0 loss. We can scrap our way back into 50 games this season, but that doesn't make a bit of a difference if we go 70-92. The other discouraging thing to me is the fact that every time we get a chance to get back into the thick of things, we let it slip away. Had a good shot to make up some ground in the Central today, instead we find ourselves under .500 again. It doesn't look, at this point, that we are going to do much more during the first half than hover around .500. Plus the game reinforced 3 troubling things to me: 1) We can't hit with runners in scoring position. I don't know what the AVG was today, but I'm sure it wasn't good. 2) Our bullpen absolutely stinks. 2 guys with a 8+ ERA, along with Demaria and Lehr? That's just scary, and not in a good way. 3) Starting pitching is in very serious trouble right now. With 2 starters out, we're basically just trying to tread water at the moment. This is why today's loss was so frustrating to me. This month has been absolutely brutal thus far, and all the sugarcoating in the world isn't going to change that.
  15. Demaria, Lehr, and Fernandez have all got to go. They bring nothing positive to the table whatsoever other than an opportunity to blow a game. Bring in somebody else to replace them. What's the worst that can happen? They'll get shelled? Oh well, we already have guys in the bullpen who get shelled, may as well at least TRY something else.
  16. You missed the first away trip and the recent west coast trip? If I did, I wouldn't call this the most disappointing loss of the season. It was.
  17. It's not the hitters' fault tonight, but that failure to get Lee home when he was on 2nd with nobody out in the 6th came back to haunt us. Then Lee on 2nd with 1 out in the 9th...we had the opportunities, and this was just an unbelievably tough loss. Of course, seeing Lehr and Demaria today didn't help matters either. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  18. Most disappointing loss of the season, easily.
  19. Thanks Jenkins. Love the low swinging 3rd strike.
  20. Jenkins, Lee, and Fielder coming up....couldn't ask for a better script if we can win this one with a walkoff 2 run job...
  21. This is going to be a very, very tough loss if we go quietly in the 9th.
  22. Well, I can't see the game and the gameplay didn't update the HBP, so that's why I was asking.
  23. What happened??? I can't see the game, but why did Randolph and the pitcher get tossed?
  24. Unreal....! Can't believe this....gotta finish the deal, though!
