  1. Gute is responsible for the contracts of Aaron Banks and Nate Hobbs which look like the two worst free agent signings in the NFL last year.
  2. Probably not, but there’s no telling how much closer he would have gotten to it if he hadn’t gotten hooked and slowed up. As they explained on the broadcast, they’ll err on the catchable side. It doesn’t look catchable to us, but we don’t know how much the contact made the pass look uncatchable.
  3. That pass was never going to be caught, but it was close enough to call it. Thanks a ton, Sorrell.
  4. When the Brewers lose games I always still at least feel like the organization is in good hands. I don’t think Gute is a great GM. I don’t think the Packers are well coached. There’s nothing about the Packers that makes me think they’re particularly well-run unless you’re content with usually making the playoffs in a field that is almost the same size as the NBA field by now.
  5. At least we can feel better about losing to the Panthers at home since they took the jaggarnaut Saints to the wire yesterday.
  6. For the love of God, at least give up playcalling duties.
  7. People who have never watched football knew that all Jordan was going to do was go up to the line and yell “hut!” about 10 times.
  8. Run, run, run, run, pass short of the first, bark, bark, bark, bark, bark, delay of game, punt. Someone take the playcalling away from Matt and Adam before they tank this freaking season.
  9. I mean I’m a Packer fan so I’m naturally conditioned to be thrilled on any punt return without a penalty or turnover. But Doubs has to be the least exciting and least dynamic return man in the league.
  10. At least TT was cheap and his bad free agents generally came from the Dollar store.
  11. So it’s not ok for us to false start on 4th and 1. Got it. Also, this offense sucks ass.
  12. Go for it. Run a tush push.
  13. I mean when I say it in the context of watching my favorite football team, that’s what I mean too, not that I want to egg his house.
  14. Are false starts just fine as long as you’re running a tush push?
  15. 9 plays, 12 yards. I hate Matt Lafleur.
  16. This roster should be able to withstand losing Kraft. They drafted Golden where they did for a reason, they got Watson back and will get Reed back. Pretty much every other skill player on offense is healthy. This team should be fine and competitive as long as Love and Parsons are both healthy, which they are. None of this is to say that you are wrong, you might very well be right but the way they are built they SHOULD be able to withstand losing Kraft. They did not make a massive trade for one of the best defensive players in the NFL to be a TE away from having their entire season derailed. If it’s more of the same 6/7 seed and early exit, MLF needs to go.
  17. $10M of that is independent of anything else. He’s getting 10M from us for the buyout regardless of what he does. If he gets 3/75 from another club, he’ll get $85M total, 75M from them and 10M from us. So while it’s true that he’s going to get 32M+ from us if he accepts the QO, you can’t look at it like we’re offering him 1/32 because that’s not the situation. I do think there’s a chance he accepts, though.
  18. “ChatGPT, how can I not fire Fickell but make it sound like we’re still moving in a positive direction?”
  19. I’ll add one last point to the last discussion and point out that we are far better in pass protection than run blocking.
  20. Division suddenly looks really up for grabs. 5 division games left. Definitely need to take at least 3 of 5 to win the North.
  21. This times 1000. This roster, both offensively and defensively, is built to win track meets, not old school clock control ground games. Not punting all game is a pretty good indicator that you’re able to move the football. Not punting all game and scoring 13 points indicates a pretty flawed approach, even with a pair of turnovers. Quit spending all game trying to control the clock, being predictable on 1st down, and just run your damn offense. It’s what we did in Pittsburgh and it’s why they could not keep up. You have the deepest WR corps you have in years. You have a franchise QB that you’re paying 55M a year. You have two bookend edge rushers. Teams are not going to win track meets with you. Stop being your own worst enemy.
  22. One other beef I’ve got: enough with the crap of carrying two kickers. Nobody does that. Now we had to cut a backup TE, a position that we’re suddenly really thin at, and lost him to the Vikings, because we just couldn’t let Havrisik go. If McManus is your guy and you believe in him, cut Havrisik and don’t concern yourself with who picks him up. If you’re sold on Havrisik, then cut McManus and keep Havrisik. What they’re doing now benefits no one. You have a backup kicker inactive and not contributing to anyone, while you have a starting kicker constantly looking over his shoulder because you’re keeping a second kicker on the roster. Not exactly a vote of confidence. Make a damn decision and live with it.
