    I am so damn sick of Turang lately. Can you give us one decent AB in a big situation? Staring at an 0-2 pitch with 2 runners in scoring position? If his last name was Pratt or Lara he’d be removed from the game right now.

    Henderson won that battle, but Bregman didn’t get the contract that he did by being a sucky player. He was bound to come around and has been a tough, tough out.

    Pratt and Lara have both performed like 5 WAR players since their callups if you extrapolate their stats for a full season. I have to know what they have done to make Murphy hate their guts so much.

    The one thing Henderson did wrong to PCA was fall behind in the count — PCA was able to just sit back and wait for the changeup. But the pitch itself wasn’t a mistake. It’s like 85% just tip your cap.

    Gotcha. My “get it together” was more directed toward how much he has struggled with the bat lately, but that would make sense then why he was arguing with the home plate ump.

    PCA doesn’t really bother me. He’s arrogant but as long as he can back it up which he clearly can, he has a right to be. He’s obviously an elite player and the Cubs would basically be an average team without him. I’m more irritated with the Mets for making such a dumb trade and now we have to deal with him for however many years. The hypocrisy of PCA making an obscene comment to a woman at a game and getting off with a slap in the wrist, with Uribe getting suspended for his gesture to opposing players, does annoy me a bit, however.

    We can all agree that every position player on the 26 right now besides Naylor is a slam dunk, right? I don’t think we’ve ever seen that before where the position players were just completely clear. Like last year we had that little bit of a surprise with Rhys. The only real question is the 26th man. They can afford some sort of specialist but it’s just hard to identify what the need really is.

    I think Miz needs to pitch at home as much as possible too. Mounds have become such an issue for him that I think visiting teams will look at any way they can to exploit that. So 1) HFA is going to be very important for us, and 2) Henderson and the bullpen need to be our road warriors,

    Well a couple things. First, the division itself isn’t necessarily as important as being a top 2 division winner as that number 3 still plays a Wild Card round round and we need to avoid that. So while we’re 9 up on the Cubs, we’re only 4.5 up on the 3 seed. Solid, but not locked in yet where we can coast. Secondly, I’m not sure he’s injured. Could be a whole host of other things, mechanics messed up, tipping his pitches, probably a host of other things. I do think Harrison’s massive home/away splits are a pretty good indicator that he had some tells on his pitches, at times, that are more easily relayed on the road. I'm not necessarily against the idea, but he had plenty of time off and came back worse so another 15 days isn’t going to guarantee anything. We need to figure out what’s wrong with him,
