  1. Lol. It’s important not to spread disinformation. So I simply pointed out that the information you posted was not accurate. I wasn’t rude about it, I just pointed out that I checked and were 5-5 in their last 10 so it couldn’t be true. So I point out the mistake, and rather than simply acknowledge the mistake and move on, first you sarcastically note that 5-5 in their last 10 doesn’t mean they’re in a tailspin either and then call me out for “freaking out” when I wasn’t. I *still* don’t get worked up about that and just point out that I’m not worked up about it and think we just need to hang in there until we get healthy. Then in response, you accuse me of being “unreasonably negative” (huh??) and then post a snarky meme and sarcastic comment telling me to “enjoy your pendatry”. 🤦‍♂️ Your “larger point” was not ignored, it was addressed by me directly when I said we need to hang in there and not get too far behind until we can get our best players healthy again. I’ve done absolutely nothing to warrant your bizarrely escalating responses. I pointed out a minor inaccuracy in a statement you made. That was literally it. As you say, you do you, I guess.
  2. Not freaking out at all. Just pointing out the inaccuracy. I’ve said all along they just need to tread water and at least stay within striking distance of 1st until mid to late May when they start getting healthy again.
  3. I don’t even know why I bother to ask these questions on a message board, even when framed in the most tactful, calm way possible. Yes, I suppose it’s true that the Brewers gave him the contract with the hopes and anticipation of further development with the bat. I suppose I could apply this line of thinking to every personnel move that they make and not look to analyze or question any of it. Good stuff, thank you. It’s definitely true that even if all we get in a a utility infielder, it’s not a contract that is going to cause a great deal of payroll pain, even in the peak years.
  4. The cardinal sin of that play was less the swing and the fact that they didn’t have Turang on the run from 1st. If you’re assuming that you’re going to get a hittable pitch and green lighting Contreras, there is almost no downside to sending the runner, especially with another runner on 3rd. Had they done so a run would have scored and they would have still had a runner in scoring position with two outs.
  5. I haven’t checked the math on this but I know they were 5-5 in their last 10 when I looked at the standings yesterday so I don’t see any possibility that they’re 6-4 in their last 10 now.
  6. I hope someone has the stones to ask him why Turang wasn’t running if Contreras was getting green lighted on a 3-0 count with runners on 1st and 3rd and 1 out.
  7. Quickly becoming? They became that like 2 weeks ago. It’s a bunch of gas cans and then about 2 good arms that will be dead by September.
  8. - Didn’t run with Turang to stay out of the double play when green lighting Contreras on a 3-0 count with 1st and 3rd and 1 out, costing a run. - Hit into another double play in the 7th with the bases loaded and a chance to put the game away. - Pulled Sproat when he was cruising with a very low pitch count in favor of a bullpen that has struggled all season. Way to get to Skubal a little bit, finally get the bottom of your order going a little bit, and leave with absolutely nothing to show for it.
  9. Brewers put on an absolute clinic today on how to pull defeat from the jaws of victory.
  10. I would also like to have a bullpen that is available later in the year and September and later.
  11. Just too many tailor made GIDP in big situations today. The one with Contreras up and Turang not running is especially frustrating because it was bad baseball and entirely preventable.
  12. I mean I’m not a big sac bunt guy at all but it’s Luis Rengifo. Better take what you can get.
  13. Another consequence of going to the pen early today when there was very little reason to remove the starter.
  14. I don’t know what we saw in Zerpa, but he’s been a very poor return on investment so far. Those big GIDPs by Turang and Contreras with chances to break the game open loom large right now.
  15. Did not have Matos, Perkins, Ortiz and Hamilton all getting hits in the same inning on my bingo card today.
  16. Murphy’s handling of the pitching staff is just really odd to me in general. Some guys get the kid glove treatment, other guys get ridden into the ground, and there doesn’t seem to be any real rhyme or reason on who gets what treatment.
  17. No, I’m saying situationally, it’s almost always better to take 3-0. Even if it’s a strike it’s still a high probability of a walk which is a good result. 3-1 is still a very good hitters count. Like I said, it does depend too on the guy on deck, I’ll take my chances with Sanchez, not so much with Matos. And if you’re going to green light, crazy not to have Turang in motion to at least stay out of the double play.
  18. Sproat really did a nice job after the 1st and I just don’t understand the quick hook and again making an overworked pen carry the load.
  19. I’m almost never an advocate of swinging 3-0 and that AB was no exception. Maybe if Matos or Ortiz was on deck I could get on board with this a little more. But I’ll take my shot with the bases loaded and 1 out for Sanchez a single away from taking the lead.
  20. Fundamentally we have exasperated our major lineup holes by doing everything we can to make extra outs the last two games.
