This is the only thing that makes sense to me. They were going to IL him after the game and he didn’t feel the injury warranted going on the IL so he basically just asked them to move on instead in hopes that he can catch on elsewhere rather than just sit and not play for the next couple weeks.
I don’t see the Brewers of all teams just suddenly deciding during a game that they’re done with a guy.
I don’t think that’s happening for a long, long time. I really hope not, anyway.
Doing away with something that is a long engrained part of Brewer culture itself, even if it isn’t profitable, is a dangerous step.
Gotta be Rengifo to the IL.
They wouldn’t have just spontaneously decided in the middle of the game to DFA Rengifo or option Ortiz. That would have been decided before the game, and Pratt wouldn’t have been in the Nashville lineup at all.
