Let’s manage the clock well, please. If we only get 3, we only get 3 but with 2 minutes left and all our timeouts at midfield, there’s zero reason for it to be because we ran out of time again.
It looked initially like he started to slide and then balked. So I think that’s how the call was missed, they threw the flag thinking there was a slide at first.
It’s not us so much. It’s more that the Dodgers are distancing themselves further and further from the NL field. They were never in any trouble in the NLCS. I don’t see us closing the gap without some structural changes.
I don’t know what your source is on this, but there is absolutely no way that runner on 3rd/1 out has a more than double probability of scoring at least one run versus man on 2nd/0 outs. There’s no way that math is close.
I can’t think of one single time recently where everything worked exactly in sequence to succeed - the bunt was laid down and advanced the runner, then the contact with a man on 3rd and 1 out scored a run.
It never worked out. Something always went wrong.
A 14 game win streak, an emotional NLDS win, a 6-0 record against the eventual WS champs, all for the freaking Dodgers to repeat.
What a dumb game and league.
LOL at a professional manager giving away an out with the game on the line and putting his entire season in the hands of a sac bunt.
You deserve what you get.
