    I mean, I believe you, and yes it’s his job to keep an eye on the play clock as he’s coming up to the line, no excuse. Just saying, it’s been an ongoing issue.

    I didn’t see who was to blame for the timeout, but it’s true that it’s been a systemic problem. There were halves when you’d be lucky if Rodgers left you with 1 to use in the 2 minute drill.

    Sure, but he’s notorious for poor deep ball accuracy, so it’s not particularly surprising. I'm not opposed to putting the 4th down on Love, but the play call on 3rd to even put them in that situation was absolute dung.

    Regardless of called or checked into, over and over again for a number of years we have been going deep on 4th and short, usually with poor results.

    Only took 6 minutes into the game for our first stupid penalty. No real surprise that it’s Quay Walker.

    I’m really glad the Packers play in the NFC so the Chiefs aren’t really consequential to us unless we reach the Super Bowl. I’d be absolutely sick watching them as another AFC teams’ fan and seeing how many 3rd and 4th and goals they get bailed out on with penalties.

    Which secondary guys in particular do you think didn’t get enough work? It’s not like Koenig and Grant Anderson didn’t also get ridden pretty hard. Mears a little less so but that was partly because of the IL stint and he was definitely wearing down late.

    But you can use your best relievers less often if your secondary relievers are better, I think was his main point. I find it a little surprising that Miz never seemed to wear down? He threw his best innings in the playoffs. And we rode him far beyond what I thought would be his comfortable innings limit this year. So I wonder if they are comfortable dialing him up to 170 next year.

    Just as a matter of speculation, what kind of extension after next year do you think it would take to get Freddy to stay? 5 years/$175M? Not advocating for it more just curious.

    I'd also venture to guess that if every hitter in our lineup produced the same ABs as Caleb Durbin in the NLCS, we’d have won the series, or at least would still be playing.

    So Caleb Durbin is not as good as Shohei Ohtani. Alright. Glad we’ve established that.

    Yeah I don’t think depth played into the NLCS defeat much. I think the lack of any studs in the lineup did.

    Maybe. But I guess I would still stand by my point that it wouldn’t make much financial sense for him to pitch for us for 20 million, when he can get 10 million to not pitch for us plus whatever another team will give him to pitch for them.

    Woody owes us nothing. The production that he gave us for many years was far more valuable than his cost relative to comparable free agent production.

    Gunnar would be a dream but I don’t think the Orioles would even pick up the phone. They will definitely see this past season as an aberration and expect to contend again.

    I think the buyout makes it nearly certain he won’t be back. That’s a surplus of 1/10 for him on the option and he can do far better than that on the open market. He proved he could pitch effectively after the shoulder surgery, that was the big thing for him. The lat strain is unfortunate but unrelated, and this is the first time really in his career that he’ll have an opportunity to enter free agency fully healthy. I think he deserves to take advantage of that and get 3/75 from somebody and I think he will.

    I am ok with either way, keeping him or trading him. I think people will be underwhelmed with a Peralta return. The comp is probably the Burnes trade, which was Ortiz, DL Hall, and Blake Burke. Has had some moments where it looked good but it looks like a whole lot of meh right now.
