    The one prospect the Cubs gave up were better than both Frias and Ragsdale but the combined assets of both of them was pretty comparable value.

    Don’t fool yourself into thinking “this is all still okay” just because we’re still up 6 tonight no matter what happens. We could easily, easily play ourselves back into a 3 game wild card series even if we hang onto the division.

    Turang is a vet. Vets are untouchable. Yelich could pants him in front of his kids at a postgame press conference and would still be in the lineup the next day.

    Contreras swung at Ball 4 on the first 3-2 pitch and it would have been bases loaded with nobody out. Those are the little things that kill you in big games. Like Vaughn swinging at ball 4 earlier and grounding into a double play instead of having 1st and 2nd with nobody out.

    At least he would have been easily correct. Can’t say I blame him, there’s a few of these umpires who won’t grant it if you’re making the move to your helmet a split second after they call the pitch.
