  1. Nope. But they’ll never bench him. Just back in the top of the order like it’s on autopilot.
  2. Said yesterday that he’s perfectly healthy.
  3. I’ve had it with Yeli. Just beyond useless.
  4. Unfortunately, we’ve yet to give them any reason not to.
  5. Turang leading off, Yelich batting 3rd. You definitely cannot accuse Murphy of not being willing to go down with this ship. Fully expecting Turang to lean into a 2 out fastball off the kneecap down 10-1 in the 9th and not be ready for Spring Training because that’s just kind of how things work for us.
  6. Salary cap could also be a “careful what you wish for” situation. Gaining a salary cap but having free agency reduced from 6-7 years to 3-4 could be massively detrimental to teams that rely heavily on scouting and development.
  7. I know a salary cap works for the NFL, but I don’t think MLB will ever get one through the MLBPA. I think revenue sharing is the key. If every owner is pulling from the same pot, “small market” becomes much less of an issue. I mean, the Green Bay Packers are by far the smallest market in professional sports, and it’s not like they don’t make enough money to support a $200M payroll. I also think there should be better regulation on what percentage of revenue is going to payroll. For the Brewers, it’s about 40%. But there are teams as high as 90% and teams as low as 20-30%. Why the disparity? I’m not saying every team should be exactly the same, but there shouldn’t be such a wide range. Finally, the deferral loopholes need to be closed. Either limit it or in some way regular it better, like charging part of the future deferrals to the present and charging the future inflation adjusted amount.
  8. I think it’s the 2027 season at risk, currently.
  9. I have to say as well, it’s a good and fair take by @willie key. Yes it’s true that the Dodgers have a system advantage, but it’s hard to bemoan a system when even a moderate timely offensive outburst would have us up 2-1 going into Game 4. The Dodgers are beating us because our bats went cold at the worst possible time.
  10. Tradionally managed baseball games still require runs to win, and we haven’t been scoring any. I don’t think it shows any lack of confidence or incompetence. It’s nothing more than trying to get a better matchup out of the gate against their two best hitters. Quintana will probably start tonight, and they’ll probably go the more traditional route, but more because he happens to be lefty.
  11. Man it’s crazy that Mitchell is 27.
  12. So his next step is to see Christian Watson’s hamstring doctor who can help redirect his ailments to his ACL.
  13. One thing that really surprised me is how much they pushed Miz this year and how much he responded late. 142 innings (minors plus majors, including playoffs) was a huge increase for him, I think 98 was his last year. So he’s definitely a big part of their plans in 2026 and I’m sure they plan to stretch him out further. I sadly don’t expect Woodruff back, but hope to be wrong. Peralta could go either way, I can see a trade if the offer is right or I can see him staying for his last year. Quintana being back would be nice. There will be probably be some veteran scrap heap/reclamation project regardless like him, Miley, etc.
  14. We need a shortstop, I really do believe that. Ortiz just isn’t it and Made just is too far away. We need like a 2 year stopgap. The needs aren’t much besides that, depending on what happens with Peralta and maybe Woodruff. I’m excited to see if Quero makes the big league roster next year.
  15. No matter what happens tomorrow, this years playoff was better than hearing a heartbroken Uek call the 9th inning of Game 3 of last years’ Wild Card. As a matter of personal pride, I hope we can at least win a game tomorrow and not get swept.
  16. Can’t believe how much this series swung when Brice got out of the way. It’d likely be 2-1 even with everything gone wrong with a chance to even it up tomorrow and guarantee Game 6.
  17. As it turns out the MLB ranking of us at #4 of the final 4 teams was more just an accurate ranking of the final 4 teams rather than a disrespectful slight.
  18. Yeah I mean, I guess it depends on the long-term risks. He’s got 6 months to recover soon, regardless .
  19. Hard to say. I didn’t honestly think after Game 1 of the NLDS that we’d see him again til 2026.
  20. I’m disappointed that it hasn’t been a competitive series. I didn’t think the odds of winning were great, but I thought we could maybe push it to 6. Still could, but it looks like a sweep or gentleman’s sweep incoming. I really am disappointed that the “Brewers will get swept” narrative looks like to be coming to fruition.
  21. The 21 year old hitter and 23 year old pitcher were the best players on our team in October. Experience isn’t everything.
  22. Or whatever treats the quivering lip that results from seeing the Cubs’ ripped on.
  23. Honestly, we rode him harder this year than I ever thought we would. 141+ innings between AAA and MLB including postseason. Huge step up.
  24. Well I would venture to say it’s a must win.
  25. Toronto is getting back in their series. I don’t know why that makes it hurt worse, but it does.
