Did he even end up playing a single snap at CB?

Will Sheppard got cut, so get ready for another exciting season of the most pointless player in football, Bo Melton.
  3. adambr2
I definitely preferred McCord over Tyrod. However, knowing what they were going to try to do anyway, which is cut McCord and try unsuccessfully to sneak him onto the practice squad, I guess I will take the 6th. Here’s hoping Love doesn’t get hurt at all this season.

They have definitely kind of settled in to being the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFC. And they seem perfectly content with that.

Cal Adomitis released. The loyalty that this organization has to Matt Orzech, who has consistently graded out as one of the worst long snappers in the NFL, is baffling. Orzech sucks. He was awful in 2024, and not much better in 2025. Why do we as an organization do things like this? If Smack, whose operation with Adomitis was perfect in the pre-season, starts missing kicks in the regular season, all eyes should be on the coaching staff and front office.

This thread for some reason really illustrates to me how far our 26 man roster has come. We don’t really need any major reinforcements. Remember when the Brewers 7-9 stretch of the lineup was basically bathroom break time? We were trotting out Perkins, Rengifo, and pre-good Joey Ortiz nightly. Now we expect contributions up and down the lineup every night. When is the last time you saw the phrase “black hole” in a game thread?

FWIW, the Brewers have 39 players on their 40 man roster so someone can be added with losing anyone off the 40. I had really hoped Blake Burke would rake when he came up to Nashville because he could have made for an interesting decision as he can provide an element of power that no one else in the system besides Fischer can do. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. Adams you could make a better argument for but he doesn’t have that one real great niche skill that would find him a way to some ABs. I think he’d just sit on the bench. So, it will be sensible but unexciting. Lockridge or Naylor. On the pitching side, still need spots for Uribe and Romero so it is more about who goes down between Wilson or Anderson. Since Anderson can be optioned, I’d guess it’s him.

Miz Henderson Harrison Megill Uribe Romero Ashby Hall Drohan Gasser Senzatela Patrick May Turang Chourio Mitchel Bauers Vaughn Ortiz Pratt Hamilton Lara Frelich Yelich Contreras Sanchez It seems pretty straightforward this year. I wanted to maybe carry an extra position player and leave off a pitcher because they’ve been known to do that, but I couldn’t find one that made sense. They simply don’t really have much use for Lockridge. Naylor? I guess maybe if he gets the September call up and performs well, they could carry an extra catcher to have Sanchez off the bench against lefties. If they go that route, maybe Gasser is left off. For now, he’s the emergency guy to mop up innings if a game gets into a blowout situation. Miz/Henderson/Harrison are your big 3 and I’d guess if they need a 4th starter it comes down to Drohan or May depending on how both look in September, but a bullpen heavy approach is possible. No room for Bryse or Grant Anderson.

And I personally would not move him back to the top of the order or leadoff or anything like that. He’s finally comfortable and getting into a rhythm, leave it alone.
  10. adambr2
Lol a .560 OPS DH with a horrific challenge.
  11. adambr2
That comp pick was basically the comp pick that we would have received if we had held Burnes, though, which the Orioles used to select prospect Cadine Bodine at #30 in 2025. So that part of the trade is essentially net zero.
  12. adambr2
I thought I remember Andrew Abbott giving us fits, but I could be misremembering. Anyway, he kind of sucks today. PCA is obnoxiously going to win MVP pretty easily, I think. Mets gonna Met,
  13. adambr2
I think most people were saying last season when he went down that we were toast. So I think people know it’s a huge deal. They shouldn’t be atrocious, though. They were a top 5-10 defense in 2024 before Micah with most of the same supporting cast otherwise, They shouldn’t have been as bad as they were without him,
  14. adambr2
Hopefully this is the “it’s preseason and most of these guys won’t make the team anyway” defense for the Packers.
  15. adambr2
Right. You can get a DUI at .06, but it’s a weak case. It’s not 95% likely to get a conviction. If it was, they wouldn’t offer a deal. And no, I had a bulb out on my back license plate. Nothing more.
  16. adambr2
What is up with the absolute stupidity with the bunts tonight?
  17. adambr2
Agreed, he overuses the bunt. Understand the situation.
  18. adambr2
Didn’t see it, was he clearly sac bunting or bunting for a hit? Wouldn’t make any sense to sac bunt there.
  19. adambr2
Feel like we went a little far with this lefty heavy thing. I understand Bradford has significant reverse splits, but it’s a pretty small sample — he had traditional splits in his previous two seasons. Doesn't feel like Vaughn should ever be sitting against LHP.
  20. adambr2
I mean I see countless examples of that and was one. In 2010 I left a bachelor party in Dane County and feeling like I wasn’t intoxicated, stupidly attempted to drive back to my hotel. To the surprise of the cops when they took my BAC, it only came back at .06. Still, they charged me with DUI. My first court date I plead not guilty and they quickly after offered to reduce it to a reckless driving knowing they did not have a very strong case, and they (correctly) assumed that I’d just take the deal and pay the $390 fine and keep my license rather than pay thousands to roll the dice. I also know of several people personally who were charged with felonies initially just to have them reduced to misdemeanors later.
  21. adambr2
DA’s overcharge cases all the time that they don’t think they have a great chance of getting a conviction on, certainly not 95%. Often as a leverage tactic to plea bargain down to something less.

I don’t know where you would even draw the line. If I’m going to quit football then I need to quit baseball and basketball too as you alluded to. Did anyone stop going to the movies when they found out that Harvey Weinstein is a dirtbag and there are undoubtedly other dirtbags out in Hollywood that we don’t even know about? My kids are very into WWE so I get into it with them and I’m well aware that the whole McMahon family is pretty gross and TKO is in my mind about the most morally bankrupt company out there. At some point I think you just have to be entertained by what you’re entertained by and accept that there’s detestable people in every entertainment industry out there.
  23. adambr2
I don’t care about the whole “Packer people” thing but when your transgressions are caught on video, that’s always a little bit of a different situation, If the video indeed is made public and is as bad as described, it is hard to come back from that.
  24. adambr2
I don’t think they will but they should.
  25. adambr2
They’re playing the Braves and wrapping up a top 2 seed relative to being a 3 is more important than the difference between a 2 and a 1.
