  1. We’ll see what happens with Gary, but after how horrific he was the last 10 games, I’m not optimistic and would be fine with moving on. The sad thing is he was probably one of the better Brian Gutekunst 1st round picks. We have a “type.” Raw athletic freaks with “projectables” that didn’t have eye popping numbers in college. It is probably time for a new type.
  2. I can’t believe the Bears got a 2nd round pick for DJ Moore who was probably going to be their 4th target this year. It’s obnoxious seeing all these other teams just give great deals to the Bears. The 1.01 Bryce Young trade continues to pay dividends.
  3. Those couple weeks in February thinking that maybe we were good again were fun.
  4. I’m definitely not saying it’s the end all be all. It’s just not the greatest thing to see following a pretty tumultuous end to the season and an extension that went against the wishes of a good percentage of the fanbase as it is. FWIW, I believe Mike Tomlin also got an “A”, and that had to be the most stale program in football. I don’t remember the exact dialogue in the interviews, but I remember this past season in interviews, there being some disconnect between Lafleur and McManus that just seemed a little like “ok, maybe this guy isn’t as immensely popular with the players as perception would indicate, at least not all of them.”
  5. Well, there is some context available. Any player that was on the Packer roster at any time during 2025 was eligible for the poll, and there were 1,759 responses. We don't know exactly how many of them were Packers, but 1,759 is an average of 55 per team. So we know it is a pretty good sample size, not just a few. You are correct that I did not want MLF to return and if he had gotten an A+, I would still have the same reservations about him. However, I would take some solace in knowing that despite how I felt, an A+ response clearly indicated that he hadn't lost the locker room and had the support of the players. The fact is, one of the main talking points for MLF supporters has always been "but he is very well-liked by the players". The fact that this doesn't look like this is actually the case, is not encouraging. It doesn't guarantee that he's lost the locker room, but we can definitely deduce that he doesn't have the support of all of it. I can't speculate what his B- grade would have been had the survey been taken after the season, but it's certainly not a huge stretch to suggest that it would have been lower. Rich Bisaccia, for all his faults, seemed to be relatively well-liked among the players. I'll admit this, despite not caring to have him back, personally. Rich B and Hafley were our most popular coaches, and MLF and Stenavich were the least. I don't feel great about hitching our long-term wagon to guys who clearly aren't as popular among the players as we thought. It just seemed like a really obvious fork in the road time for a soft reset, and we didn't do it. Now we've essentially taken guys off the hot seat without even having to earn their way off of it. What's our path forward if we go 10-7 next season and get dumped in the WC round as a 7 seed again? Just run it back again in 2027? Keep bringing the band back every year as long as we can pat ourselves on the back for making the playoffs again? Because I see that as well within the likely range of outcomes.
  6. Perhaps a B minus doesn’t look like a bad grade on the surface. Until you look at your peers and see that only 6 of them got worse grades and 4 of those got fired.
  7. I like Richardson the most, but one year is probably not going to be enough to turn him around much, and if it is, he’ll be gone anyway. Ridder is probably the leading candidate, but I don’t feel great about that. The veteran stopgap backup market would include Joe Flacco and Russell Wilson.
  8. Its literally what the Packers players’ private opinions of Matt Lafleur were *before* the 5 game losing streak, so it’s not great.
  9. Turning a 16 point 3rd quarter lead into a 23 point blowout loss is quite the accomplishment.
  10. Anyway, I don’t look at Aubrey like I do most other kickers. I think he is pretty special. When you can literally be in field goal range at midfield it really changes the entire field position game for you. I don’t really know how to quantify that with average players from regular positions. Given how bad our ST units have been overall it would be nice to have one of the top kickers and punters in the league. As others have pointed out and I mentioned earlier in this thread I know we do have a ton of needs, so I get that. We are in a very challenging position.
  11. AJ Dillon?
  12. You guys are going to be really disappointed when we use our 2nd this year for some H-back blocking TE or a backup RB for Josh Jacobs.
  13. The Cowboys are placing a 2nd round RFA tag on Brandon Aubrey if they can’t reach a deal. I can’t be the only one who thinks giving up the 2nd and giving him $9M a year isn’t a terrible idea.
  14. The worst part about this is that the survey was conducted BEFORE the playoffs and 5 game losing streak to end the season. Matt Lafleur has clearly lost the team and Ed Policy had the perfect excuse for a reset and he extended him.
  15. It’s a bad look.
  16. I mean I think we all know Adam Stenavich is the textbook definition of “just a guy.” MLF basically runs the offense, so as long as that’s the case there isn’t a big name OC that is going to want to come be his figurehead.
  17. From the NFLPA team report cards:
  18. Firmly back on the 8/9 line.
  19. My point stands though, that there is a growing number of holes on this roster and no real easy way to fill all of them. I don’t know how we find corner help while also finding offensive line depth while finding a pass rusher, backup QB, kicker, and possibly Jacobs’ replacement. It is going to need to be a home run of a draft in 2026 and/or some real big improvement from what looks like a pretty mediocre 2025 draft class so far.
  20. It’s hard to see us going into 2026 with a better roster than 2025. Our O-line isn’t very deep and will lose Walker. Our RB corps is not very good behind Jacobs and he doesn’t look like he has much left. I’m ok with our WRs, but we will lose Doubs. We always had a chance with Willis in the game, we will not have that same luxury anymore when Love misses games. It may be Desmond Ridder or a similar caliber. D-line continues to be a need. Secondary continues to be a need. If Gary is cut, which is likely, we’ll need a replacement for him. We will likely be in the market for a new kicker. I'm not trying to be all doom and gloom here, because we have a few studs to lean on, but that is basically the plan now — pray that Love, Parsons, Kraft, Wyatt and Tom all stay healthy, because we don’t the draft capital nor the cap space to adequately address all the holes on the roster. The last 5 games of 2025 gives us a pretty good idea where we are at without our studs.
  21. Thomas has been a nice addition.
  22. This game had letdown written all over it. I had hoped it wouldn’t be this bad, though.
  23. Can’t really take polling very seriously anymore if the Badgers don’t crack the top 25 next week.
  24. I’ve tried to get that train going, but everyone just raves about his glove.
  25. With Seigler now in Boston, I fully expect Rengifo to challenge Jake Bauers for clubhouse whipping boy.
