  1. George Webb's After the 7-1 win Monday, I was hungry for 6-for-5 burgers at Webbs all day Tuesday. We sit down at 6 and the waitress informs us the offer isn't good because the offer ends 24 hours after the conclusion of the preceding game. We go to the game Tuesday and the ad running between innings states "offer good until midnight the following day."
  2. Don't worry, BHF. It was opening day, you will see people like that. That's why I don't go to OD anymore. Betcha that's the only game he attends this year.
  3. Only a 2:15 game? I wonder if the fans in attendance got their money's worth? For the Brewer Killer thread: Brady Clark I had to laugh at CBS's gamecast: "Temp 59 F. Pleasantly cool."
  4. Storming the field was a no-no, but people did it anyways. Oglivie had his wrist hurt when the fans rushed the field in the ALCS. Yes, good to see the classics. But the one I was looking forward to the most was the Yankee game in '81 and they didn't show it. Pro baseball has been around 125 years, yet it's interesting to see how the game has evolved just the last 25 years: - no pitch counts; just before Yount's homer, the comment that both pitchers are at 180 pitches. - no LOGGY's yet.
  5. Bah, thundershowers in the forcast for Saturday the 31st.
  6. First, let's make sure there isn't a high school game going on.
  7. Nah, just wait until the church team plays Bay Street Pub. That should be an eye-opener for them.
  8. 2-4 record last year vs. the three returning teams.
  9. I have contact with the White House team.
  10. Good question, appearantly no one knows. For the '82 reunion five years ago the Mileaukee Journal Sentinel listed Marshall Edwards as "whereabouts unknown".
  11. per razzzor's request Brewerfan.net Announced C Brian The Automator, radman12484, IF Iron Chef Napalm, valpocrewsader, brewerjamie15, razzzorsharp, bball123h, OF AJAY, Houlie24x, colbyjack, AJOHNSON104, nullbyte, U Robin19, Jimbo exercised their option for the 2007 season. Place P Brewer Fever on the military list. Announced OF DougJones43 declined arbitration and declared free agancy. Signed My94rt, rightomac13 and Brewerfabmatt to one-year contracts with an invitation to spring training.
  12. Was this the 82 Angels or 81 Yankees? I had the schedule clipped out and I thought it said 28th, but closer inspection it says 26th. Ugh.
  13. Well, on Saturday the union approved a new contract with the company, part of which now is we are only shutdown for one week in July instead of two. This means five vacation days are freed up for me to play with. I now have some in interest in Detroit.
  14. This was a regular occurrance. Back in the 70's Dodger fans were known to be ballot box stuffers. Bowie Kuhn gave the voting back to the fans just a few years earlier.
  15. Table for two, please? We'll arrive early, maybe around 8 or so.
  16. A note to the younger fans: this game may not get the nostalga that the no-hitter or Easter Sunday game gets, but this was a biggie. I was attending the UW and remember a couple of classmates in an engineering class heading down to Chicago from Madison after class on a Monday evening to catch this. You don't hear Wisconsinites doing this anymore. This game had World Series intensity.
  17. I was at that game. I even kept score. I was going to scan it and upload it here, but never got around to it.
  18. OK, I remember now. This was a Friday night game, and I was working second shift at the time (against my will). >: What I remember better was the game the following day. Toronto had just made the big deadline trade to get David Cone. It was NBC's Game Of The Week and the Brewers roughed up Cone.
  19. No pitch counts. No gun. Jamie, I'm looking your way come BF softball.
  20. Imagine Darren calling this classic? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  21. Bunt single by Schroeder. Anyone else remember Schroeder's bunt single against KC? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. We have off work this week. I was planning to pick up my check Friday afternoon. Just found out this afternoon this week's paycheck isn't available on Friday because the office will be closed (but it was available today). Now I have to wait until Tuesday to get it. I didn't know this. I'll be writing a letter to the president. The communication at this company really sucks.
  23. "You know waitresses, they all look the same." "(I can't go to Jamaica), I have class."
  24. Will we be cooking up some food, or ordering bar food? We may be able to help set up. Depends. Just realized we have Badger basketball tickets for 11:17 am that day. Either stay in Madison all day, or make two trips the same day.
