    Yes, a very enjoyable win. I'm in the minority, that I'm neutral on the whole Counsel thing. So beating him didn't matter much to me. Just the psychological boost by snapping the series losing streak, and the regular season justified by taking advantage of the 1-seed. And sending home a group of people who posses a high snootiness level. As a child of the 70's, the LCS and WS really only matter to me. To me LCS >> LDS. The win was nice, but more important games to follow. Prior to the game, I was resigned to prepare for the worst but hope for the best. A loss would have sucked, but I would have been over it in a week. The first post-season match up between the two clubs, but I'm sure more to follow in the next 25 years. Future opportunities for revenge if it came to it. I'm streaming the Chicago Marathon right now and thinking how cool it would have been to be there strutting around downtown in Brewers swag.

    The only thing giving me comfort right now is that Poto has MIL -148/CHC +123. Basically a 57/43 proposition. These are the people that should know. About to get the oven ready for a pizza and sit down nervously for three hours. If the Brewers are behind mid-9th, I may not watch the end, even if a walk-off is possible.

    They throw a lot numbers and stats on the screen, but the one that caught my eye was this being the 55th post-season game in club history. I would have guessed thirties, given the the 26-year drought. Caught the guy behind the Cubs' dugout wearing a "bambi bombers" T-shirt. I had the exact same shirt, but faded 40 years ago. How did he keep it looking so new?

    That's the run line. Meaningless. All the games are 1.5 runs. The Brewers are -155 to win, a solid favorite.

    Using my stat skills, I computed the odds of attending 1-9 as 1:4,454. The Brewers have lost four (out of 154) games that had a win prob >90%. You've seen three. Those odds are 1:12,204. Please, stay away.

    I had two options this afternoon: Option A) Watch Badgers football. Option B) Watch the replay of the women's marathon World Championship race from last Saturday. I made the correct choice. And was more entertained.

    We all love Charlie, but he couldn't hit for a catcher. Hence, the trade for Simmons. Moore either moves to RF or rides the bench as a backup C.

    Hawing is correct. My photographic memory isn't always spot on. Lorn Brown was Uecker's partner in '80 and '81. Mosley in '82 and '83. I thought they both were "meh". WISN had the radio rights in '81 and '82. Background: I was in attendance at the game. I didn't have privy to the calls until after the fact. Then I heard it was Mosley who did the ninth and it always stuck with me all these years why Ueck wasn't doing the ninth. It wasn't until the film came out last fall that I see extensive coverage of the locker room and Ueck was there for television, therefore unavailable for radio. So that is why seeing that clip on Sunday caught me by surprise. It is Mosley's voice in the posted video. My fears are confirmed. Disappointed the Brewers would do this. Also, pretty disrespectful to Dwayne Mosely.

    OK, I may get flamed for this one. During the Uecker Tribute on Sunday, clips were played of his famous radio calls. One clip was the final out in '82 against the Angels. I could swear to my dying day that Loren Brown worked the radio in the ninth and Uecker was in the clubhouse working for ABC. Please tell me this isn't a case of history revisionism. If so, I will be very disappointed.

    Not sure if this is the right thread, but I see no other place. During the ceremony, it was mentioned twice that he stayed close to the team by throwing BP each day. My contribution. Bob Uecker finishing BP, Metropolitan Stadium, 1979.

    Was running a little late to the game tonight, so almost passed up on the getting my usual scorecard. But quick got one anyways thinking "what if...". And still got to my seat one second before the first pitch.

    Mark Ciardi. I was thinking of him Saturday when the team was going for 14. Mark Ciardi was the staring pitcher the game the 1987 Brewers were going for the 14-0 season start.
