  1. ON: P Connor Thomas, Rule V
  2. My wife walks into the room, "Look, it's Shabozi!" I did not watch the fourth quarter, but did see the final play on CBS post game. Chicago Sports Radio: "Matt Eberflus ought to just walk into the interview room and just resign." Interesting that it was a CBS game and not a FOX game. Yeah, I know things have changed. Just hard to follow anymore.
  3. OFF: P Hoby Milner, non-tendered ON: P Chad Patrick, selected P Logan Henderson, selected
  4. The Bears did the same thing to the Packers, soon after Walter's death.

  6. I was at the game and seeing the play develop from high up was a thing of beauty. Even sweeter was being surrounded by 90% Packer fans.
  7. I'm a sliver surprised about not sniffing the Top 25 after three nice wins in the B1G.
  8. I could see at the top of the screen he was sprinting down the sideline at the snap.
  9. The ball is placed 25 yards from the kick scrimmage. The KO was from the 50 after the penalty.
  10. It was a good ride while it lasted. I wonder if they'll have to play in Miami or AAA Jacksonville?
  11. From a probability standpoint: Take the eight series (excluding 1982), then the expectancy would be 4.25 pennants (vs actual 8) and 3.125 WS championships (vs 5 actual). Don't ask me to calculate the odds of current reality happening.
  12. Before Game 3, the Brewers were 94-3 when the win probability exceeded 90%. To have just three gut wrenching losses over a season is quite exceptional. That makes Thursday night harder to digest. The fangraphs' box score had Williams at -0.85 and Alonso at +0.56. Cannot remember the last thing seeing numbers like that. I've never been keen to the idea of having four different guys pitch the last four innings. Just increases the chances of one guy screwing up. Forty years ago, Rollie would have pitched three innings in a game like this. But that is how baseball is played now. I get it. The discussion at work this morning is 1) let Peralta pitch the ninth or 2) pull Williams after two batters. But I understand Murphy's thinking. This game reminds me of 2019 against the Nationals (although the Brewers were underdogs in that one). Both three rounds removed from the WS, so either exit doesn't pain me as much as the rest of the posters. Williams reminds me of Hader, just doesn't give that warm fuzzy feeling. Seems to me they are either on, or you can tell within the first two batters disaster is about to happen. Agree with the above poster about Megill, someone with a bulldog mindset/personna. On edit: a silver lining, if any, is that when I'm in Florida the last week of the month, I can enjoy my vacation and not be in agony about missing the first WS in 42 years. Going forward, no vacations mid-Sept to end-Oct.
  13. The odds of having two or fewer out of nine on coin flips is 9.0%
  14. A take from the 1982 film, the Brewers were gassed flying in to Anaheim and played flat the first two games. Things were happening so quickly.
  15. For some teams, ahem, a seven-point difference could be considered a two-possession game.
  16. Move the games to Milwaukee.
  17. Having been born in 1966, and watched the game on 3 October 1982 with nervous anticipation, and having watched the 1982 film this past weekend, I do not take what happened yesterday for granted.
  18. IIRC, the last everyday SS immediately prior to Yount.
  19. Not a fan of shotgun on 4th-and-1. Got really tired of that Ingrim guy, more so than Gus Johnson.
  20. OFF: P Rob Zastryzny, 60-day IL ON: P Enoli Paredes, activated The 40-man roster is full.
  21. Nobody ever talks about how 1982 could have played out if he was healthy and DH'ing.
  22. Browsing the results, I came across Deanna Favre's name. She crossed the finish line with 16 minutes to spare before the cutoff. I didn't see any media hype regarding her being in town.
  23. Still adapting to the relaxing of the NFL uniform number rule. RB is #8, K is #44, LB #7. Akin to watching NFL Films from the 60's.
  24. OFF: OF Christian Yelich, 60-day IL ON: OF Isaac Collins, activated The 40-man roster is full.
  25. Lincoln Park/Zoo cannot be that far away(?)
