  1. It's a lot easier to be chatty and look like you're having fun when your team wins a bunch. I think the team looks down because they are playing a lot worse than they expected.
  2. These numbers are crazy. We can't even do the "have the worst 3rd base WAR" right.
  3. The Brewers were barely above average OPS+ last year. They lost one of their better offensive players last year to free agency without doing anything to replace him. The best player got surgery and required two years to recover from his last major injury. Our MVP candidate is trying to play with a broken finger. I'm shocked the offense is so bad.
  4. Ortiz has been impressive defensively at short this year. Not making flashy plays but solid glive with a smoth arm. Wish he could hit.
  5. Maybe do us all a favor and trade him for a bag of balls?
  6. Broadcast: "umps are humans." If only we had the technology to take it out of falibale human hands...
  7. Do the Brewers seem to have more problems with their pitchcom system than other teams?
  8. I saw that the Giants/Mariners game was tied in the middle of the 9th. I decided to flip it on since the Brewers game has a delayed start. The Giants got a leadoff double. The next pitch was a wild pitch to let the runner advance. So runner on 3rd with no out, need to score the runner to win the game. Now it's in extras. So it isn't just the Brewers that fail to drive in runners in those crucial situations. Though it was funny to see the M's intentionally walk to get to Adames. Despite the situation Willy kept swinging to try to hit that three run homerun.
  9. The top (left) hand generally controls where the bat is in the zone and is responsible for "bat on ball". The bottom (right) hand generally drives the bat through the zone and is responsible for "bat speed". So a lingering problem in his right hand would lead to more "loss of power" and less "swing and miss".
  10. As a 46 year old I had to google the significance of Livvy Dunne.
  11. Paywall. Can some please explain the rule changes?
  12. Because the other owners are making money hand over fist. They can now not spend money on players because it "won't matter since LA is going to win anyway". These kind of things were stopped in other leagues (especially NHL) because some owners were actually losing money.
  13. This is still dumpster diving. But the Brewers FO are now acting like Peter Parker and getting usefull things out of the dumpster. So it's less complaining about needing to shop in the waste bins and more excitement to see how they make this piece useful. Still wish the economics would be fixed so this isn't the only option for the Brewers.
  14. I also want to know if amazon will have the same location based blackout rules.
  15. It's a cultural thing. Russian Eastern Orthodox Christmas is still 12 days away. Ukranian Orthodox had always followed the Russian style calendar until recently. So from the Russian view they are punishing people for choosing to celebrate on the wrong (pro-West) day. Note that I'm just pointing out it's more complicated than 'he attacked on a holy day'. Putin is still an as.....tounding stupid person for even invading no matter the day. Had to edit the last sentence.
  16. Or they need to trade a king's ransom in prospects for "proven" big leafue talent.
  17. It isn't Christmas yet.
  18. Funny tidbit: it only happened to me twice and both were to the same guy. I did break the streak and am now happily married. One year I hope the Brewers do the same at some point.
  19. Salt on the still open wound: Our "We Own the Central" shirts were delivered this morning.
