  1. The runner does not have the right to be in the way. The fielder has the right to go after the batted ball. If the runner is in the way that is interference. A quick look on my small phone screen says that was technically the correct call of interference. But I would either wave off the infraction or call it a dead ball and no catch. I made that exact call in youth baseball but the fielder has fallen and not made the catch.
  2. According to BBR, Verlander was 2-0 against the Brewers giving up 5 total runs in 4 games. Another interesting stat was that he had given up 5 HR to the Brewers so today also marked the first time the Brewers were able to score a run without a HR off Verlander. Verlander is still 16-0 in 21 games combined against the Cubs, Marlins, Phillies, Giants, and Nationals. Pretty amazing.
  3. We take the lead and he gives up a homer and a single. He should just be PO'd he wasn't able to get a clean 5th.
  4. There were a lot of good ABs so far this inning. Keep doing that.
  5. The broadcast mentioned that RH have been hitting .245 against Hader vs LH's .125. So it makes sense to PH a righty for a lefty against Hader. RH are .120 better than LH. Except that logic only holds if both hitters are the same. We took out Turang's .300 to put in Miller's .125. So they lost -.175 to get a .120 benefit. Not a winning move. Not part of this game, but I have no idea why Black was hitting 3rd in our lineup. We didn't think he was good enough to start the year in MKE. And we sent him down pretty quick. But when he was up here we had him hitting in the middle of our lineup? I'm looking forward to Weeks taking over the team.
  6. The Cards bench didn't like ball/strike calls since start of game. This was the 2nd time in as many innings they had to challange a call at 1st. They won both. So they felt the umps were against them on every call and were chirping from the dugout. Ump tossed the bench coach for yelling durring/after the review so the manager decided to vent his anger. The manager also had pent up anger from losing seven in a row and the rumors he is going to be fired.
  7. I guess the coach was hoping a throw was offline somewhere. I was shocked he didn't stop at 3rd. Missed a chance to real turn the screws.
  8. What a great game so far. Though bot sure it counts when the other team starts with a bowler on the mound.
  9. Dunn doesn't bounce throws to first. Not saying I agree with decision but it may be the explaination.
  10. 14-14. I think our division games are not going to go well.
  11. Ok. A very long bunt. Now let's get him in.
  12. Turang going to lead the inning with a bunt?
  13. I don't think Monasterio is that important to the team.
  14. It probably was a configuration issue. It cost money to run servers. They hadn't configured it to run enough (or powerful enough) servers. More specifically they didn't have it configured to add more power on demand. It wouldn't make sense to run enough servers every day all year. I once fixed my mobile app's performance problems by updating a configuration on a server. Someone had set the max size growth kind of low and nobody had looked at it as we got more and more users over the years.
  15. The video said it was for his "friends and family" so I think it will be non-athletes doing any swinging. He might feel like the fence is being respectful to his neighbors (even though it clearly isn't). The video also had the complainant state she is bound by HOA rules and he isn't. Yeah, that's life. I live on a cul-de-sac. The house at the entrance isn't part of the Condo Association. We just deal with the fact that he gets to do things we aren't allowed to do.
  16. Are you from the western part of WI? I have no ill will towards Minnesota or the Twins. I do have not nice feelings towards anything Illinois (which is closer to where I grew up) so wonder if that is the cause of our difference.
  17. You might get away with it once. I imagine they will try to send you a bill. If you don't pay (or if they can't figuring out where to send the bill) they will tow it if they see that plate again. If they do figure out where to send the bill they also have the option of just selling it to a debt collection service after some time frame.
  18. It's ridiculous that in this day and age we still have pitchers fielding bunts. How many pitchers need to get hurt before we change the rules? There should be a extra designated player who stands on the mound and fields for the pitcher. In other news, RF Coder is still salty and yelling at clouds. And not upset about what team had this happen.
  19. I'll say 75 wins. Not all of the youngsters hit so we end up selling small pieces (like the bullprn) at the deadline. This leads to a bad Sept record.
  20. The broadcast games are available on MLB.TV. It works great when you want to follow a team that doesn't claim your zip code. Just another option to get instead of Extra Innings.
  21. Happy the Cardinal rumors were false. Always like Woody the best out of the three for no reason. Glad he's back-ish.
  22. Imagine you're paid salary and not hourly. You put in a bunch of late nights to get projects done and help your co-workers. During your yearly review (aka arbitration) your boss says he's not paying you to work late and gives you no extra money because of it. Yes, he had the choice next year to continue working those extra hours. But I would be shocked if he made that choice.
  23. Don't kink shame me. It's a problem that the entire offseason has been about 3-4 players and the same 6ish teams are the only ones connected to those players. For those fans the offseason is fun. For the rest of the league it is boring. Maybe it's like that in other leagues? I don't pay attention to any other league's offseason to know.
