  1. *Robin19 reached on rightfielder's dropped fly, Rightomac13 scored. Booo. The RF was running in and could barely reach the ball. Home town scoring would have given me a single and RBI. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  2. Hardy had his at the beginning of the season to send a perennial doormat to the top of the league standings. Hart is doing his in the middle of a season with a non east coast team already on top of the standings.
  3. Think of how good the Brewers start would have been with him in the line-up from the start. Sheesh! And think of how much more money he would get as a Super 2. Not having Braun for 2 months could save the Brewers $10M. While not quite 25% for 15 min, it is still an impressive savings.
  4. I thought James Jerry was on the magnetic schedule? I know he's on my pre-season one, I don't remember any other one.
  5. Since April 20th or so, the Brewers and Cubs have really mirrored each other. That holds credence to the projection of 85 and 84 wins respectively. My question is why are the Brewers the red line and the Reds get the blue line?
  6. I have to use IE 6 at work. They do not grant me the power to download things (like Firefox) since it would be a "security risk". I wonder why that's a security risk but using IE 6 on Windows 98 isn't... "Sample" seems to be in a normal font. "One Two Three" is in a large font, like a headline tag was used on them. All are in bold black letters.
  7. You paid cable tv for the rights to watch the chanels in your own home. IIRC, bars and such have to pay more for cable then home owners since they have the ability to show it to more people. Paying for the service once does not give you the legal right to give away the item to whomever you want. Intelectual property is different than physical propety. You buy the right to view it, not own and distribute it. That's why losing a movie from Blockbuster costs so much. They pay for the right to distribute it, which is something like $80 per disc.
  8. They also loose pro-rated pay for serving a suspension. Therefore, it's not right to suspend a pitcher more than a position player since it will cost the pitcher more money. At least, that's the stance of the MLBPA.
  9. Which also means we have the best chance in the NL to get to the playoffs. Thanks for the link Russ, I was starting to get pretty depressed.
  10. I guess we'll just have to finish that trade for Ramirez. If Hall is down for an extended period, I hope we go get someone. I don't see an answer right now within the system.
  11. Mikevan, can you look up in your 2007 Sports Almanac and email me which games the Brewers will win? That way I don't have to sit through the heartbreak of them losing. Please please please, can we at least split the worst team in the central?
  12. IIRC, FSN was broadcasting more games then they had to this year. I think they only have to broadcast 115 games. (another sign that this tv deal stinks) So they could lose some games and be ok. And since Fox is the parent company of FSN, it might still count towards their total.
  13. I like Craig Killborn. I stopped watching the Daily Show when he left Comedy Central.
  14. He walked in a run on 4 pitches! When pitching with the bases loaded in a tie game walking a hitter is the one thing you cannot do! Throw a strike to give yourself a chance to get out of the inning. I would've rather seen him give up a hit at least he would be giving himself a chance! That's what we thought against Biggio earlier in the year and he hit his first grand slam. I think Spurling did fantastic in that game given the situation. Although I'm disappointed about the Twinkie walk off, the last guy in pen should not have been pitching in that situation imho. I would get rid of Spurling for quality reliever, but I don't think he's done that bad this year. And again, find one team that is satisfied with every one of their relief pitchers.
  15. I don't throw the ball back or support that action just because I hate Chicago fans so much.
  16. If the season gets pushed back, I can't make a July 19th game. That's game 2 of the CSFLBA World Series, and I'm the longest tenured ump (at 3 years).
  17. I can see the Derby lasting 13 hours as Russell just waits there trying to draw the walk...
  18. It didn't take long for Jack Flash-in-the-pan Wilson to rob a Brewer of a hit. When does Pitt build a new stadium?
  19. I started my Brewer beard last week. Expect me to keep it on for a while.
  20. Well, according to our schedule our last day is July 12th...
  21. It doesn't seem that odd. He was a coach in their system a decade ago and has experience in being in interim manager. My guess is that they don't have anyone planned and got this guy since there won't be a lot of pressure to keep him around full term. But for the sake of the Brewers, please do not get rid of your GM.
  22. I think ESPN ran out of money and is now out of business.
  23. if you want to reach the Cub Budweiser drinkers, wouldnt it make more sense to have non baseball related ads, seing as Miller Beer is already probably assosciated with Milwaukee Brewers in the minds of Cub fans? But using that same logic they shouldn't be drinking the beer associated with their arch rivals, nor that of Denver's team.
  24. The current jerseys were supposed to go with the new stadium. That's why the lettering on the jersey is the same font as the giant "Miller Park" on the front of the stadium. Miller Park Brewers Jersey
  25. Valpo started and Joe replaced him. I don't remember the inning. Sorry about my sucktitude at the plate this year. I'm hoping to earn Corporate Sponsor presents the Comeback Player of the Year next year. The problem with promotion/regulation is that in '05 my Fall team won the championship even though we were probably the 4th best team in the league. We got a couple of unbelievable wins (think Bf.net's first win against White House) and got the games we weren't in to fall just right to win the league by .5 game. We then got destroyed last year since we lost our starting SS, our 2B was hurt, and that was when I (starting 3B) was sick. I don't know if we would have scored a run if we were promoted. Also, we came into this year knowing some of the teams and players since the league is pretty similar to last year.
