  1. If I did my calculations correctly, he also has the highest BABIP for any position player on the Brewers at .380. I believe this means that he's been "lucky" and that his number will regress either later this season or next season.
  2. I will be rooting against him. Not because of his steroid use, but because I just don't like his personality. And, I like Hank and will always consider him a Milwaukee ball player. I never get this either. Pitchers share a locker room with hitters. If they see the hitters juicing and getting away with it, they'll start juicing at a similar rate. Maybe the records of today are a little deflated because of the juiced pitchers?
  3. I would have boo'd big time if he used our one hot hitter to sac bunt in the 6th. I would have done it in the 8th, but not that early. I'm mad that Davis walked Kevin "I refuse to walk" Mench in four pitches and we go up there hacking early in the count. I wouldn't be upset if they drove pitches right at guys for outs, but they were week flyballs to the opposite field.
  4. FWIW, a loudmouth braggard on one of my softball teams told me they were talking Cappy and Jr. for Willis. I didn't trust him at the time, but it looks like there is some talk along those lines. I wouldn't trade for Willis unless he's signed to a new deal. It would only be a rental for the rest of the year, and he's having a bad (for him) year. There is no need to trade for someone like that, unless we thought those comp picks were worth more than what we traded away.
  5. I wouldn't want Prince to take a swing at the opposing pitcher.
  6. shameless plug alert: Rent a vehicle from O'Hare and return it when you fly back out (for a short trip) or turn it in to Mitchell (for a long trip). There are two ways dropping at a different location works. Some companies charge a much higher rate for the entire time period, others charge a one time drop fee no matter the length of contract. I would at least look into it. I work for one of the rental companies at Mitchell.
  7. [ot]what would be really cool is that I could just download rosters directly online to my harddrive instead of buying tv shows and movies. I would actually go out and buy MS points if they offered this.[/ot] What are some of the "must-have" features this year besides roster updates?
  8. Vanilla is boring. Chocolate is way more important. It feeds your taste buds as well as your stomach. Geez, you guys are all idiots.
  9. The only cub fan I ever befriended had huge glasses. Hmm, never thought of that before...
  10. Mikevan had the best 29. I bet he's been waiting on that one.
  11. When he first came here he was the new owner and was shown all the time. Now he isn't shown that much, but I think he makes more games now than before. I asked on a chat after his first year how many games he made and he said 20.
  12. We really should come to a consensus: when the magic number changes, does it go at the end of the IGT for the last win, or at the start of the new IGT? I can't get enough of the Magic Number to win the NL Central. Just saying that feels good rolling off the tongue. I'd love to see it about 20 times a game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif I never like a game in which our entire team has only seen him for one PA. The Brewers always look a little lost in these situations. Here's to talking pitches and getting into the bullpen early. We know Arizona will be able to do that.
  13. Was anyone at the HR Derby at MP? That was something else. I've never felt that uncomfortable from humidity in my life after they closed the roof. It was hot with a threat of rain. I was in the 2nd deck in the RF bleachers and came close to passing out a couple of times.
  14. And I hate when you hear the cheering for nothing happening on the field and realize something good happened at the GB game.
  15. Whenever I venture over to dark side baseball dot com, I realize how great our mods are over here. Props to them for keeping this site beautiful in both looks (those pic sigs are way, way to big) and in content. Braun is a little cocky. Hopefully someone's talking to him about toning it down. But talk about the pot calling the kettle black...
  16. I have to think, "I hope all our opponents think the same thing and try to overpower him with fastballs on the outside half." Or maybe he confused Braun and Hardy. They do look similar and have close to the same last name.
  17. I guess Mench's family has voted 298 times.
  18. The worst time in the stadium is when it's hot and there is a threat of rain. They close the roof and it becomes a sauna inside. There is no way they will close half the roof just to provide some shade. But it is entirely possible. Last year they couldn't run the motor and had to close it manually. It took 30 min to close the roof instead of 15, but that was because they would close one side all the way, walk to the other panel, and close the other half. The roof still moved at the same speed they just weren't moving both at the same time.
  19. A. His numbers against RHP and then commenting that he should be an every day player. B. his inability to take a walk. Not a reason to hate someone, but that is my biggest beef with him. Outside of that, I think he's hit as advertised. A slow start and a little loss of HR power, which could both be attributed to Letter A, are his other drawbacks.
  20. As a 20 game season ticket holder, we get 300 club passes with our tickets (even though we are in Section 217) I have had full season tickets in the 102-104 area ever since the place opened. I was told I could not get a 300 club pass without paying the $500 since I "have too much of a discount on your seats." I do get 4 tickets a year to a game they select to sit in the 3rd level. I didn't like it this year. Not once did I see a waiter (which was supposed to be one of the attractions) and when I stood when the bases were loaded late in the game I was yelled at by the people in the boxes to sit back down.
  21. *Dude #9 doubled, went to third on RC AJAY's throwing error and scored on 2B Robin19's throwing error. There is no way AJAY should have an error. It was right to me, but I misjudged the catch. Besides, if I hadn't made a high throw to 3rd we would have gotten him. It should be a 2B and a two base throwing error by Robin19.
  22. If he gets his 500th home run, he should NOT be in the Hall. What has he ever done for the game that has been positive? I don't think his intelligence, or lack thereof, should be a qualification for getting into The Hall. If a player plays well enough to get into The Hall, he should be there despite how he talks to the media.
  23. I first saw it when the Brewers played in LA. It's a pretty cool feature to give away for free.
  24. My head hurt even worse when I read the comments down below. Only political conservatives don't believe in Sabermetrics? Believing in God is like believing Sabermetrics isn't any good? Yikes. I don't want to debate those statements, but those are pretty bold absolute statements to make from a Sabermetric guy.
  25. My dog sometimes attacks other dogs his size. He's a Bichon-Schnauzer. Even though he looks cute and is friendly 99% of the time, I would never leave him alone with a child that can't walk and is much bigger than him.
