  1. I think it means Villy is a SP and can pitch more innings in a year than a closer.
  2. Anyone with a sCrub jersey. There are too many to list here. Well, I guess only 25... Bonds Sheffield Tony Gwynn Jr until he is traded Chad Moeller Jack Wilson
  3. Happy Birthday Brian. Although, now you'll have to suffer through threadswith half the forum members will want to keep you since you've been with us for so long and half will want to trade you for a bag of pens. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  4. but you know its not the end of the world if we miss the playoffs No, but it really kills the heart to suffer 15 years of sucking, 25 years of no playoffs, and 50 years of no championship to jump out to a huge start in a really bad division and find yourself only up 1.5 games with two months left to give it away. God may be finding new ways to make us suffer and to punish us for laughing at the sCrubs.
  5. I'd rather throw Jenkins to the OF and let Hall pitch.
  6. The double was almost caught by Graffy running back. It was a total bloop job to right, but he legged a double out of it. Hatteburg then hit a hard ground ball up the middle.
  7. I'll add the GLOOM. My entire day now feels horrible.
  8. Reds announcer said it was "flip a coin" day since the strike zone has been so sparatic. I don't remember our guys have ripping into an ump like that.
  9. Maybe he's too much like A-Rod. A good player that can't hit in the clutch.
  10. There's the bunt we were looking for. Brauny Man time!
  11. I'm dancing in the street to hear that Gwynn is back where he belongs. Hopefully he's traded in the next 10 days. I can not stand having any more arguments with people who insist that Gwynn is a better ballplayer than OFs like Dunn.
  12. I went to Cincy once. My only road trip. Left Milwaukee at 6am, found a Big Boy's down there to eat at, bought two tickets from a scalper, watched a Phillies/Reds rain delayed game in the inaugural season, and drove back arriving in Milwaukee at 4am. Not much help to you, but one of my favorite baseball memories.
  13. How is google gonna save me, or is the thread title supposed to be in blue?
  14. Yeah, but you've gotta hate the other 1% of the time. Jamie, maybe you should just tell Mike Maddox that you're not pitching so he can stop. My boss doesn't like the smell of unburnt popcorn. Not to say he likes burnt popcorn, but he gets mad if anyone in the office "fills the room" with popcorn smell.
  15. For the record, we already had our quota one all-star in the game. Jenkins was the first person to win the vote for the last spot. He did have the numbers that year to back up the appearance.
  16. I don't know if a DH is allowed to come into a game. You can DH for any player, it doesn't have to be a pitcher. Once you sub for a DH, all 9 hitters must field. Those are the rules I know.
  17. I didn't mean to imply that he would become Chad Moeller, just that he probably won't keep up the .340 pace. I just happened to be running a bunch of numbers to counter all my "Gwynn should be a starter" friends.
  18. If Jenks could hit like Pujols, I would be upset. But we have another thread suggesting Jenkins is washed up and isn't good enough to be on the team. The same day we complain when he takes one on the knee on a 1-2 pitch, a count he usually hacks at a low inside pitch. We can have one or the other, we can't say both that he isn't good enough to be on the team and he shouldn't let himself get hit because he has such a good bat. I'm starting to think I don't know anything about baseball. Every Brewer fan I've talked to in real life has asked me about the Gwynn/Dunn trade. And every person has said it was a good thing it was just a rumor and we didn't trade such a stud prospect for a crappy hitter in Dunn. When I argue this, they tell me that the ability to hit a couple of hrs a year does not outway his lack of fielding and his lack of getting on base. When are people going to realize that On Base percentage is a greater stat of getting on base than batting average? They also complain that Dunn strikes out too much. Not only would I have made the trade, I would take most trades for TGJ just to keep Ned from starting him. A late inning defensive/baserunner does a team no good if you have him already in the lineup.
  19. For those of you visiting from Dark Side Baseball dot com, don't forget to sign up to be a supporter. It is way cheaper than down sout der, just like everything about the Brewers. You get to read the secret threads where we talk about how much we love your team. Hey, you pimped your stuff to us, I thought I would pimp it right back.
  20. I think Danny is right. So there is a 0% chance of getting swept 0-7, or is the real number <1%? I'm going to put my money on the number 3.
  21. Name a similar movie. It seems like one either hates or loves this movie, and it might be better to list some movies that are in the same vein.
  22. I like the attitude in the letter and wish more politicians would respond to losers in their area this way. Oh, his mother might sue? Maybe somebody should sue her for raising this drag on society.
  23. What's ironic is that Bonds doesn't play in day games, but they bumped Sat game to a day game. There is no chance of them moving the game. At the ticket takers, I saw a lot of people exchanging their Sat tickets for different days because they could no longer go. And that was with a month notice.
  24. It isn't familiar surroundings to hear cheers for the opposing team. The Cubs have the easiest schedule in the NL for the rest of the season. But, have no fear... the Brewers have the 2nd easiest schedule. This is because of the unbalanced schedule. Both teams play most of their games in the NL Central, with only 3 games left between each other. And the other teams all have bad records.
  25. I think if Yo had a game that escalated into the "super-brilliant" range?90 pitches over 9 innings, for instance, the braintrust would see that as fine. If YoGa had that going, it would probably be a no-no/perfect game situation. Ned would never be let back into town if he pulled the pitcher in that situation.
