  1. 12 out of 19, or I curse like a sailor. You make hay when the sun shines, and you win games when the schedule is soft.
  2. "I don't think thats a good way to tell wether he is cocky or not at all. They guy who show boats isn't the one that gets hit. The star or the next batter is the one that gets hit." Fair enough. How many times has the guy behind Hall in the lineup gotten hit?
  3. "I'm so confused right now. Do the Brewers "know how to win" or not? Fans' opinions seems to change depending on the last week of games." Wait, you mean fans are positve when the team is winning, and negative when the team loses 20 of 30? Who'd have thunk it? No need to be snarky, let's all enjoy the winning together.
  4. How many fastballs has Hall taken in the ribs over the past season and a half? That's a pretty good barometer whether or not he's too cocky, and I'd say the answer is no.
  5. vs. RHP 1. Hart 2. Hardy 3. Braun 4. Fielder 5. Jenkins 6. Estrada 7. Hall 8. Weeks 9. Pitcher Six/seven/eight here are flexible, might tinker w/ that from game to game. vs. LHP 1. Hart 2. Hardy 3. Braun 4. Fielder 5. Hall 6. Weeks 7. Estrada 8. Mench 9. Pitcher Hate seeing Mench as a starter, but what can you do? Can Graffanino play left field?
  6. I've gotten the Twins' TV feed the first two games, and last night they said something interesting. A chant of "Lets Go Brewers" had started up, and after a while, Twins fans booed loud enough to drown it out. Bremer (the play-by-play guy) commented that Brewer fans were in the house, and they were being vocal - but they weren't making as much noise as Minnesota fans make when the Twins come to Milwaukee. Really? The crowd, to me, has sounded almost 50/50 on both nights. Since when does Miller Park become "Metrodome Southeast"? FWIW, although I thought the above claim was bizarre, I like their broadcasting team. Bremer and Blyleven have a nice, easy chemistry, and they've been generous in their praise of the Brewers. Last night Bremer admitted that the Crew was an easy team to like, with all the young, homegrown talent, and that he'd probably pull for them if they were playing anyone but the Twins. Nice thing to hear from an opponent's announcer (especially a "rival" like the Twins!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif). Went on to say that the Brewers were under the radar coming into 2007, but from what he could see, there was a good chance that they'd be the clear favorites in the division for at least the next few years.
  7. Kudos to the Brew Crew for salvaging what looked like it might be a disastrous road trip after the no-hitter. Taking one of the next two makes it an unqualified success, IMO. We're due for an appearance from "Good Dave Bush" tonight, and we're due to score a few runs off the Boofster. Let's go Crew.
  8. Haven't you done enough damage this week, ELCABALLO45? Sincerely, Adam Everett Seriously, don't jinx the Crew!
  9. Every game makes me nervous, but this one feels as good as any in the series. Our hitters got a long look at Baker last month, and I don't think he's a good enough pitcher to dominate our bats again. Vargas isn't our best starter, but he's been awfully effective at keeping Milwaukee in games that he pitches, as the Crew's gaudy W/L record in his starts indicates. Win this one, and it's a satisfactory road trip, regardless of what happens on Saturday and Sunday.
  10. Sheets with his 1,000th K today. Sorry if that was mentioned on a previous page, but another reason to salute Benny.
  11. God bless Sheets. If they keep giving him decent run support, he could have 10 wins by the end of the month.
  12. Mikevan, nice Vargas-esque performance today.
  13. I'm freaking elated right now. Doesn't feel like we really controlled that series, but I'll take 2 out of 3 any which way I can get it.
  14. "Sheffield reached on an infield single, Infante to second." Can someone explain how old man Sheff legged out an infields single?
  15. Getting Infante to start the inning would be huge.
  16. I really want this win. Come on Cordero!
  17. I'm not gonna lie. Sportsline's Gamecast showed the first two pitches to Rabelo about 4 feet outside. When he drew the leadoff walk, my stomach flipped over. Big ups to Turnbow for settling in and throwing strikes, nice inning.
  18. Probably not the way Ned drew it up, but a scoreless frame, nice work Spurling. For a change, actually sets up so that Turnbow gets the easy inning and CoCo would have a tough frame in the 9th. Not that there's anything wrong w/ that. Now how about some insurance?
  19. "See this would have been the perfect case to go Turnbow-Spurling-Cordero, instead of the other way around." Co-sign.
  20. Holy St. Francis. Limit the bleeding to one, Spurling.
  21. Who's taking the hill here? I wish the answer was Capellan, but I get the sense it will be Spurling.
  22. Solid. Shouse needed to justify his roster spot there, and he did. I'm guessing it gave Ned a stomach ache to pull Sheets for Shouse, but given how awful Granderson is vs. lefties, it was the right move. Now the $64k question - with the heart of the order coming up, and no Wise or Villy, who pitches the 7th? Cappellan? Turnbow?
  23. Granderson has an OBP of .149 vs. lefties. Come on, Shouse.
  24. "Case in point: 5th inning - With Graffy up and 2 RISP, he strikes out swinging on 3 pitches, including a couple low and inside. In the bottom half, Sheffield battles Sheets for a great at bat and drives in a run. The difference was in the approach, and the Brewers are lacking it." Might also have something to do with the fact that Sheffield is about eight times the hitter that Graffanino is.
  25. Man, I love Hart at the top of the lineup. Yo Ned, it ain't broke, no need to 'fix it' with Weeks hitting leadoff when he returns next week!
