  1. to make a trade work with the Mavs, we would need to take back jerry stackhouse, erick dampier or they would have to be willing to deal Jason Terry. They do not look like a very good fit Redd to Memphis for Mike Miller and Darko Milicic is a deal that I would love. Miller gives us the outside shooting we need without having to run a ton of plays for him. With Conley, the #5 pick in the draft (They could draft Deondre Jordan, Michael Redd, Rudy Gay and Hakim Warrick, they would have a solid nucleus of young guys that could turn into a team in the short term
  2. and represents a vast upgrade over Michael Redd. Probably even more importantly though, his contract would come off the books a year earlier than Redd would as well. If they could get 2 years of 65 games out of TMac, which isnt much different from what we have seen the past few years, and then a huge expiring contract that following year which could be flipped for talent or held to free up a ton of cap space, that would be a great deal. I'd much prefer a sign and trade with Golden State for Baron Davis, but that just isnt realistic.
  3. I would think the Rockets would be much more interested in that deal if Charlie V was the player offered instead of Yi. Many around the league would say that they are probably the same age and Charlie can play the 3 or the 4, which Yi really isnt a prototype for either. Charlie's flexibility would be more attractive because they love Scola and Landry at the 4. I would not be excited with a Mo-Augustin back court however. I think TMac would demand the ball enough that we wouldn't be hurting with Mo playing the point. I would much rather keep my fingers crossed that Mayo would drop to us. Westbrook or even Gordon would be a better choice in that situation. I am really just not feeling Augustin at all. Maybe its that airballed free throw in the game they were eliminated in the tourney that has me jaded, but I dont see him being anything special
  4. Anyone have an idea how he projects? His numbers look amazing but the strikeout totals are big
  5. The Dodgers called up Kershaw to make a start on Sunday. Has anyone been able to watch any of his minor league starts to know what we are looking at? I"ve seen the "Public Enemy #1" clip online he unleashed on Casey in spring training and it looks pretty exciting. (unambigufied thread title --1992)
  6. I guess a testament to its success would be the album sales found by some of the alums the last few years. In 2007, Daughtry had the top selling album while Carrie Underwood's was 5th. In 2006, Underwood's album was #3 for the year in sales and in 2005 Kelly Clarkson came in at #3. As far as bankable success goes, I'd say that's pretty good
  7. call me when he beats cancer and throws a no hitter
  8. Camby has played a good portion of the past two seasons. He led the league in blocks and was second in defensive player of the year rankings this year. The offer the Nets have on the table sending Jefferson, Williams and the 10 pick is so far better than Jeffries and Randolph its laughable To think that anyone will take Simmons or wallace's contracts is insane. The knicks would move randolph for a guy who will come off the books sooner rather than later. Wallace's contract woudnt be freed up for some time.
  9. I'm pretty sure Mo's status as a base year compensation player makes him really tough to deal. Beyond that, I have been playing on the espn trade machine and they'd have to work a sign and trade at this point due to the large amount of players the Heat have unsigned going into next year. I also don't believe they would make a deal until Draft day because they'd love to have Rose. If Beasley is the pick, they'd most likely trade it because they think Haslem is their answer at the 4
  10. Alex Gordon is probably the best player in the game at 3b for Nebraska
  11. Keeping the pick, I like Westbrook as well. I think he is most comparable to Monta Ellis, who is my favorite player to watch in the league. Just to think that he was on the table before the draft last year when the Warriors wanted Yi. If I found out those rumors were true, I would honestly throw up
  12. If the bucks don't move up from the 7 spot, there's a very real chance they'll trade the pick to get rid of a bad contract. I'd love if they can work out a deal with the Raptors for Calderon, who might be on the market
  13. I don't know how after the way the last two weeks have gone, the response was to get Dave Bush on the mound asap and have Seth Mcclung pitch more. It's hard to have a lot of faith at this point
  14. Does anyone know why he hasnt been using his curve at all recently? That was always a great set up pitch for him and even with 4-5 mph off his fastball from where it was, it would sure speed up that fastball. Does he just not have this pitch where he can use it consistently?
  15. What adjustments do we need to make with the lineup this week with the prospects of not seeing a single lefty this week? Counsell's OPS against right handers is higher to this point (small sample noted) than every infield starter outside of Prince. Do we look for him to pick up 3-4 starts this week? I dislike The Muscle as much as anyone, but if there is a week to give him an opportunity, this is probably it. If we don't call him up now, we won't until September at best. With a career OPS of over .800 against righties, he would be a much better start than Bill Hall, who looks totally lost at the plate right now
  16. I'm a market adviser for a farm marketing group in West Bend
  17. There are so many hoops they make you jump through to actually get the trip it turns into more of a burden. There are several steps along the way where you are forced to send in little bits of money to continue the process and then after you do so, its just something else. My girlfriend did this and we were pursuing just out of principal but it just went on and on. I've actually thought of complaining to the organization for allowing them in the stadium because it is such a scam
  18. I put together a simleague team today and was just curious how guys who are more statheads than myself would set up this line up. I have a platoon at one of the outfield spots with Jack Clark hitting against lefties and luke scott hitting against righties. I'd appreciate the input. 19. There isnt another place to look for a closer. Our crap starting pitching so far has put us in a spot where getting 6 innings out of a starter seems like a gift so we cant move Torres. Riske has been ineffective and Mota has fallen on his face in previous attempts to close. He also carries a huge WHIP
  20. I did it when i was 12 back in 94 and was next to Matt Mieske in right field
  21. I spend a ton of time in Iowa and Waterloo isnt too bad. It's close enough to Cedar Rapids which has a bunch of stuff to do. Waterloo itself isnt exactly bustling but it isnt Green Acres either
  22. I sat next to Wes' wife the game where he broke out of his slump in O5 and hit a double to the opposite field to put us up late in the game. I've really never seen anyone so happy in my life. She had tears streaming down her face when he pumped his fist as he got to second base. It was really kind of touching to have that close of a connection to what was happening in their personal lives reflecting his play. Ever since then, I've really had a soft spot for him On a related note, his wife was easily one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen in my life
  23. I was on the golf course and was shocked to see they were bringing Gagne in when I checked my cell phone. I am by all means a Gagne apologist but I'm hanging this one on Yost. There was no reason to bring in our closer for a 4th straight game, especially not having a day off this week
  24. This is a great hire. Oddly enough, it is listed on Espn Insider that the Sixers have been contacted by an eastern conference team for the ability to talk to Larry Brown about a job. John Hammond has a really big positive and a really big negative when it comes to putting a project together. Plus side: He helped put together the Pistons team that won 50 games 7 straight years Down side: Jurassic Park was doomed to fail from the start
  25. They had nice graphics for Gagne when the came out but I really missed the GAME OVER that they always had at Dodgers games. They really need to get on that
