  1. Alphonso Soriano hit is 400th career homerun. I'm not sure if I'm shocked that he has 400, or shocked that he didn't have 400 already.
  2. Makes me wonder why he doesn't try that hard when no one is on base.
  3. Except, you see, there is hard evidence. There have been studies done. The pitch count idea is not something randomly pulled out of thin air. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/news/20020522woolner.shtml And further down:

  5. Bandits. Not a true comedy, but it never got big reviews, I still catch something new every time I watch it, and laugh my tail off. Billy Bob Thornton was great in it. The Whole Nine Yards was great as well.
  6. The simplest and easiest way to do this would be one simple rule: If no one is on base, the batter cannot step out of the batters box, and the pitch must be delivered within 15 seconds.
  7. Yeah, no way that guy increased in size like Bonds at all.... oh wait... http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/PHO/AAGI144~Miguel-Cabrera-2004-Studio-Plus-Photofile-Posters.jpghttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/2007/baseball/mlb/11/06/marlins.cabrera/t1_cabrera_icon.jpg
  8. You think NFL refs do this now? Do they call everything a fumble and let replay decide if it isn't? Nope, they don't. Do they call everything a catch, and then let replay decide it wasn't? Nope, they don't. Your worries are unfounded. Rules can be written. I would imagine the reversed call rules would be very similar to the current rules in place for fan interference -- another case where a play is ruled dead before it is played out. Do you have a major problem with those rules?
  9. That the local "sports media" still thinks that Marco Estrada is not a starting pitcher, despite him putting up as good as, if not better numbers than Yovani over the last 3 years.
  10. Thankfully, he made it into the walk of fame before he passed.... unlike, the much deserving George Scott. RIP, Johnny. I want to make a point to share this, as I forgot and failed to add to it for this season. I feel like we, as a huge fan community, can make this happen for 2014. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=26685
  11. Mrs Dash is your friend, for quick, easy way to add flavor to almost anything.
  12. Better head over to the other side of the island and find something awesome then.
  13. You should listen to some of the other idiots other teams trot out there. I'm glad BA talks a lot (for one, he's told do things that way by his higher ups), it also means Schroeder doesn't talk as much. Those games that Coshun/Schroeder call are so amazingly painful that I cannot even stand watching.
  14. People who live in bad neighborhoods tend to do this. I know I did when I lived in riverwest. One time getting your license plate snipped and getting a ticket for it is enough.
  15. No, that's not surprising at all. Yuni swings at everything, and hits it weakly. Rickie works the count, which is why he walks and K's more. Yuni has had 22 full counts this season, Rickie has had 75. You're saying "Rickie is just as bad a hitter as Yuni, if we discount one of the best things that Rickie does" Here, let me take your simple argument and make my own, Yuni is just as good a hitter as Braun, he has more HR's and the same number of RBI's as him.
  16. I just have to say, this is not even close to true. Weeks has a 91 wRC+ this season. Yuni has a 60. The difference between Weeks and Yuni with the bat this season is about the same as the difference between Weeks and Segura.
  17. Did just your wife go in. She should have gone in twice. The person handing out the vouchers are probably instructed to only give one to each person as they can only assume that each person has one ticket. Otherwise you could have friends/family go in front of you, get vouchers, then slip you their tickets so you can tell the person handing out vouchers "See, I have two tickets!" This also avoids the necessity for the people handing out the vouchers to have to check the dates on the tickets (as you could also just bring a bunch of old tickets with you to show the people handing out vouchers). I've always had to leave and come back in to get multiple of any ticket giveaway. Whether it's bobbleheads or vouchers, or whatever else it may be.
  18. This was the earliest I've left a game in the 300+ Brewers games I've been to in my life. I was so pissed off by the sac bunt in the first, that I almost left then. After Yuni got thrown out at 2B, I walked out of the stadium.
  19. This was not a Lucroy problem, this was a whiney wolf problem. Now Peralta is the same way.
  20. Because in the middle of those 8 starts he came up to MLB and put up a solid 10.93 ERA, and couldn't strike anyone out? (2.5 K/9 isn't going to cut it). His last 4 starts, he's only gone 6 innings per start, and he's only striking out 6 guys per 9 innings, while walking almost the same amount, and he's had a horrible 1.06 K/BB ratio.
  21. Nope. Nope, nope and nope. Why would you take the best (or 2nd best) pitch framer in the league and move him to 3B? To give a guy with a career .646 minor league OPS more PAs?
  22. Corey Hart used Cage the Elephant for his walkup song a few years back....
  23. You forgot Philly. Philly is going to be terrible. As is Phoenix, Utah and Sacramento out west. Plus Boston could definitely be in the picture if they trade or hold out Rondo. So could the Lakers if they trade Gasol and Kobe shoots 57 times a game.
  24. You're failing to count just how bad 5 or 6 teams are in the league this year. They will get almost 20 wins off those teams alone. Teams who don't have guys anywhere near the talent level of Sanders and Ersan. The Bucks apparently really liked Middleton, as a young 3 and D kind of possibility.
  25. You wanna play The Repeater? Did that once, while we were taking tickets for a group campsite for a tournament. One guy would walk up to the car and ask "How many tents for you guys tonight?" And I'd walk up and do the same thing right next to him. It was pretty awesome... considering he'd never seen Super Troopers. Also, "That'll happen" followed by someone echoing "That will happen." is quite often said amongst my friends.
