  2. Our local sports teams in Milwaukee haven't played in weeks. Madison hasn't opened up it's parks for games yet this season. I am excited to finally get to play some Ultimate this week.
  3. And Carlos Gomez, his first 37 PA's got on base 6 times and didn't walk once. Why wasn't anyone calling for Logan Schafer?
  4. I will say that each commercial break is broken down into "local" and "state wide"/"National" portions. So, when I see a local Milwaukee ad on a brewers telecast, the people in Eau Claire are probably seeing a local Eau Claire ad.
  5. He is lazy and has terrible form when fielding a ball. His "Never field it in front of me, only on my glove side" manner, means he will struggle on anything to his backhand side. At 3B those are doubles.

  7. I wish I had access to the Sportsvision camera data to compare the two.
  8. Not much. They are only on one of the top 20 most used lineups this season (And only 35 minutes for that lineup). http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIL/2013/lineups/ Henson has hardly played, his 783 minutes are 9th most on the team (Redick is about to pass him), and barely ahead of Sammy Dalembert.
  9. There were $11 seats for the upper deck. Lower bowl seats are expensive for almost any marquee game.
  10. No doubt Luc should be moved to 4, but I think Weeks is actually a really nice number 2 hitter if he could just perform to his career numbers. The problem is, he might not be that kind of hitter anymore. He's been about a 700 ops guy since his injury, and it's not like we're just talking about 200 plate appearances anymore. When Weeks was good his natural spot was #2. This new Weeks is a bottom of the order guy. It's just my opinion, but I don't think the old Weeks is going to come back. He just looks like he's quit mentally. He looks scared everytime he's at the plate. Weeks drops his head down everytime he strikesout. As of now I think he should be dropped to the bottom of the order. Lucroy is deserving of the 4 spot until Aramis returns. 1. Aoki 2. Segura 3. Braun 4. Ramirez 5. Hart 6. Lucroy 7. Gomez 8. Weeks 9. Pitcher That is a very good lineup 1 through 6. Gomez every now and then hits a HR or gets a hit. Weeks at 8 is fine. There would be no pressure on him to deliver. If by some miracle he hopefully finds himself again and gets out of his funk, you bump him ahead of Gomez. I just can't wait until everyone is healthy. It's frustrating watching a team with a great offense play like junk because they're missing key players. Injuries really are a pain in the butt. Maybe we just bench him on the road. I mean, he has a sub .300 OPS on the road this year. It's .929 at home, though. C'mon man, it's been 46 PA's. Heck, in reality, it's been a bad 20 PA's. Yes, they were really bad, but still, only 20 PA. Go look at his last 120 games, including this season. His OPS is right at .800. Your overreactions and hatred for Weeks is beginning to become comical.
  11. No, it's a quality game. The worst thing you can do is sign mediocre veterans to "League average" deals. The value in the NBA is in superstars and young talent. You then use cap space to fill holes once you have one of those two things. Right now, the Bucks basically have neither of those things.
  12. Gonzalez came in and gave up 3 runs without getting an out. You lose 95% of those games when you're down 3 in the 6th. You're down 7-4. 9 outs to go. Go to your long man. Period. It doesn't matter who pitches, you limit the guys you use and keep your staff fresh. Again, if that was Narvy's job, you use him in those situations. If you're going to find out what you have, then you shouldn't end up without anyone to pitch 4 days later. I must've misread when Narvy got hurt. I thought he was injured a couple days later. My fault.
  13. Their bullpen was burnt out after 6 games when they had a day off in between. I guess I can't fathom any place where he hadn't mismanaged the pen to some extent. Game #2: 6th inning over. Down 7-4. instead of going to his long man, he ends up using 3 relievers, including his long man. Game #4. Starter pulled after 5. Down 6-1. Instead of going to his long man, he ends up using his long man for 1 inning only, then uses 2 more pitchers to finish the game.
  14. I don't know how useful it is to treat the value of raw numbers in different season's as the same. Runs throughout the league were down last season. 683 runs per team compared to 701 in 2010 and 718 in 2009. That is why I compared each team to how it did vs other teams in the same season. I think that gives us more of an apples to apples comparison when looking at relative effectiveness. I think RRR's staff of 2011 somehow gets counted for the success of 2012. That simply isn't the case. The 2012 staff was terrible overall. As bad relative to other teams as Macha's staff. So why does Macha get a pass and RRR doesn't? How about this ERA+: 2009 ERA+: 85 2010: 88 2012: 98 So, they weren't nearly as bad as Macha's staffs. Not even close. My entire point is, Macha get's a horrible rap. Sure, RRR is fine, I don't really think managers are worth anything unless you get a really good one. I just hate the idea that he is some genius. For example: his Loogy, through 7 whole games, already has 2x as many PA's vs RHB as LHB.
  15. Last year, they gave up 4.52 runs per game. 2010 they gave up 4.96 runs per game. 2009 they gave up 5.05 runs per game. Last year they scored 4.79 runs per game. (+.28 runs/game difference) 2010 they scored 4.63 runs per game. (-.33 runs/game difference) 2009 they scored 4.85 runs per game. (-.20 runs/game difference)
  16. What? Underperformed? Please to explain how they underperformed. They finished 3rd and 4th in the NL in runs scored in 2009/2010. The fault was clearly not his for assembling the horrid pitching staff. Funny, how when they went from Jeff Suppan and Dave Bush to Zack Greinke and Shaun Marcum, that somehow made RRR into a genius.
  17. Jake, thanks a lot for bringing this back to us!
  18. Because you're a lot more likely to be accurate if you keep the ball low. It's a much larger margin of error. You can throw it 5 to 30 feet short and it still one hops the catcher. Where as you have about a 6 foot window to not airmail him on the fly.
  19. The tickets are already sold. You'll just be able to walk up and get a lower bowl seat for $5 on the street day of game. Just like every year when they are losing games.
  20. I'm a Rickie Weeks fan. I wish he wasn't playing so bad, but he is. When was the last time he had a clutch at bat? Since last year I have watched him get punked by the fastball. He is either too late or he just doesn't swing at it. My post may have been at over the top, but no one can deny that he is not as good as he used to be. I would love to see Rickie of 2010 come back. That Rickie Weeks was a downright nasty hitter. If this new Weeks stays then I don't know what we're going to do with the 2B position. Here's his numbers the last 104 games last season: .264 .346 .454 .800 Clearly, he has completely lost any ability he's ever had.
  21. I'd say it's the opposite. We (brewerfan.netters) are by far and away the minority here. The on field instructionals are designed to draw in the casual fan and explain things they may not know.
  22. Spring training dates do not count towards 60 day DL time. Only the regular season. So he is retroactive to opening day.
