  1. Sorry to hear this, Adam. The best advice I can give is try your best to not let it consume you. Make yourself do things to take your mind off of it. Don't sit at home by yourself and be sad constantly. Even if it is going to the gym, or a coffee shop to read a book, or watching the game with some friends... every little bit will help your mind from becoming completely stuck in the downward spiral that grief can become.
  2. I love the signing. I also pre-hate the way that our manager will use him.
  3. 1) The Brewers performance factor determined by the new CBA means they will probably get the same amount or less money overall from revenue sharing in 2013 than 2012. 2) The Brewers new local deal nearly tripled, which allowed them to go from an 80m payroll team to 90m max. It was the worst deal in MLB. Now it's something like 4th worst. 3) The new MLB deal doesn't kick in until 2014, which is why Ramirez's contract was back loaded so much. 4) They've never drawn 3.1 million fans, let alone 3.2 million.
  4. That's the (alternate?) logo for the Braves from 72-86. It's way better than Chief Wahoo.
  5. This is definitely something you can do. It's as simple as plugging the dvr into the input for the dvd recorder and hitting play on the DVR. Sadly, you cannot do this "quickly" recording an hour long show will take an hour. You can write to blu-rays, but you'd need a blu-ray writer to do so. As for transferring the files to PC, it can be done, but requires a little bit of DVR hacking, and PC installation. Definitely not something for the faint of heart.
  6. Dickey throws 2 knuckle balls. One 80MPHish and one a more typical 65 MPHish. He really is unique in that sense.
  7. It always amazed me how many students at Madison would wait for 15 minutes for a bus and take it 5 blocks.
  8. When you can trade 17 nickles for a dollar, you do that every time in the NBA. Curry was the dollar. He would've immediately become the best player the Bucks have had since Allen was stupidly traded away. Ellis isn't anywhere close to that. He scores because he shoots a lot, he turns the ball over too much, and he is downright awful on defense. If Bogut's trade value was diminished, fine. We managed to dump Stephen Jackson's salary and got an expiring contract and still managed to get Ellis (and Udoh) back. Again, they could've gotten Curry.
  9. http://blog.sfgate.com/warriors/2012/03/16/gs-warriors-owner-joe-lacob-talks-steph-curry/ And yes, it was a horrible trade. Ellis is not a good player, and they could have just amnestied Jackson and told him to go home. Using your single best trade asset and not getting younger or getting any draft picks is just an amazingly stupid thing to do.
  10. 18 games against the Reds. 18 times we get to hear Uke try to say his name.
  11. Yep, his 48 TS% on the year is just phenomenal. Comparing that to the guy they turned down in the trade (Curry), who's shooting a well above average 56 TS%.
  12. Can't believe Bucky has clawed back into this. I had surgery and I'm not allowed to talk for another couple days... and I'm going to a party later with all Marquette people. I am going to be the worlds most insufferable mute if Bucky wins.
  13. The "Honey Badger" Badger-5 lottery ticket radio commercial.
  14. How the Badgers are only down 11, I have no idea. It feels like they should be down about 30. Wisconsin: Where your PF is your best ball handler and brings the ball up the court.
  15. Not to mention that every GM knew the new MLB-wide television deals would be kicking in in 2014 and the money incoming from those would nearly triple for every franchise, upping it to 50 million per team.
  16. I don't sit down and watch it anymore. There is too much slow pacing, nothing to draw me in. I will turn it on while I am cooking or cleaning or whatever and just go from there. I never feel like if I miss something it will be a big deal at all. Homeland and Dexter both require my full attention.
  17. Martin's better than what the Pirates have had, but he's no Yadier Molina. Teams have averaged 71 stolen bases on him per year about double what teams do against Molina. It's a decent signing for them and addresses a need, and you pay a little more when you have a need. I enjoy the signing, and Briggs, the jump from what the Pirates had (Noodle arm nobody) to Martin is probably less than the jump from Martin to Molina. Braun had 7 of his 31 SB's against Pittsburgh last year. 23% of his SB's in 10% of his games.
  18. Funny, the Bucks wanted him to go WITHOUT surgery. My gosh. I would want nothing to do with their medical staff if I were injured.
  19. Ennder, a man of my own heart.
  20. If they sign Josh Hamilton for upwards of 20 mil a season, it would be the dumbest signing in Brewers history. Surpassing some of the all-time greats, such as YuniB, and Jeffery Hammonds.
  21. 1) Ellis is a terribly bad basketball player. Personally, I can't stand watching him. He could be something close to Rajon Rondo, but chooses to be Brickasaurus Rex. 2) The Bucks offense is NOT good. They score a lot because they play fast. They are middle of the pack efficiency wise.
  22. They are definitely playing 8 guys (although Kaminski hasn't gotten a lot of run yet). I keep waiting for them to go big and play Frankie and Bergerren at the same time, but I don't think Bo will do that. Brust needs to start hitting shots, and the team needs to stop taking so many 16 foot jumpers.
  23. I like that Bo is using Dekker as a change of pace off the bench. If he didn't, their second unit would have NO scoring what so ever. They lost the Creighton game because they completely stopped attacking the basket for the last 9 minutes of the game (right when they got into the double bonus) and settled for jumpers.
  24. Dally got the ball at the freethrow line, after a pick-n-roll, wide open. He had to take one dribble and dunk the ball. Why he decided "PULL UP JUMPER" I will never know.
  25. I saw you go after that game-worn Sharpie jersey....
