  1. I'd imagine they would DL Rodgers, Fires and Estrada if they are truly unavailable (there's no real difference, right?). So they could replace them, then.
  2. I can't wait, and I'm sorry I missed all the games you were in town for (I happened to be in Colorado the entire time). Glad to hear you had an epic time, and I hope you do a full writeup and forward it on to McCalvy and Haudricourt.
  3. Man. I go out one time and I miss everything good.
  4. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PgFHMbCT-ZQ/TJKXbTviAMI/AAAAAAAABds/kk_KNOqVhnk/s1600/seinfeld_puffy_shirt.jpg Let's go boys. Keep on beating those puffy shirted so and so's.
  5. So, why are 85% of players called up to MLB from AAA then? Why are 85% of players called up in Sept when rosters expanded from AAA? More potential does not equal more talent.
  6. Full video is here: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=24378705&c_id=mlb Costas is great.
  7. They told them: Stop worrying about striking out. Stop worrying about hitting the ball the other way. Just swing hard and pull the ball.
  8. As with every season, all the Brewers were missing was a few games against the Pirates.
  9. That was a 125 OPS+ in Milwaukee. He wasn't playing in the same hitting environment as today. It was much, much lower. Anyway, I couldn't watch, nor DVR the ceremony. Hopefully more than a 2 minute clip gets put up on the web.
  10. I'd love to know what was going through the head of the guy who named them when he decided on scuppernong. Just sounds like something out of Dr Seuss.
  11. I think if he gets to 500 PA, leads the league in BA, OBP, Doubles (only 7 behind Ramirez), SLG and OPS... and the Reds pull away in the division race when he comes back that he'll have a shot. He's been out about 6 weeks with the knee injury, which will hurt him a great deal
  12. http://i.usatoday.net/communitymanager/_photos/daily-pitch/2012/08/14/votto2x-large.jpg That guy might have something to say about it too. Rumors are he'll be activated over the weekend.
  13. Oh, I know they are a real thing. I just still feel as though that should be a completely made up word.
  14. If you buzz or shave your hair, try aloe on your scalp before you sleep.
  15. Dehydration/cramping according to Uke. Did we learn nothing from Tobias Harris???
  16. Since this thread is about being obnoxious and over the top, let's dream big: what happens if Braun wins the Triple Crown? Geez I'd love him to put the writers in a bind like that after they way they shabbily reported info over the winter. The sad part is, he isn't a McCutchen slump from getting into the BA race... he'd have to end the season at .345, as that's where Cabrera will be staying.
  17. Joe Block: "They can't throw it back, it was hit so far." I'm really coming around on Joe. He's loosening up a bit, and actually adding more emotion to his calls.
  18. If it were me, I would definitely wear my Doug Davis shirsey to the interview.
  19. Last month, Briggs was telling us the true ace was Fiers. I wonder who it'll be at the end of the season! Capuano.
  20. As far as I know, retrosheet only goes back to 1900, so I'm pretty sure that's why there is that cutoff.
  21. Can R.A. Dickey win the Cy Young?
  22. I was looking at this... They have 35 games left, and need 301 K's to set the record. That's exactly 8.6 K/9 the rest of the season (Assuming all 9IP games), as a team they've averaged 8.7 for the season. It's gonna be close -- what will hurt them the most is their horrible road record and that cutting down the number of IP the Brewers get the rest of the season.
  23. The Seattle Bucks? Yeah, they would be.
  24. 1) Wrong forum. 2) No, a 400 million dollar commodity is not worth 10 years of 1 pitcher, no matter how good he might be.
