  1. Odds are they will still have the gear in reserve somewhere (saving it for the Clubhouse sale, or somesuch). If you ask an employee, I'm sure they could help you out (or, a Brewerfan.netter could).
  2. I guess we'll just have to hope Lucroy isn't kept in the 8th spot to focus on his defense, or whatever the reasoning was last year. The problem last year was, Lucroy was better than at least 2 hitters, sometimes 3 (when Gomez played) in the lineup. This year that might be a bit different, but I agree, Gonzalez should hit 8th. vs LHP: Weeks Hart Braun Ramirez Gamel Lucroy Gonzalez Gomez vs RHP Morgan Hart Braun Ramirez Weeks Gamel Lucroy Gonzalez Seriously.... opening day can't get here soon enough. 6 days until Uke is on the radio.
  3. Thinking that 30 or so spring training at bats meant Carlos Gomez had changed his approach and was a good hitter (by the way, he didn't walk once) and should hit second in the lineup had me sold on RRR not having a clue about an offense or run production... not to mention his foolish idea to start Mark Kotsay in CF. Ever. This idea that the players love RRR is just foolish. They love winning. Funny how that coincided with actually having a pitching staff last year. Makes me feel bad for Macha.
  4. After watching Homer try to interact on Twitter with Will Carroll I've given up on it. https://twitter.com/#!/espnhomer/status/174000901760094209 If the local guys won't take the time to read the facts of the case and just jump to conclusions and don't try to educate themselves (or the public), why should any of the national slobs?
  5. That was one heck of a fun game to watch... Bergerren with a MONSTER three... and Brust seeing less and less playing time.
  6. First base always smelled a little funny when Prince got done running.
  7. Bucky playing like Bucky can. Tied at half at OSU. Can't really ask for more from the Badgers today.
  8. I bought Will Carroll's article, it explains things very, very well. I could put it into .jpg format and post it here, but don't want to violate any posting guidelines.
  9. Braun's press conference being shown live at mlb.com http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=6261176
  10. Not to mention the turnover on Bergerren (I think - might've been Bruiser) when he got shoved onto the baseline and they called him OB.
  11. I was just going off the depth charts at each team's page on MLB.com. I have no idea who projects to start for each team beyond that.
  12. Green, Aoki, Kottaras, Gomez? Izturis is the only one who really isn't anything, and he'll be the backup SS and that is it. Looking within the division (just using MLB's depth charts): Cubs: D. DeJesus, Reed Johnson, Jeff Baker, Adrian Cardenas, Steve Clevenger Reds: Ryan Ludwick, Chris Heisey, Todd Frazier, Wilson Valdez, Devin Mesoraco Houston: Jason Bougouis, Jack Cust, Brett Wallace, Marwin Gonzalez, Humberto Quintero Pirates: Nate McLouth, Casey McGehee, Alex Presley, M McKenry, Chase d'Arnaud St Louis: Allan Craig, Tyler Greene, Daniel Descalso, Tony Cruz, ??? I would take our bench over any one of those.
  13. I don't know. Are you forgetting they went into the season with 2 of their 8 defensive starters on the DL? That their most promising young bullpen arm missed almost the entire season? That their best starter missed 6 weeks? That the MVP missed 15 games in the middle of the year? That both of their primary CF's were on the DL for an extended period of time? That our All-Star 2B missed 6 weeks with an ankle injury? That the #2 and #3 bullpen options both spent extended time on the DL in the first half -- and it was so bad that Daniel Herrera was actually considered a viable option in the bullpen? That our Loogy had a hip injury that kept him from pitching almost the entire season? They had a LOT of injuries. The fact that they won 96 games is, well, amazing. Yes, the starting pitching staff was amazingly healthy, but other than that... everyone got hurt.
  14. http://thebiglead.fantasysportsven.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/A-giddy-Pedro-Martinez-will-be-first-in-line-for-a-Zim-Bear.jpg Yes. The Rays are giving that away this season. Not creepy. Not creepy at all.
  15. I know they used to have a peanut-free rule for the row in front of the Tundra Territory seats. I'm not sure if that has changed or not.
  16. Playing your normal lineup or playing a better overall player than one of your normal starters isn't a disadvantage.
  17. Nyjer gave up 15 outs last year. That's a lot of outs for a guy who gets on base at a .370 clip to be giving up.
  18. Horrible end to the game... but at least it wasn't Martell Webster...
  19. Milwaukee is a wonderful city, especially in the summertime. The Art Museum could take up a full day of your time, as could any of the festivals which run every weekend down at the Summerfest grounds on the lake. Also, Discovery World can be a real hoot. If you're planning to rent a car, there are also some very nice hiking options about 45 minutes to an hour away in Kettle Moraine State Park. The Milwaukee County Zoo is pretty amazing, as well. There are the Mitchell Domes, which have different events throughout the year. If you're into biking, there are shops where you can rent bicycles for the day, and take a trip around on the Oak Leaf Trail and see a bit of Milwaukee that way. Also, if you're looking for interesting places to have a drink, there are tons of good bars in Milwaukee, for a tourist, I'd reccommend Bryant's cocktail lounge or At Random (two bars I love to take friends to). As for seat locations, if you're going to 7 games, be aware that if you're going to a day game, you'll probably want first base side seats (otherwise you'll bake in the sun). Sit in the bleachers, sit as close to behind homeplate as you can in the terrace box (really awesome view of the action from up there), sit in the club level once, and be sure to walk around and check out all the pictures and artwork.
  20. At least, in the auctions I've done, people all put in the same amount of money, then get a certain "amount" to spend - so everyone pays $20, which is pro-rated to $200 auction dollars. No limit on the # of teams someone can buy (aside from there being a minimum cost).
  21. More and more I am worried the Badgers won't find that 4th scorer they need to win games. Right now, only 3 guys are really scoring (Taylor, Bergerren, Evans). I thought this would be Bruiser's year, but he hasn't been nearly as aggressive as last year. Gasser hasn't either. Brust can't seem to hit a lake with his 3-pointers lately (26% in big10 play, including 3 for his last 14). Marquette looks really good, but I still worry if they can win a close game down the stretch against a similarly talented team.
  22. He was an amazing CF, one of the most underrated players ever -- because his value was in defense, power, and walks. Watching him from up in the Terrace Box was something awesome. It almost seemed like he knew where the ball would go before it was hit.
  23. I don't know. I think Hammonds is as good as gone, I wish they'd fire him now and find a replacement *before* he can do more damage trying to save his job... then again, nothing around Milwaukee will change as long as the Senator wants to fight for the 8th seed every year.
  24. What a beautiful collapse it was. Jennings goes 4-20 from the floor and three horrible 4th quarter turnovers. He is back to being a terrible shooter and not doing anything right when he has the ball in his hands over the last two weeks.
  25. All I can say to the whole Lin thing: Are coaches that dumb? He was on three teams, and I assume had 20+ practices on all three of those teams, you're telling me none of those three coaches or any of the 143 assistants noticed that this guy was *great* at running the pick-and-roll and could beat guys off the dribble? Seriously, this makes me question anything any coach does in the NBA.
