  1. Yeah, that's just weird. Your system seems to be using 9 gigs of RAM, not 8. (2.85 GB + 6.47GB)
  2. If you're looking at task manager, there are 5 numbers: Memory (I believe this is listed in green, just above the bottom tables) - The amount of memory your system is currently using --- I am pretty sure this is the number you are not adding into the equation. Total -- Total RAM on your system Available -- How much RAM is available on your system (Total - Memory) Cache -- Memory your system is using to help speed up your applications but can be freed at any time. Free -- The amount of Memory your system is currently not using. So: Total= Memory + Cache + Free and Available = Cache + Free *multiple edits because I kept screwing up*
  3. He's probably the highest since Sam Okey and or Rashard Griffith.
  4. But you're forgetting what the M's will bring in due to King Felix's acting....
  5. "That's sweet, but I can't because I'm married." "Oh, Ann, you're not married. She's not married."
  6. If your UZR is 15, 10 and 5 over a 3 year period, that is going to add up to 30 runs, or 10/year. If your offensive Runs are 30, 25, and 20, that is going to add up to 75 runs, or 25/year. I don't see how you are going to get anything but 35 runs per year when you add those up in any way you choose. If you think that 3 years of UZR is worthless and inaccurate, then thats a completely different story. If you think that defense is improperly weighted, that's a different story as well.
  7. WAR is calculated from runs. UZR is calculated in runs. I'm not sure where you think there is some magical calculation process transforming UZR into something it isn't. They aren't squaring the numbers by themselves. They are multiplying them by a constant. x(3+1+17) = 3x + x + 17x Where are you getting this "multiply by 3 for accuracy" thing? From Fangraphs:
  8. http://eh.net/encyclopedia/article/haupert.mlbhttp://eh.net/files/graphics/encyclopedia/haupert.mlb.image001.gif Oh, and bringing the doom and gloom is completely ignoring context with regards to growth and viewership. http://aol.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2011-10-21/world-series-tv-ratings-fox-abc-modern-family-st-louis-cardinals-texas-rangers If you're comparing anything to the NFL and its 16 game & single game playoff format, you're going to lose. Handily.
  9. Less than 2M, he's only making 6M for 2012.
  10. The Badgers are #1 in the country in defensive efficiency -- that is NOT ppg, that is points per possession, so it has nothing to do with how long their offense takes to shoot. They play defense. Problem with 2 of the last 3 games is they haven't, and their average offense has been well below average. They have 14 games left, and are currently sitting at 12-5. If they go 8-6 they are all but guaranteed an NCAA bid, they are playing in probably the toughest conference in the country. It might be a down year for Bo Ryan, but only 2 of their top 9 are Seniors. They are a young team, and they were probably ranked much too high at the start of the season. If they keep shooting 10% from 3 point land they won't make the tournament, but I just can't imagine that happening.
  11. Looks like the Milwaukee area expectations have dropped from over a foot to about 6".... won't be nearly as bad as expected.
  12. I really think Bagwell playing in Houston killed him for his HoF chances. I mean, he was the 2nd or 3rd best player in baseball over a 10 year period.Yeah, he played 1B, but that just shows what a ridiculous hitter he was.
  13. So how do you feel about Sandy Koufax?
  14. If you're using the uplink port you shouldn't need a crossover cable. As for which port to use on the belkin, I cannot say. Make sure your belkin router has more than 3-4 IP addresses available in its setup -- should be in LAN setup, starting & ending pool of IP addresses. My main suggestion is to try other ports on the router, and if that doesn't work, try rebooting the router. Try a different cable from the router to the switch (Trust me, nothing makes you feel dumber than realizing it was the cable after 2 hours of putzing around).
  15. One nominee per week, with a solid summation of each player/manager/personalities credentials for the Walk of Fame, which could be saved/put into a portfolio for future reference.... I really need more to do in my free time. ha!
  16. No, this is not what they are doing with WAR if you look at 3 years of data. You're not taking the same bad measurement and multiplying it by three. You're taking 3 individual measurements, and coming up with a sum total of them over 3 years. To use your recipe comparison: If you need a gallon of milk and 3 pounds of chocolate to make cookies, it really doesn't matter what ratios you mix them in initially as long as they are all combined in the end.
  17. Alright, for next year, we'll assemble a brewerfan.net portfolio of the players on the ballot, explaining why they should be in and attempt to get it into the hands of the voters. Who's with me?
  18. Larkin makes the case for Trammell: http://www.fangraphs.com/graphsw.aspx?players=335,1013157,1010978,1014396OPS is a poor way to compare as the first 8 years of Trammell's career were a much lower run environment than Larkin's last 8 (when they didn't overlap). Trammell was probably the 2nd best SS in MLB over his career (behind Ripken). I threw in Yount and Ripken to show how close Yount was to both Larkin and Trammell, and how Ripken was pretty much a full step above all 3 of them.
  19. Describing someone as black isn't racist. Calling a black person an animal, a savage, or implying they are a monkey by throwing bananas at them is either racist or completely ignorant. Either way, I cannot imagine Nyjer Morgan putting up with that sort of thing and he's definitely not someone I would want to associate with on a day to day basis for 9 months a year.
  20. He should do that with the majority of his articles as well.
  21. Here is an excerpt from one article: He's either racist or the type of guy who has no clue about history, our country, or the extreme bigotry that people went through and still go through today.
  22. Yeah, it really worries me for guys like Raines and Edgar Martinez. They might just get lost in the shuffle with the next 3 HOF Classes. Lofton also goes on next year. With Maddux, Glavine, Frank Thomas, Jeff Kent and Mussina going on in 2013 and Randy Johnson, Smoltz, Pedro Martinez and Gary Sheffield in 2014.
  23. My vague understanding of Powerline adapters, it could very well be that 3 outlets in your room are wired to one fuse, and the other is wired to another, with a lower power load. Could be the 4th outlet simply has newer wiring. Could be any number of silly random things.
