  1. Robin Roberts passes. As always, the Poz sum's it up better than I ever could.
  2. I've come to realize in this show, they aren't dead unless you see the body. So, in my mind, both Jin and Lapidus could still be alive.
  3. Clearly you didn't see the group of 300lb dudes with their shirts off on opening day....
  4. I'm not quite sure how 6'9 215 (at the age of 20) is that much smaller and shorter than 6'10" 230. As I said, I'd see his ceiling as Rashard Lewis. Picking 15, and getting a guy as a rookie who can fill minutes at the 3 or the 4, rebound, and play solid defense is more than the Bucks can ask for. I just don't think he'll come out and be able to rebound or play defense just yet. Do I think they pick him? Not really. Having him, Ilyasova and Delfino would be pretty redundant.
  5. It is odd. All the media does it, no one ever seems to call them on it. Honestly, after watching him, if I could pick one guy Hayward reminded me of, who's ceiling he could hit, it's Rashard Lewis.
  6. 1/26/09: Avoided arbitration by signing 4 year, $38M contract. So, he's signed through 2012 at 9.5M a year give or take, I really don't see him tacking on another 3 years, when he'd make up the 10M difference he'd get over the next two years with whatever deal he signs in 2013 at 25M a year. The starting point of the deal would be what Lee got the Indians: Now, if you throw out the contract extension... who knows.
  7. Pretty sure that they just can't be traded before June 15th of that season. http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060410&content_id=1393174&vkey=news_tex&fext=.jsp&c_id=tex
  8. When they traded for Lopez they were 47-45 and 3 games out of first place. With Dave Bush coming back off the DL and Parra supposedly coming back up to MLB having figured things out in AAA. I still had hopes for the season then.
  9. In his sig is the link.
  10. He never had injury issues, as far as I know. They did to him the same thing the Yankees did with Joba Chamberlin. Toss him in the bullpen, because he's better than anyone else you have, but it limits his innings while you build up his arm strength. You want your pitchers to go up ~30 innings a year, so, if he throws 80, next year he'd max out at about 120... which is half a seasons worth of starts. It would be pretty tough for him to convert back to a starting pitcher.
  11. And he also holds the memory, for me, of spawning what might've been the greatest Uke call ever... when he flipped around and hit lefty and got two hits and 4RBI's.
  12. So which one of the pitchers gets to speak up and tell DM to get some more hitting help because the offense sucks? Or, can only Braun do that and be loved?
  13. Right after they went to Boston, and choked away 2 of three games in the series... and Tony Gwynn, Jr DH'd one of the games.
  14. McGeehee is set to be a FA in 2015 I believe... so there's no reason to give him a 3 or 4 year contract.
  15. Make that 67 runs in 19 non-pirates games. I'm not blaming the pitching anymore. Wake up, Offense.
  16. Did she recently install a new video card? The error that you posted quite often is an issue with nvidia graphics cards & conflicting drivers that, for some reason comes up as a PTE error in Vista. Honestly, a full reinstall may solve the problem, but if you can't even load the vista CD....
  17. They had guys making baskets, plain and simple. When their top two scorers in the playoffs combine to shoot 6-28 (on Friday) and 10-26 so far today... they aren't gonna win against a superior team unless the other guys come through and hit shots. With Delfino (1-7), Stackhouse (0-3), Ridnour (0-3) and Ilyasova (3-10) starting their own brick laying company they aren't gonna have a chance. It's amazing the game is as close as it is.
  18. 23-27 on May 25th, 2008. Ended up winning 90. I'm holding out hope, but if the offense doesn't wake up soon, it's gonna be a really, really long year. In Non Pirates games (17 games, 65 runs) averaging a paltry 3.8 runs per game, which would put them bottom 5 in the league.
  19. A year and a half of Cordero for 3 months of Carlos Lee was a great deal. We had to give up MORE to get Coco from the Rangers, hence Nelson Cruz. The other crap we got back was to help fill the lineup, I can't blame Melvin for the idiocy that was Ned Yost trotting Mench out to the field against RHP's constantly. There's no way the team barely (yes, 1 blown save counts as barely) misses the playoffs in 2007 without Cordero. Obviously he wasn't even that highly thought of by the Rangers (or anyone else) as he was put on waivers in spring '08. In 2006 he was blocked by Hart, Gross, and Jenkins. I'll never say that was a bad deal. Nor was the Hall deal at the time it was made. I will agree though, the next 18 months (~30M off the payroll and what to do about Prince) will shape the franchise for many years to come, so if they are going to make a GM move, now is the time to do it.
  20. Maybe they should've sold last year, by the trading deadline the team was in a free fall due to a complete lack of pitching. The biggest problem is that payroll for the 'Crew is so tied to ticket sales. That fact may very well limit their ability to sell off pieces, even in a down year. Obviously I can't say this for sure... but if this season keeps up the way it is, I'd have to say Hoffman, Prince, Bush and Hart will all be on the block.
  21. 19-9. Yep. It's all gonna come together, Charlie. Tiebreaker: 27.
  22. I have a friend who married Jenny number 5. Yes. Over the course of 10 years or so, he dated 5 Jenny's.
  23. What a joke. This all seems made up, especially without any information on how the data was gathered or what might've been asked. I mean, "How do you feel about your team's start so far?" "I friggin hate it, and I'm an Indians fan." There we go. Most hated = Indians.
  24. http://hoopshype.com/salaries/milwaukee.htm
  25. The infield is crazy. Just do a google search on it (when you're not at work... trust me). It's like a giant tailgate full of people who don't know how to hold their liquor.
