  1. The Braves probably blew the series tonight…can’t let a chance to go up 3-0 slip away like that.
  2. I wonder if the Braves are regretting using Morton on short rest in the NLDS...
  3. Gut says the Dodgers take care of business today but brain says to not underestimate what the Giants have accomplished to get to this point.
  4. What about in Game 1 of the NLDS when he closed out a one run game to secure the victory? Or the three games in a row he finished up against the Mets to wrap up the division title at home? All four of those game were pretty recent & meaningful. He barely saved the first game and shutting down a Mets team that lost 11 of 12 doesn't mean too much to me. Hader's postseason numbers speak for themselves... 14.1 IP 4 ER 1.88 ERA 3 BB 23 K 0.84 WHIP Or the most important stage he pitched on, the 2018 NLCS: 7.2 IP, 0 ER, 1 BB, 12 K Yeah, you can knock him for the couple times he gave up key runs, but using those instances to predict future performance would be a fool's errand.
  5. This season more than any other has taught me to accept that the Brewers will probably never win a World Series in my lifetime, or at least not with MLB's current financial incentives in place. Being at peace with that makes it easier to enjoy the journey of the MLB season as opposed to the destination. I'm trying not to lose sight of what a great year this was and not think of this year as a "failure", which was my immediate reaction to losing the NLDS. Given how much pitching is returning, along with the ever-present genius of the FO and Counsell, it feels like there are more successful seasons and more playoff appearances on the way.
  6. It's not a good look for either party. As an employer, that's the risk of making a lowball offer. As an employee, there is a risk to prioritizing your needs above your employer's. At the end of the day, MLB's financial system creates these incentives, and when you're a relief pitcher the risk of never getting that big contract is real. Anyway...trade him.
  7. Never thought I would be happy to be rid of this team, but they got me there in the end.
  8. Hader for 9 outs? Yeah that's not happening. If we see him in the 8th I'd be happy. I thought it was the 8th already. We're 3 hours in and we made it to the top 7th?
  9. I keep thinking this too...we'll see. I doubt it at this point, but you never know. There he is!
  10. It actually makes a lot of sense when it's an elimination game and managers do it all the time in the postseason when there is no game 5 if you lose. Except that it doesn't work. You saw the numbers earlier in this thread.
  11. Asking for multiple innings from Hader is a fair request for this game. Asking for Burnes to pitch makes no sense.
  12. If you told me 3 hours ago that we would give up 4 runs and not be losing, I would have taken it in a heartbeat.
  13. Hader pitched 3 innings in game 7 of the NLCS and then the bullpen blew the game after he came out. You have to cover all 9 innings.
