  1. They are visiting MSU on the 14th. So I expect we'll hear an announcement sometime in the second half of the month. Could be a really fortunate turn of events for a roster that needed some help to say the least.
  2. If the Bucks play the 76ers it means the Sixers got there by winning games 6 and 7. That would be impressive and you probably wouldn't want to face the Sixers given what would have to go right for that scenario to play out.
  3. Is there any reason to think the Bucks won't win the next series in 5-6 games at most?
  4. Giannis smells blood in the water
  5. I'm half expecting the Celtics to be on a bus to the airport during halftime.
  6. It continually amazes me how fast this team can open up a 10 point lead.
  7. Apparently there's a rumor going around that Howard had some fun with one of the Hausers' girlfriends. I have no idea if that is true or not but it sort of makes sense with the Wojo extension today.
  8. There are lots of interesting sub-plots with coaching adjustments, Kyrie, etc, but my prediction going forward is that the team with Giannis will win.
  9. The sweet sound of the home fans booing the Celtics. Losing game 1 might have been the best thing to happen to this team.
  10. Strongly agree. It's a great strategy for the league as you get a featured game every night and the media/fans are incentivized to pay attention to some of the second-tier matchups that otherwise would be ignored. We can only hope that someday that MLB off the regular season and adds to the playoff schedule. Way more interesting to watch than regular season games.
  11. Absolute domination in the paint. Giannis doing ridiculous things.

    New Music

I was excited to see that Angels & Airwaves is back and their new single seems like classic Tom DeLonge. A few established indie rock favorites have new albums out--Andrew Bird and Local Natives. Some great tracks on both.
  13. How about we wait until they play the easy part of their schedule? I believe we will see continued roster tinkering regardless of record and history suggests that Stearns is good at making incremental improvements.
  14. At least Pujols is reaching some sort of milestone every other week.
  15. I had a Kymco Agility 50 for a few years when I was a college student in Madison. It was great for getting to my job on the west side without needing to own a car. I'm a tall guy and didn't fit comfortably on many of the Yamaha/Honda models. A few thoughts... 1. You probably want a make/model that one of the local scooter places will service. Kymco makes nice scooters. I don't know anything about Wolf. You also need them to remove the restrictor or you will be limited to 25 mph. Without the restrictor I could get up to about 35 mph on flat ground (they do not accelerate quickly...). That is still way too slow for anything that isn't a dense urban neighborhood so keep that in mind. 2. They are really dangerous. Like motorcycles you are invisible to everyone and car drivers get really irritated when you are going too slow for them. People like to drive 35 mph in a 25 mph zone so they still wanted to pass me when I was at maximum speed. Any road with > 30 mph speed limit was a no-no unless it had a shoulder lane. And on an uphill I could barely hit 25 mph at full throttle. I never had any crashes although I nearly hit a pedestrian once when we were both sneaking between cars in a traffic jam. I had that moped in 2008 but if I had to do it in 2019 I would buy an e-bike unless I really needed to commute somewhere without bicycling infrastructure. E-bikes are way more versatile that scooters because you don't have to deal with the DMV/licensing/insurance and you can ride them on bike paths and park them anywhere. Plus the nicer ones can go almost as fast as a moped.
  16. Do they make any movies anymore that are not based on a superheros, animation, or fantasy? Action/superhero movies make sense for the big screen. It's hard to argue the same for other genres. We're in a golden age for TV content right now with all of the competition in the streaming biz. Eventually they will consolidate but for now there are numerous services putting out an incredible number of outstanding shows. I have zero interest in Marvel but I think that's partly because I was never exposed to it as a kid.
  17. He was talking 2016. I don't think anyone would argue that he isn't untradeable/has no trade value now. Braun needs a good benching, a full week or so. I'm still confident that some more value can be squeezed out of him (see 2018 vs. 2019 Felix Hernandez), but he needs to get a little wake up call first.
  18. Some good news for you--the next update will probably significantly reduce those snowfall forecasts except in the row of counties along the WI-IL border.
  19. Yeah, that's just a really obnoxious comment in my opinion. As though we're all neophytes who can't possibly look at the Celtics and see their talent, but instead just look at the latest series they played vs a team without it's best player. If we're going by how well a team looked in the 1st round, why wouldn't we be overly confident the Bucks would win? So...yeah, don't tell me why I think this is a tough matchup. Especially after I already said why. They're a team led by a guy who's been there before and hit big shots, they've got 2 young, long and extremely athletic defenders to throw at Giannis as well as a couple older and bigger ones. Horford gave us a ton of trouble last year and...and I really didn't think it needed to be explained that the Celts were a talented team. I think the Bucks are better, don't think they'll lose in 5, but just dismissing our opinions because it just has to be because of their first-round series is a bit annoying. Just to be clear, this was not directed at anyone in the thread, there are some good points here for why the Celtics are a tough matchup that I didn't consider. But I still think the Celtics will ultimately depend on hot 3 point shooting to beat the Bucks and that will happen only once in Boston. We'll see...
  20. People are reading too much into Boston trashing a weak Pacers team. Bucks in 5.
  21. No chaos like the NHL please. We are the 1-seed, the more calm and predictable the playoffs, the better. The main lesson is that it doesn't take 7 games to figure out which team is better, so may as well have a shorter first round series or play the games more frequently. But a 1 vs 8 is certainly better than the meaningless regular season games the Bucks have been playing for the past month or two. Bucks vs. Celtics is bound to be more intriguing. Bring it on.
  22. They held their own in April against their likely playoff opponents. Many had them winning less games in April than they have already won. I have zero concerns moving forward.
  23. Same could be said for about 25 out of the 30 teams at this point.
  24. It looks like Tampa is now the clear favorite in the AL East. Shocking. The wild cards are wide open so there is still plenty of time for Boston to wake up.
