I find it hard to believe that most of Toronto's key postseason role players are any better than our guys.
They have a bunch of career .700 OPS guys who all got hot at the same time and are OPSing 1.000 in the postseason...Ernie Clement, Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes etc. Even IKF and Andres Gimenez have been serviceable. And then you top it off with their stars putting up star-like numbers and you have the recipe for a ring. Same thing happened to the Braves when they won it all a couple years ago.
Seattle almost beat Toronto while getting essentially nothing offensively from their role players. The difference between us and Seattle was that Seattle at least got big contributions from their star players (and their deadline acquisitions wink wink nudge nudge). We were dependent on an injured Chourio, got middling numbers from Contreras, and nothing from Yelich.
