  1. And meanwhile we're leaking that we're interested in Wacha, who is 35 and owed even more salary than Skubal. Right...
  2. No way we acquire either of these guys. We're going to aim higher. I don't want 35 year old Wacha on our roster in '27 even if KC is paying half his salary. However, we want Detroit to think that we have lots of options, so of course we're going to leak that we're "in" on every starter out there.
  3. Disappointing to not go 26-0 thanks to our underperforming offense.
  4. I'm getting impatient as well, we're in that stage where we just need one big move to happen to open the floodgates. Hopefully it happens today.
  5. Because there’s no actual proof that it has ever cost the Brewers a playoff series amid the myriad other factors that have caused us to lose postseason games. If only we had more power than surely the Jose Quintana vs Shohei Ohtani pitching matchup would have turned out in our favor! Not to mention the ALCS last year where the power hitting Mariners were outdone by the more balanced Toronto offense.
  6. They are back in the WC race, I don’t think Miller is going anywhere
  7. This is all a perfect storm for treasury yields to go up…inflation, government debt, geopolitical uncertainty.
  8. It really shows how good the offense is when Yelich, with a 98 OPS+, is highlighted as a weak point. The current issue is that in addition to Yelich slumping, Chourio and Contreras have both not been hitting well for at least a month.
  9. I went and did a workout when it was 3-2, wasn't expecting that finish. Can someone explain the bullpen usage critique? Looks like we played by the book.
  10. He survived but I wouldn't sign up for an encore either.
  11. We're doing a great job against Webb. We're not making it easy for him. We'll get a shot at their bullpen if our pitching can keep us in the game.
  12. Mr. broken toe with some great baserunning to get us a run
  13. The book on Yelich is clearly high fastballs
  14. I know we're going to have to give up a lot, but... 2025 NLDS pitching: - Game 1: Peralta - Game 2: Ashby->Miz (3 IP)->Mears->Patrick - Game 3: Priester->Mears->Quintana->Anderson - Game 4: Peralta - Game 5: Megill (opener)->Miz (4 IP) 2025 NLCS pitching: - Game 1: Ashby (opener) -> Patrick - Game 2: Peralta - Game 3: Ashby (opener) -> Miz (5 IP) - Game 4: Quintana -> Patrick --- 2026 NLDS: - Game 1: Skubal - Game 2: Miz - Game 3: Harrison - Game 4: Henderson - Game 5 (if necessary): Skubal w/ Miz as 1-2 inning relief option 2026 NLCS: Skubal: 2 games Miz: 2 games Harrison/Henderson: 1 game each Drohan/Gasser/Ashby all available as needed I know we won a lot of games in 2025, but that was not a pennant-caliber playoff rotation. In 2026 we're going to have some innings limitations to worry about. Skubal is only at 96.2 IP this year, we could ride him hard in the postseason and take some pressure off of Miz by slotting him as the #2. Miz is an incredible talent but we have no idea how long his current run of dominance is sustainable for. 2x Cy winners do not become available as a rental every day, especially in a year when we have assets that the selling team is interested in. If I'm Attanasio, I tell Arnold to get it done. We can't let this opportunity slip by.
  15. Oh no, this means I get Gasser on Saturday in Anaheim instead of Miz 😭
  16. Initial reaction: "Who or what is a Pannone" *checks baseball reference* He pitched 2.2 innings for us in 2023 and was credited for a hold in a game in which we blew a 7-3 7th inning lead in Pittsburgh.
  17. More washed than Yelich
  18. Drop a game here and there and suddenly we're going to be at a 99 win pace instead of 101.
  19. The main reason for trading Peralta for Crow is so we can frame the inevitable "Stearns Eats Crow" headline on the NY Post sports page.
  20. I think I would do Skubal for Henderson and Moneys plus filler. Henderson is worth enough that we shouldn’t have to give up another top-10. My prediction is that Skubal goes to Tampa though. I think they are going to be willing to overpay because of the political implications with their new stadium push. That makes us a prime candidate for Mason Miller if he is available since the Padres won’t trade him to LA. And what position has been responsible for more of our postseason failures than closer?
