    Not that I really care a whole lot, but I am glad Vladmir Guerrero won instead of some unknown guy like Matt Holliday or Alex Rios. This was clearly a lousy ballpark for a HR derby too. Without an upper deck, you don't get the perception of bombs being hit. I still think we had one of the better homerun derbys here in Milwaukee in 2002.

    At least he won't be joining the Cardinals next season. There were a lot of rumors he wanted to go there because he is from that area.

    I was living in California from 1996-1998 and my first game at Dodgers Stadium was a playoff game between the Dodgers and Braves. I had never been to a postseason game before so it was exciting. When the Brewers switched to the National League. I was also able to attend the first ever Brewers game at Dodger Stadium. We won in extra innings. I still have a commemorative pin that they gave everyone. I absolutely loved the place. The view of the hills was gorgeous. I also liked the overall setup of the parking and the councourses. It also felt like the big time because you were in a major market like LA. There was no Miller Park back then and so Dodgers Stadium seemed like a huge upgrade from what I was used to at County Stadium.

    Four Brewers players and a chance for home field advantage if the Brewers happen to play in the World Series. OF COURSE I WILL BE WATCHING !!!

    Vargas rarely ever seems dominant. I personally think he is mostly smoke and mirrors.

    I enjoyed the fireworks, but I thought it was a little too long. After about 20 minutes, you kind of get the idea and you are waiting for the grand finalee already. Especially when it is cold and wet outside. I think a 30 minute show is good enough.

    I know Damian Miller will get all the headlines, but I want to give a lot of credit to Carlos Villanueva for another spectacular outing. I really wish he could go the All-Star game too. BREWERS WIN !!

    It looks like the vote was not even close for first base. Fielder beat Pujols by about 800,000 votes. In fact, all the Brewers did pretty well in the voting. sportsillustrated.cnn.com...index.html

    I can't tell you how proud and excited I am for our players, our team, our city, and our state. I never envisioned a day when we would beat out a very popular Cub and a very popular Cardinal in the fan balloting. Having four all-stars just feels so awesome.     They should skip the rest of the Marlins and Braves game and just start the All-Star show. I am sure there is more national interest in the all-star results anyway.

    I don't know how Loretta would fit in with this team considering we already have Graffanino and Counsell, but I will admit that it would be nice to reacquire either Loretta or Cirillo as we make a playoff push late in the season. I just kind of think it would be nice to have one of our long time veteran guys come back and finally get into the postseason as a Brewer after all the years of losing they endured here. From a sentimental standpoint, it would be a nice story.

    I am trying be mature and I am trying to keep this loss in perspective. Maybe someday this loss will be nothing more than an irrelevant footnote in the grand scheme of life. But at this moment in time, it's awfully painful. I am still in a shell-shocked state of denial. Nothing makes me more sick than giving the Cubs and their fans some hope and excitement. I so badly wanted to crush their season and destroy them for good. This couldn't have turned out worse. My whole Friday has been ruined already.

    I like it the way it is. I know not all the matchups are exciting, but neither are many of the regular matchups. As long as they shift around the opponents every few years, I think it is fun. I like seeing new teams come through Miller Park once in a while. I personally think playing interleague games in chunks makes it more interesting. If teams randomly spread around interleague games throughout the schedule, it wouldn't even get noticed that much. At least you have something interesting for a few weeks. I also like the regional rivalry concept. I know not every team has a great rival, but it's good for most places that do. The only thing that bothers me is that AL teams have a real DH on their roster. The NL teams usually have to insert some backup scrub and it doesn't seem fair. Imagine if we played the Red Sox and we had to pitch to David Ortiz and the Sox had to pitch to Gabe Gross. It doesn't feel right.

    This feels like the biggest series for the Brewers in about 14 years. I don't recall feeling this kind of intensity in a long time. A sweep by either team completely changes the playoff race.
