  1. Just got home from that torture of a game at Miller Park. Was it just me or did the Giants have a million baserunners in every single inning? The whole game felt like a non-stop pitching jam. Every pitcher except Parra pitched like garbage. The score should have been 20-4 Giants. What an awful performance.
  2. I was very disappointed that WSSP reported this trade as "breaking news" rather than just as a rumored deal. I am a huge fan of the station, but this sort of thing really hurts their journalistic integrity I honestly think someone needs to get fired. That's how poorly this was handled by the station. The whole thing was so misleading and it was a disgrace. They really made it sound like Dunn was a Brewer for sure.
  3. I have never liked Adam Dunn. I know the stats people like him, but I just find him painful to watch. He looks clumsy out in leftfield and the strikeouts would drive me nuts. We already have so many homeruns as it is. I think we need a high average singles and doubles hitter instead of someone like Dunn. I hope this rumor is not true.
  4. If Graffaninio and Counsell are going to play at second base more, that means Weeks will be a bench player. But I just don't see Weeks as the type of guy who can come off the bench and get a pinch hit late in the game. He might be a good pinch runner, but do you really trust him with the bat right now? I know I don't. I would love to see Loretta come back just to give Yost more options. I really think Weeks needs to play everyday in the minors until he finds it again. On a personal note, I just really think it would be cool to have a long-time Brewer like Loretta come back and go into the playoffs as a Brewer. It just seems sort of fitting. (assuming we make the playoffs of course)
  5. What happened to Ned Yost? Who kidnapped him? * We have a new manager who pulled Dave Bush BEFORE the big inning. * We have a new manager who went to the mound THREE TIMES to get in the pitcher's face after throwing balls and giving up walks. * We have a manager that pinch hit for Rickie Weeks in a key situation. In fact, Weeks will now be riding the bench for a while. * We have won a bunch of one-run games where every decision seemed huge. * We have a manager who is telling Chris Capuano that his job is on the line and that you only get so many chances. Now who is this imposter managing our team all of a sudden? He seems to be pulling all the strings and managing with urgency now.
  6. The bullpen has been fantastic lately. Major props to Cordero and the setup men. One run leads are not easy to keep. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b273/AJAY_02/BrewersWin5.gif
  7. Great job by Suppan. That game was a nail-biter. BREWERS WIN !!! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b273/AJAY_02/311206478_32cd2ba274_o.gif
  8. You never know. . . It's possible they may not have lived in Milwaukee their whole lives and maybe they aren't as familiar with the old-time Brewers. I'll stick with the positives and give them credit for wearing Brewers clothing and buying Brewers merchandise. That's what I like to see. Even if they are just clueless bandwagoners, I'll still take it. You'll find that in every city where a local sports team is doing well. It's a good sign we are even having this discussion. That means the team is doing better.
  9. I believe that elbow stiffness and swelling is exactly what got Chris Carpenter on the DL in the first place. He might be right back to square one again. It's not a good sign.
  10. Let's connect the dots . . . The Reds were in Arizona just before the All-Star break. That would mean Daron Sutton might be the one who had a chat with Ken Griffey. Daron Sutton also mentioned on ESPN Radio that he was going to be here in Milwaukee during the All-Star break to help his wife pack their stuff to move to Arizona. So it's possible that the blogger's friend might have ran into Daron Sutton while he was in town. I don't know if Griffey is coming or not, but the details of the story seem to fit together and make it somewhat interesting.
  11. Okay, maybe Griffey's name didn't come up in that conversation a half hour ago. But did it come up in an different conversation some other day?
  12. I don't know about which hat he will wear, but I am looking forward to his speech. It wouldn't surprise me if he ripped a bunch of more people. In fact, I am sure he will probably rip the Hall of Fame too. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  13. Wow, that photo got me really excited. Griffey looked great in a Brewers hat.
  14. Bob Wolfley of JS Online reported that Milwaukee had the third highest ratings for both the All-Star Game and Homerun Derby behind only St. Louis and Boston. He also states that this recent All-Star Game was the highest rated in this market since 1994. Nice to see the enthusiasm in this town. Good job fans !!
  15. I don't know if someone else might have mentioned this already, but my theory is that dropping Rickie Weeks to the 8th spot has gotten into his head. One minute you are the leadoff man, and you come to the park knowing that you are a vital part of the offense and you are being counted on as an important member of the team. The next minute you are being sent the opposite message. You are being told that nobody is reallly expecting anything from you and you are not really thought of as being that important anymore. I would love to say that it shouldn't matter where in the lineup you hit. But players are human and the mindset and enthusiasm just seems so different when you are batting 8th. I say bump him up in the lineup for a week or two and see what happens. Corey Hart has solidified the leadoff spot, but try Weeks at 6th or something. I am sure the wrist is part of it, but Weeks has gotten much worse at the same time he started batting 8th. I don't think it's a coincidence.
  16. From JS Online . . . . Capitalizing on the increased interest in the first-place Brewers, sports-talker WSSP-AM (1250) is launching expanded pre-game coverage with "The On Deck Show," starting an hour before the opening pitch of most Brewers games. The show starts Friday with Cliff Saunders as the primary host.
  17. BOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!! I guess we are going to have to learn how to play better on the road now. Step it up Brewers.
  18. I would have preferred a Soriano walk and a Hardy homerun. But at least it's interesting now.
  19. I guess the bright side of this is that Cordero won't be the goat now.
  20. Ortiz played in the Twins minor league system and played in ******on. He also married someone from that area and just decided to make it home. I don't think they live there anymore. I thought I read they moved now.
  21. I was at the 2002 All-Star tie, and it was a really weird experience. It just sort of felt like the players quit on the fans and the sport. It was weird having no ending and no celebration because the game was so riveting since the lead kept changing. It's like watching a good movie and then not being allowed to see the climactic ending. Especially when you waited for three years to host the event and there was so much hype and build up all for nothing. I know people that took the week off and traveled to Milwaukee to attend all the events. Many of them were furious and felt so cheated. I think many people don't want the All-Star game to count but still want some kind of ending. I personally like that it counts, but I know I am probably in the minority. It makes the game so much more interesting with something at stake in my opinion.
  22. Aw, Coco. J.J. is going to have to hit a game winning blast for us. The Brewers need to have something go their way.
  23. Ironically, the hardest hit ball against Sheets was an out. Good job overall.
  24. Poor kid. I hope he shakes it off. Lot of game left.
