  1. Its odd how the Brewers have managed the two Arizona rosters. It seems they are favoring the Gold roster. They have consistently kept the gold roster at around 36 players and the Blue roster around 30. The transfer of Yi is a good example. Why would they do this, when Colina is also placed on the DL, leaving them now down two pitchers? I'm sure there is enough players to go around still, but it just seems curious.
  2. Box: Jacksonville 2, Biloxi 0 Winning Streak Ends As Shuckers Are Shutout By Shrimp Biloxi Threatens Late Before Rain Delay By Andrew Chapman / Biloxi Shuckers The fourth really good appearance from Drew Rasmussen in his last five outings, though the offense could do nothing against super-prospect Sixto Sanchez or the other three Shrimp pitchers.[/quote] Seriously, that is offensive to short pitchers.
  3. Any news on where Holt and Hamilton will be playing? I have not seen where they were assigned to yet. For that matter, #13 Gillis and #32 Figueroa have not pitched yet.
  4. If you are going to list a name twice in the batting order, I'd list Yelich
  5. I'll agree with most of the responses. I would doubt people are trying to sneak them through. Its more likely they forget. Some people carry a gun with them everywhere they go. It is very easy to be talking to people and not even think about it as you go through security. I carry a multitool on my keychaine always. Over the years, I've probably lost five or six of them through security. At least twice at MP. In fact I just ordered a new one to replace the one I lost at the airport. I don't even give it a second thought. To answer the OP, I'll guess 30 per year. A few per series
  6. Wow. They are going to need another team for all these players.
  7. Apparently Clayton needed to have a bad outing before he could be promoted. Brewers just wanted to make sure he was human.
  8. His peripherals are not even that bad at AA. Hits and HRs are low and big strikeout numbers. Just needs to work on the walks. But I agree, the only chance he had at Milwaukee this year is if he pitched so crazy well that the Brewers just could not ignore it. I doubt they want to have him pitch late in the year after not playing the last two years.
  9. Here is my list of Rule 5 eligible players. I may be missing a few but I think this is fairly close: [pre]Name Protect? Level Drafted/Signed Preston Gainey No ? 2012 Luis Aviles No AA 2013 Nattino Diplan No AA FA Tyler Spurlin No AA FA Tucker Neuhaus No ? 2013 Carlos Leal No Rookie 2014 Carlos Luna No Rookie FA Devin Williams Maybe AA 2013 J. I see 5 "must protects" and another 8 decisions to make. Of course this can change as the season goes on due to injuries and performance. I think the Brewers can fairly easily clear 10 spots to protect players.
  10. Looks like the final roster has been posted to the MiLB website. http://www.milb.com/roster/index.jsp?sid=t551 5 guys from the June draft made the team
  11. I was just having trouble connecting this past hour. Obviously working now. Do you want info on when issues occur?
  12. Houser is really starting to come on and could be filling that important middle inning role
  13. From MLBs top performers for today: NATIONAL LEAGUE CENTRAL Brewers: Adam Hill, RHP (No. 27) -- 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K (Class A Wisconsin) Trey Supak, RHP (No. 11) -- 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 K (Double-A Biloxi) Hill threw 50 of his 84 pitches for strikes as he spun his third scoreless start of the year and his first since late April. The 22-year-old, a fourth-round pick from last year's Draft, was traded from the Mets to the Brewers in January and has posted a 4.37 ERA through his first 12 appearances in the Brewers organization. Hill retired nine of the first 10 batters he faced and Sunday's start was certainly a positive sign after the right-hander had surrendered 11 runs over nine innings in his past two starts. Supak matched his season high with eight strikeouts in another solid performance for Biloxi. The 23-year-old has pitched to a 1.91 ERA this season and has held opponents without an earned run in four of his past five starts. Cubs: No Cubs prospects had noteworthy performances on Sunday. --- Awesome!
  14. He's had some pretty dramatic splits between day and night games. He has about 200 OPS points less during the day over his career (almost 300 OPS points this year). Way too early to call that a trend with the small sample size, but its something to keep an eye on. He may feel more loose during the warmer daytime and is throwing harder as a result.
  15. I get that Robie Rojas' job is to be that third C and bounce around the taxi squad. But other than a brief stint at AAA, he has hit everywhere he has played. Career OPS of 780 but only but only 197 PA over three seasons. What would it take to give the guy an extended look?
  16. Shaw is now batting 1.000 since his return. I think some of you owe Stearns an apology
  17. Hmm, the last part of that scouting report is not promising... "...giving him a high floor and a chance to be a No. 4 starter."
  18. Prep righty Matt Allen is still available. He has frontline stuff and looks to have slipped a bit. I wonder if there is some signability concerns. If not the case, he would be a great pick for the Brewers.
  19. Correct. Enormous difference between mutual option and team option. You could probably count on one hand how many mutual options you can think of being exercised. I agree. However, these are different times and Moose has had very little luck in the FA market the last 2 years. Its still most likely that he goes back into free agency but you never know.
  20. The brewers are at the 1/3 point of the season. Yelich is currently on pace for 63 Hr and 30 SB. He would be the first player in MLB history to do that. I dont think he will get there as there is a lot of season left, but it is quite amazing the pace he is on.
  21. Griep is 25 years old and dominating AA ... after repeating the year because of his poor walk rate. He should get promoted to AAA soon and could be in the mix for the brewers bullpen later in the year if he continues to perform like this. He's old for his league, so I would not put him in my top 25 yet until he does this against older competition.
  22. I've seen this stated multiple times now and I finnally looked up the data. This looks to based on small sample data. Chase has 13.2 IP as a starter (1.32 ERA) and 10 IP as a RP (4.50 ERA) in 2019. The biggest difference appears to be the 3 HRs he has given up as a RP. Otherwise, he actually has a better K/9 (11.7 vs 7.9) and better K/BB ratio (3.25 vs 1.33) as a reliever. For his career, he only has 12 IP as a reliever. I need more data to say he is a better starter than reliever.
