  1. Nice! Can’t wait to be back.
  2. The write-ups this winter on Ashby and Kelly are really exciting. Can’t wait to see how they perform this summer.
  3. I wonder how Osuna’s elbow injury rehab is going? There was talk he could possibly need Tommy John.
  4. Since it seems they were willing to spend quite a bit of money on Rosenthal, could they shift to Walker or Odorizzi and go with a 6 man rotation (or move Houser to the bullpen)? If they could get one of those guys on a one year prove it type deal, I could maybe see it.
  5. Shortest lived rumor ever? Yeah I would have been shocked had Stearns signed a reliever for $11 million.
  6. This is just my own personal viewpoint but I think I would be far more excited in the present moment about signing such an unbelievable talent to a long term deal than I would be scared about the contract going bad 10+ years down the road.
  7. What an offseason for San Diego. Must be fun to be a Padres fan right now.
  8. Again I ask - where in holy hell is SD getting all this money?
  9. Yeah that’s only two weeks worth of games. I’m guessing he’d have to look pretty crappy in those two weeks not to make the roster.
  10. Just my opinion but I think Lindblom is a lock to be in the rotation unless he is absolutely abysmal in spring training.
  11. Yeah I still have high hopes for Houser. People forget he had a pretty good 2019 as a starter. Hopefully last year was just a bad year, like it was for many.
  12. I can’t get excited about this move but it’s understandable when you have nobody in the minors at 3B who is even remotely close. Just gonna have to keep going year to year on these low-tier guys until we can finally draft and develop a 3B.
  13. Yeah my first thought was “gross” too but figured we were going this route after losing out on Turner.
  14. So if the season started today, I’m guessing we’d go something like: 1. Woodruff 2. Burnes 3. Anderson 4. Houser 5. Lindblom Is that good enough to compete for a division?
  15. I’m not mad about this signing but I’m not exactly excited about it either but this regime has proven they know what they’re doing when it comes to pitching so it’s fine I guess.
  16. Yeah it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they are comfortable with Urias as the starting 3B heading into the season. They gave up a lot to get him and probably want to see what he has to offer in a full season. At this point, I’m fully expecting Urias to be at 3B barring something unusual happening.
  17. My favorite Derek Fisher memory -
  18. I could be wrong but I have a hard time seeing Walker get over $10 million per year. I mean, maybe the Mets would pay that but I doubt it. If that’s the case though, he certainly won’t be a Brewer.
  19. CJ Cron goes to the Rockies.
  20. I think the poster meant the comp pick for Brosseau, not Rios?
  21. That would be gross.
  22. Maybe you can get Odorizzi on a one or two year deal at this point? I know he’s projected to get three but maybe at this point in the offseason he’s only looking at two at the most. A top of the rotation of Woodruff, Burnes and Odorizzi would look pretty nice. I also wouldn’t mind Taijuan Walker on a two year deal. All that being said, this current regime typically hasn’t thrown big money at pitchers so we’ll see.
  23. So Turner is gone which means we're back to going the Gyorko route or just going with some sort of Robertson/Urias combo...unless we can trade for a legit 3B. So who's out there? Edwin Rios is an obvious trade candidate now that he's blocked by Turner for the next two years. I can't imagine the Dodgers being all that interested in our prospects so would it take a Hader trade to get him? Guys like Matt Chapman and Jose Ramirez don't appear to be on the block right now, but maybe they will be at the deadline if their respective teams are out of it. Maybe a guy like Austin Riley from the Braves who don't appear to be completely sold on him? Or Luis Arraez from the Twins? Anybody else out there that I'm missing who would be a viable trade candidate?
  24. What would it take to get Chapman from the A’s and are they even looking to deal him? Their minor league system is pretty weak right now so maybe they’d look to restock that a bit.
  25. Spot on, that's really disappointing. That is a steal for Paxton. Is not being willing to pay anything for starting pitching an organizational philosophy? It seems like they are allergic to free agent pitchers. They did give Chacin 2 years, $16 million but yeah, seems like it’s an organizational philosophy not to hand out even moderately sized contracts to pitchers.
