  1. I think that the point of Tom Tango's survey here is to eventually show that there, indeed, is only a very limited existence of "clutch," or none at all.

  4. I work up in Green Bay during the summer, so nope. I got a team up there though.
  5. Does anyone know where the nearest batting cages to the UW-Madison campus would be? I want to hit a few softball's this spring...
  6. Ha, I haven't, but that's where I'll be studying abroad next spring. You'll have to tell me what its like. I have heard its pretty expensive there.
  7. What is the reasoning for Parra over Villanueva in the rotation? Is there any? Because Villy has a role in the bullpen?
  8. Who's "Sir" in the letter? I trust Marshall's thoughts.
  9. If my Final Four, Championship Game, and Champion are all correct (all still alive), BrewCrewKid still beats me by one point. But if either Memphis or Tennessee to make the Elite 8, or both if Xavier also wins, then I overtake him for the top spot. Wahoo!
  10. ^ I've seen a lot of guys try to be hero's in the games so far. Chucking up deep 3's late in close games, one-on-two challenges. Some real headshakers.
  11. I think I am of Junior standing at UW-Madison, applying for the Business School.
  12. Dave Bush wins 18 games. Brewers add $6+ million at the deadline. Cubs finish in 3rd place.
  13. Hmm. Didn't Yost say he wants a second lefty for the pen? Does this mean Villy to the rotation and Parra in the big league pen? Or am I forgetting someone?
  14. Don't throw the trash bag at the garbage can no-look behind-the-back when there is a pitchfork around. Got any good advice?
  15. http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/bb515d4d97d866656218fe54da5493a385cd486.pjpg Neat little program. To Download Also a online version, though its not as good. It cheats and just changes the color of the letters from light to dark. LINK
  16. Congrats to Stevo and mlccrispy34 on perfectly picked opening day. Also to the eight of you who went 15 for 16, and only one of which lost a Sweet 16 team. I myself had 14 correct, and lost one Sweet 16 team. (Stupid me, I had USC beating the Badgers.)
  17. Roberts has really only had one great year, and last year he was overall just slightly better than Weeks. I think this would be a foolish swap.
  18. I'll imagine a lot of people will be kicking themselves for not taking Georgia if they hold on. Coming in so hot, and Xavier only so-so, it was so tempting to take them. I went with my head though.
  19. How about protest because Opening Day of United States' Major League Baseball, America's national pastime, is being played in Japan. Stupid. Let's get it back in Cincinnati where it belongs.
  20. Don't forget about Cameron's suspension. Melvin mentioned that there would be another difficult decision on who to send down when Cameron returned. I would guess one of Gross, Kapler, Gwynn would go back down when Cameron returns. Yes, one of those players counts as a starter considering Cameron is suspended. So technically that's only a 4-man bench, so we have one spot for Joe Dillon, who really should be on this team.
  21. I actually think Torres will end up RP#1.A. Riske might be next in line for the job, but Torres is, IMO, the better pitcher.
  22. On a side note are there any other teams that have been moved and become a different franchise and then been resurrected in the same city under the same name? Washington Senators moved to Minnesota and became the Twins in 1961, and a new Washington Senators took their place. (Later to become the Texas Rangers.) Padres and Angels were both PCL teams at one point which the MLB teams took their names from. The Cubs used to be called the White Sox, so when the first St. Paul Saints were moved to Chicago in 1900, they took that name. Just a few off the top of my head.
  23. I don't understand what we're doing, but what we're doing seems to understand me.
  24. Go Wisconsin! May be a 1 seed up for grabs... I can dream!
