  1. Right movie, wrong actor.
  2. This man was in one movie as an actor, a 1988 movie about a guy who was being trained as the next action hero, but his wife and child get murdered by Mexican drug lords. Burning with vengeance, he stocks up on weapons and wages war on the criminals. Ring any bells?
  3. Is the boat on land?

  5. Nope. Wrong direction off the Bullox quote.
  6. I like Mark because he's a genuine fan. It seems that he is a businessman for a living, but the Milwaukee Brewers in some respects are not his job, its his hobby. He works hard so he can "play" with his team and spend money on it. Definitely a fan-friendly attitude.
  7. It's fine to feel confident in him and all, and you're obviously entitled to that. But I see him as a lineup hole, and batting him 8th or 9th probably won't make enough of an impact anyway. I should have said "relatively good impact". My projection for Kendall OBP/SLG is about 330/330. Relatively, its a very substancial improvement over our pitchers OBP. For those worried about getting Weeks and Braun stealing opportunities (I couldn't care less), batting Cameron 3rd with his very solid P/PA would give each an opportunity to run before Fielder gets to the plate.
  8. This is on the right track, but its not Gaither, Rogers, or Loggins.
  9. Brewjihad, is that Jesus or Corey Hart in your avatar. Oh, nevermind, same difference.
  10. if this is such a creative strategy, why hasn't it been employed more often? answer--because it is stupid. I disagree. It hasn't been employed more often because on the surface its counter-intuitive. However, there is a logical explaination for why it would be beneficial, as well as statistical studies supporting it. (Some say you could even bat the pitcher in the 7th spot under the right circumstances.) You should understand the theory before you dismiss it as stupid.
  11. Nope and nope. He does kind of look like Christopher Lee though. Few more guesses until I start with hints.
  12. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d175/sbrylski06/guess.gif I have no idea if this guy is "popular" or not.
  13. Agreed: Weeks Braun Cameron Fielder Hart Hall Hardy Pitcher Kendall With Hall/Hardy/Cameron being interchangable.
  14. YEAH! That is the correct answer, Nedly! The point of hitting the pitcher 8th is to attempt to get more baserunners out there for your 1 and 2 hitters, as the pitcher is almost never on base. The downside of this is losing RBI opportunities to drive in the 6th and 7th hitters. However, out situation seems to minimize the downside while maximizing the benefit. Our 6 and 7 hitters should be Hall and Hardy (or maybe Cameron) - not exactly OBP guys for the 8th guy to drive in. And Jason Kendall has his horrible SLG and "eh" batting average - not the guy to drive them in. But he's got that solid OBP, so placing him 9th will actually make a pretty good impact on getting some baserunners for Weeks to drive in. I'm very happy they are considering this, I thought never in a million years they would. And Braun 2nd! That's awesome, getting one of our top two hitters in a spot where we should have one of our top two hitters.
  15. Hmm. With Cameron out for April, we definitely have our own need for Gross. I can't see why Kapler would make the team over Gross. Depends what they're offering I guess, but our OF is really only 6 deep not counting Dillon, which leaves just 5 during the suspension.
  16. I don't think Dillon had any HR last year. He had some very nice pop in the minors. (39 HR back in 2004, 20+ in each of the last two seasons in under 100 games each). That said, I don't think he'll hit 20 in the ~200-250 PA he should get.
  17. Just a heads up, thought this looked neat. I'm not a programmer, but someone might be interested in this: LINK
  18. I've always planned on some type of garden, probably largely potatoes. But first I need a yard... Good luck with yours. However, I've noticed you're missing the one thing that everygarden needs: Sunflowers. Baseball related too!
  19. You contradicted yourself. He can't be lacking in K's and BB's (two of the three main things the pitcher is alone in influencing) and have pitched wonderfully at the same time.
  20. We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down. So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round. We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.
  21. I just hope we are still paying in dollars.
  22. You really think they would start Vargas? I would think they keep Villy up until Gallardo is back. This recent comment from Yost indicates to me they are still shopping a starter. So Vargas could definitely be traded before OD yet. If not, I expect them to showcase him if possible. But as pointed out, we won't need a #5 for a while anyway. But yes, if Vargas is still on the roster, I can definitely see him starting over Villy at the beginning of the year, in the intention of trading him.
