  1. I hope Grienke comes out for the 7th. It would be nice to get that ERA under 6. If he gets through 7 without any more runs he will have had a pretty solid outing. Just one really bad three hitter stretch
  2. McGehee has been pretty underwhelming so far this year. He has rarely taken advantage of people pitching around Fielder. I thought the rule of thumb on swinging 3-0 is that you had to swing at a pitch that you can actually drive somewhere.
  3. It is just crazy that Grienke has been giving up this many runs when you consider the incredible strikeout rate he has right now. It sure seems that when he has been making mistakes he almost always pays for them. He seems to lose focus for an inning here and there and gets lit up
  4. I actually thought Better With You was a solid show to pair with Modern Family; certainly better than "The Middle" Also the show with Courtney Cox needs to go away as well. Outsourced should have been cancelled half way through the 1st episode. The stereotypes of Indians on that show were borderline offensive.
  5. I have a good feeling that is the game where Grienke puts up a dominant performance. I just hope we don't put a Sunday afternoon lineup out there. Hopefully Counsell is starting at SS today; also please no Nieves today. Wouldn't be suprised to see Kotsay or Boggs in CF considering how awful Gomez has looked at the plate recently
  6. Watching Yuni is just getting more depressing by the day. Even if we keep winning Doug can't possibly keep a SS with an OPS of 600 can he? I really wish we had atleast a semi legitimate SS at AAA right now. Even then its not like Maysonet has been terrible; he can't possibly be worse than Yuni can he?
  7. Weird stat of the day: This is now the 6th consecutive series where the Brewers go into the final game of the series with a chance to sweep. A very good stat of the day. Gotta feel good about Grienke going tommorrow
  8. Weeks Hart Braun Fielder McGehee Kotsay Betancourt Lucroy Narveson So why is Lucroy stuck hitting 8th again? It seems he was pretty productive last night in the 6 spot.
  9. That wasn't that blatant of a misplay. Yeah it is a ball he should have caught but we are pretty spoiled to have a CF that even gets to that.
  10. What a horrible decision by Fowler to dive for that. He wasn't even close
  11. Grienke sure seems to be incredibly unlucky so far; I am confident his numbers by year end will be very good. His K:BB ratio is ridiculously good, his WHIP is solid at around 1.20 and his BABIP is just incredibly high. It seems anytime someone makes contact it goes for a hit somewhere. Hopefully our other big pitching acquisition gets us to .500 today and a chance for a sweep on Sunday
  12. So it is somehow RR's fault for having no bench whatsoever? His options in the 9th inning against one of the best closers in the game were: Yuni Betancourt Mike Rivera Brandon Boggs Wil Nieves I see this more of an issue with Melvin not giving RR any options whatsoever late in games. On most occasions he would also have Counsell or Kotsay but neither one of those guys are dependable pinch hitters either. RR has been far from perfect; but when he has no depth whatsoever his options are pretty limited with what he can do late in innings. That was even moreso yesterday with Braun getting hurt. RR definitely has some learning to do without a doubt; but the level of despise for the guy only 2 months into the job seems a little off base to me. We are really complaining that he pinch hit with Yuni B last night instead of Brandon freaking Boggs? Its not his fault his team chokes with RISP on the road. Unless someone knows of some magical speech RR can give to the players that gets them to hit on the road; I don't think he can really do much about that. Switching around guys in a lineup can only do so much.
  13. I don't really care for either team but I do despise a couple players. Coco for the Reds and Jaime Garcia for STL because the guy just shouldn't be that good and I expect him to crash and burn but he never does.
  14. The only guy I was really unhappy about parting with was Odorizzi; if only KC wanted Mark Rogers instead.... He would have been a pretty nice replacement when and if we lose Wolf, Marcum, or Grienke after 2012. With as bad as Betancourt has been; it is amazing that the SS swap has basically been a wash. I don't know if anyone expected Alcides to struggle this much on offense. Also goes without saying that Cain would look pretty good in CF right now. I still would do each of these trades again in a heartbeat
  15. Why can't we go Lucroy/Gomez/Betancourt? If anyone deserves the #8 spot it is Yuni. Heck if this was little league Yuni would be our #12 hitter. Luis Cruz really has to be kicking himself; or he should fire his agent for being a moron. I am sure he would be getting a ton of PT right now.
  16. It would be pretty cool to be back at .500 so soon after that horrendous road trip. It would also be nice to score more than 2 runs on the road for once. Please Please have Hart #2, Lucroy #6, and Betancourt/Gomez #7/#8
  17. Is Hunter Morris a legitimate 1B prospect? If they bump him to AA later this year; could they reasonably expect him to be in the bigs at some point in 2012? If so it would be another internal option at 1B other than Gamel. I see Morris has a ton of doubles power; will that eventually translate to HR or is he more like Overbay? Also looks like he needs to start taking some walks as well
  18. TH was pretty blunt with RR about why Gomez is still batting 2nd after the game yesterday. RR didn't give much of a reason either. Panicking when you have RISP is not a good thing RR. Just move Hart or Lucroy up already
  19. Garland really owns; still have to be happy we miss Kershaw, Lilly & Billingsley though. The ever elusive road win; sure hope we can go 2-2 on this quick trip. 3-1 and I would be estatic. Wouldn't be surpised to see Boggs or Kotsay in CF tonight with the right hander pitching.
  20. Com'n would it kill people to give Carlos some love every once a while? Yeah its only two weeks but it is something. His walk rate is up this year, he is stealing bases, and playing great defense. Obviously he has a long way to go, but he still is only 25 and at least IMO he has made solid progress. We could do much worse in CF than him. Its not his fault RR has him batting 2nd.
  21. If Gomez does need to rest a game or so does it really matter who we put in CF? Anyway you put it the defense is going to be awful; so you might as well just put the best offensive lineup possible out there. Braun / Kotsay / Hart (Yuck) Braun / Kotsay / Boggs (Yuck) Braun / Hart / Kotsay (Yuck) Braun / Hart / Boggs (Yuck) Braun / Boggs / Hart (Yuck) Braun / Boggs / Kotsay (Yuck) When you take out your only good outfielder and have no defensive specialists on your bench; your defensive outfield is just going to be bad. Kotsay would be fine in CF for a game or two if need be.
  22. I too find myself rooting for Gomez way more than one would expect. I like the fact that he goes 100% all the time and plays above average defense for a team full of mediocre defenders. He has shown glimpses off offensive competence but for never more than 20 AB's at a time it seems. I really like him as a #8 hitter and would probably be one of the best #8 hitters in all of baseball if he stays there. It would benefit a lot of different players if Hart could figure it out and get back in that #2 spot.
  23. IDK, none of those things seems like a good idea. Counsell looks all sorts of washed up so far this year; Hart hasn't figured out to hit enough to warrant a #2 spot, and we certainly don't have anyone that can lead off besides Weeks. I don't think lineup shuffling really matters a whole lot; if guys start hitting the lineup will naturally look a lot better
